The Dimensional Robos Archetype

I think we can ignore the V Series of Dimensional Robo series, as they didn't even put the transformation effort like the old series in this video. Dimensional Robos are all part of combining together to become even more powerful, like Power Rangers in the West, but there's a few anime where the idea of Dimensional Robos could come from. GaoGaiGar could be one of them since the design concept looks very similar.

EX7 Purple (Lilithmon X) Deck Profile

The new Lilithmon X adds additional boost to Lilithmon build. It is also a build that can respond to your opponent's attacks, so we don't need any Blast Counter for this build. Plus some Blast Counter doesn't do much when your opponent's attacks, unlike this build where we can do a lot of stuff during your opponent's turn. During our turn, we will just need to focus on digivolving to the right cards so we can start activating effects during your opponent's turn.

EX7 Dragon Linkz Deck Profile

Lets not get confused with Dragon Links in YGO, Digimon's Dragon Linkz work differently. It is still related to Dragons, so any Dragon fans out there would like these type of deck. The new support from EX7 actually made Dragon Linkz very good. But of course, you will also need some old stuff too to make it work. I also haven't wrote a colour next to Dragon Linkz, because its Dragon Linkz, I know they are Red and Black, but we also have white splashed into them thanks to Hina being a white Tamer. The way I made this build is to utilised draw power, of course you can change the build to your liking.

EX7 Nature Spirits Deck Profile

Nature Spirits is another deck like Three Musketeers where you can build the deck straight out of the booster set. Although unlike Three Musketeers, we do need few more cards outside of EX7 set, but the rest should be easy to build for new players. Just like Three Musketeers, we are not colour restricted which is why I didn't add the colours next to NSp deck profile. I find this interesting, it's fun, but I don't know if you want to enter this in competition. It is slow to set up, so there are plenty of counters out there against this deck.

GCG First Gameplay

The first Gundam Card Game game play. For those who have played One Piece Card Game, this is very easy to adapt, and I could write a comparison between these 2 card games. Obviously there are some minor changes compare to One Piece, but hopefully, Gundam won't be expensive. To be honest, I found One Piece to be cheaper than Digimon since One Piece gives you a choice of not running expensive promos whilst Digimon, you have to run them or the deck isn't as effective, especially in competitive scenes. I just hope Gundam will also follow One Piece route of doing things.

EX7 Three Musketeers Deck Profile

Another build new players can build just from EX7 set is Three Musketeers. Its only Tamers that is not from EX7 set since Three Musketeers doesn't have a Tamer. The playing style is different from the last Three Musketeers build as we don't need to set up the trash to reduce the cost to play BeelStarmon. This time, we can digivolve all the way normal, of course, we can still hard play certain Digimon to get the main Digimon out. As you can also see, I haven't written a colour next to Three Musketeers, as Three Musketeers doesn't care about colours at all as long as they have Three Musketeers in their traits.

EX7 Yellow (Cendrillmon) Deck Profile

A new keyword is involved and that is Overclock, and I personally think Overclock is very sneaky especially if this build can be very aggressive, more aggressive than red decks. But of course we are missing the final puzzle, Yellow Scramble to make this deck fully work. I think that card is released later on this year. Just like Zephagamon build, it is one of the new deck from LIBERATOR. Although, you won't need a lot of promos to build this deck which is the upside of this build.

EX7 Green (Zephagamon) Deck Profile

I'll be honest and say this is my first official green build that I touched for Digimon. I know Digimon came out a long time ago, but I haven't touch any green cards aside from Imperialdramon build. The good thing about this build is that you only need the starter deck and EX7 set to build, so for new players, this is very easy to build than trying to find old cards. There is only one problem is that I've also added promos to this build, and knowing Bandai, Digimon promos are really hard to find if they are staples for the deck, also the price are not cheap for what they do. We will be utilising the new keyword Vortex, and personally I do like the Vortex ability, but it does need to mix with other cards to make Vortex really deadly.

EX7 Blue (Hexeblaumon) Deck Profile

I'm glad Hexeblaumon got a new card with brand new keyword Iceclad. This was the second Blue deck I like since Ulforce was the first one. The deck style is still the same as the old Hexe build, but with the ability Iceclad, it makes this deck a lot better than just trashing your opponent's Digi sources. I think for this build, there will be 2 deck builds for this. So, the post will be a bit longer than usual as I'll be using 2 different engine. The newer cards like BT18 and EX8 can definitely improve this build, so there will be plenty of room for improvement.

How to play One Piece Card Game in 2024

I should have posted this first before the One Piece Deck Profiles, but I guess it is better late than never. Anyway, One Piece is very basic compare to Digimon card game, there's not as much keywords involved, so we don't need to remember those keywords like Digimon. I might only update this when One Piece decided to add new stuff like colours or new keywords, otherwise I can keep it at is it unlike Digimon Card Game which I know I will to update the rules every year.

OP08 Yellow (Vegapunk) Deck Profile

With the help of new Egghead stuff in OP08 set, it made Vegapunk build a lot better to use. However, the one major downside to this build is that we start with 2 Life. Its better if your opponents don't play aggro decks, but if they do, that 2 Life can be gone very quick, making the game end. But against mid range to long turn decks, Vegapunk will become effect. Then again, it will depends on what card you have draw as not drawing the right cards to set up the Life cards could really hurt.

OP08 Red (Zoro) Deck Profile

Looks like the new support made Zoro even more aggressive, especially with the help of spamming Characters to the field for free. We don't need to focus on the old build where we mainly focus on low level and Rush. Now we can focus more on Chopper and spamming Animals to the field, creating a board ready to attack your opponent's cards.

OP08 Purple (Kaido) Deck Profile

The new cards in OP08 set suits purple Kaido really well, especially when we can constantly spam this Leader's effect without worrying about losing 7 DONs in a turn. I personally think Kaido is one of the old Starter deck Leader where we can actually make changes using some cards from the new sets. Purple do have a lot of powerful cards, it is all about putting them together in a deck.

OP08 Green (Bonney) Deck Profile

Just like the Queen build, Bonney won't have much of a changed compare to OP07 build as I've only added 1 new card and called a deck from OP08 set. The style of this build is still the same, but also mixing 2 different type of Pirates in this build to bring out the full control. The deck will work if you managed to search the right cards which isn't hard to do, stopping your opponents from doing what they want normal as they will need to think of ways to get around the effect.

OP08 Blue/Yellow (Queen) Deck Profile

Not much of an update for this build, but I guess I could fit in one new card and call it a new deck. This build is very defensive but we also got control at the same time. The more we can stall, the longer that Queen will become effective. Of course, we would lose against aggro decks since they can spam Characters before we could play our defensive cards.

The Dragonic Overlord Archetype

A fun fact is that the name Overlord TCGz comes from this guy Dragonic Overlord as this was my favourite card in the Cardfight Vanguard game. But of course that game changed, so I began losing interests as it was nothing compare to before. The formats before G was fun, although G was okay until they introduced G Guard, at that stage is where power creep began, but this is my personal opinions. Some people might think G was the start of power creep era, because of VG having massive power.

OP08 Black (Luffy (ST14)) Deck Profile

As there are 2 Black Luffy Leaders from the card pool, I decided to write the card number down so people won't get confused. Funny enough both Black Luffy Leaders are from a Starter deck, it will just depends on which one you've bought. Although, this Luffy Leader do perform better because of the continuous 6k Leader if we can reach a certain requirements along with being a mono colour, so we can start with 5 Life cards.

OP08 Red/Green (Chopper) Deck Profile

What I like about this Chopper deck is that even though we have Red, it is not related to the Straw Hats as we are more focus on Drum Kingdom Arc. I've also heard that there's a combo for Chopper build which lets you spam Characters for free and fill up the board. But obviously, when there's combo, there's always the moment of needing those cards to work, and if your opponents doesn't care about combos, then it will hurt this build the most. The red and green colour already gave me an idea of how to build this deck.

OP08 Purple/Black (King) Deck Profile

Looks like we've got King with the mask off. Out of all the Leaders in OP08 set, King is the one that is the odd one out in terms of strength wise. So I've been finding cards that can suit King's effect so we don't lose out on the DONs. Luckily, Purple have plenty of ramp cards we could use in this build, but mostly I'll be utilising the returning DONs for this build.

OP08 Yellow (Kalgara) Deck Profile

I like this kind of deck, this deck is all about all or nothing. However, I think the lack of Shandorian Warriors is the deck drawback. But then again, could Bandai be worried about being OP right off the bat? Who knows. This kind of build suits my style more but unfortunately, I don't have some of these cards in real life, so building the deck will be a pain even though it doesn't have a lot of high rarity cards, just consist of commons and rares.

GUNDAM CARD GAME Revealed

Bandai has been on a role with releases of new card games, HOWEVER, what I know Bandai for is Gundam stuff. I know Battle Spirits does Gundam collabs, but it is still using Battle Spirits mechanic and not really itself. I am very looking forward to this as a Gundam fan. I can sell my Digimon stuff for this game, and transfer the card sleeves over, as I feel Digimon have gotten very expensive with the recent sets, and getting specific promos are harder. So I will just break down some of the key stuff in this video.

OP08 Red/Blue (Marco) Deck Profile

Took them a while, but they've finally made Marco Leader. However, I think the new Whitebeard starter deck coming out this month will improve this build by a bit, especially getting access to some of the new Whitebeard cards. Right now, I'm just building this using OP08 set. In future if I have got time, I will post an update version of this deck, and if you are waiting for the new version of Marco, then I'll suggest don't bother reading the rest of this post.

OP08 Purple/Yellow (Pudding) Deck Profile

A ramp deck with Life gain abilities is a deck that I would take. Unfortunately, some of the cards in this build won't be cheap, so if you want to build this in real life, then good luck on your wallet. I am mainly running high cost Characters as we've got plenty of ramp to play those Characters with ease. We also already have some cards that could make use of Pudding Leader's effect, mainly EB01 set.
