The Dimensional Robos Archetype

I think we can ignore the V Series of Dimensional Robo series, as they didn't even put the transformation effort like the old series in this video. Dimensional Robos are all part of combining together to become even more powerful, like Power Rangers in the West, but there's a few anime where the idea of Dimensional Robos could come from. GaoGaiGar could be one of them since the design concept looks very similar.

What I like about Dimensional Robo is that they powered up the centre line, so the VG circle. The more power, the better especially with Daikaiser who have the ability to nullify sentinels when the requirements is met. This was a pretty strong mechanic, but like all card games, it is a very luck base mechanic, so to hit the effect at the right time was all about luck. It does makes your opponents overguard which was the best thing about the mechanic as they wouldn't want to take 3-4 damage in one go and that is not including critical triggers.

As there are a lot of Dimensional Robo stuff, I will just shorten this to up to Legion as I haven't played much of the G Dimensional Robo stuff. I think it was because the set was released at the end of G, and by that time I wasn't interested in VG, so my knowledge about them are pretty low. But before the G stuff, I have the knowledge for previous Dimensional Robo stuff as it was one of the builds I used a lot.

Daiyusha

When it comes to Daiyusha, it will be these 3 cards, original Daiyusha and the 2 forms. Daiyusha is a card that came out in Season 1, in one of the very early set as well. Although Dimensional Robo didn't get fully support until Season 2, so at that time Daiyusha was the only Grade 3. The effect is simple, at the beginning of your attack step, if this unit's power is 14k or more, this unit gains +1 Critical. This was difficult to do in Season 1 as we didn't have the cards to power up Daiyusha, making this effect pretty useless until later on the game.

Great Daiyusha was introduced in Season 2, and this was the start of the Dimensional Robos era.  When Great Daiyusha was introduced in Season 2 and showed off the transformation in the anime, we know we want to try pulling off that move once. The Limit Break 4 effect is during your turn, if the number of cards in soul with DR in its name is three or more, this unit gains 2k power and +1 critical. Three was a lot back then considering there wasn't a lot of DR units during Season 2. But more importantly, this also put Daiyusha into use as Great Daiyusha was a cross ride unit making your VG a 13k base for the entire game, and what's more the critical part don't need to be at the beginning of attack step, making Great Daiyusha really good.

Then, we've got Daiyusha Reverse, and this was the sad part for me since I actually wanted Daikaiser reverse as there were a lot of break ride got reverse counterparts. But I think it might be too broken if we've combined Daikaiser with Daikaiser Reverse, we never know. Anyway Daiyusha Reverse uses a different strategy. We've actually seen this mechanic in Season 2, but they applied it on this card. Instead of gaining power, we reduced your opponent's power instead. What's more the Limit Break 4 is not once per turn, so as long as we can lock RGs, we can keep reusing this effect over and over again. The LB4 effect is paying 1 counter blast and locking 2 of your DR RGs, 1 of your opponent's VG loses 10k power. Well, what we did when this was released was combining this with Daikaiser Break Ride, so your opponents would have to use a lot of shields to stop this attack, or it will hurt. The best part was combining this with Stand triggers. Of course, just like Great Daiyusha, this was also a Cross Ride unit for Daiyusha, although I don't think I even used Daiyusha with this card.

Daikaiser

In the end Bushi favoured Daikaiser even though Daiyusha was the original Dimensional Robo for the archetype, considering we've got a Legion and Daikaiser G Unit. I actually forgotten all about this G unit, I only remembered when I was looking at Daikaiser stuff. Daikaiser is the main unit and also the break ride unit for DR. The Break Ride effect is your VG gains 10k power and +1 critical, then when this unit's drive check revealed a G3 DP, retire 1 of your opponent's shields and cannot be hit effects are nullified. I remember the time where we run a lot of Grade 3s in the deck just to try and hit this effect and retire your opponent's shields.

Great Daikaiser was the first unit with triple drive, this was before triple drive became normal. We can also say CROSS BREAK RIDE. There is a downside is that the counter blasts must be DR. Great Daikaiser isn't strong by itself but when combined with Daikaiser then we have a deadly combo. 2 counter blasts for an extra drive back then was rare, back then Bushi tried to balance thing so cards doesn't become broken.

We also got Great Daikaiser Legion who can use Great Daiyusha as the mate. There are 2 effects, the first effect is getting 3 or more DR in soul for this unit to gain +1 Critical. Then, we also have an effect that is similar to Daikaiser's break ride effect. When this unit's drive check a G3, and your Legion mate's critical is 2 or more, by paying 1 counter, choose one of your opponent's shields, retire it, and cannot be hit effects are nullified. Of course to increase the chances of removing 2 shields in one go, we decided to combine this with Daikaiser's break ride for the extra removal. Removing 2 shields can be very deadly, but you do have to pay 1 counter for this Great Daikaiser Legion to use the effect. The only downside is that it can be very slow especially during the Legion era where we focus on setting up the drop zone to perform Legion. Whilst to maximize this Great Daikaiser Legion, we need to focus on Daikaiser Break Ride.

Lastly we have Daikaiser Leon. It is a GB2 effect, but the effect is basically the same as Daikaiser. You do need Daikaiser as the heart card for the effect to work. when this unit's drive check revealed a G3, retire 1 of your opponent's shields and cannot be hit effects are nullified. This was wait better than Great Daikaiser since we don't need to pay 2 counter blasts for the extra drive check, and this will give you 3 drive check automatically as this is a G unit.

Daikaiser's Support

It was a shame that Kaisergrader was released during the G era whereas this card was out in JPN format before Legion/G era. So us English players missed the super ride into Daikaiser then into Great Daikaiser. Kaisergrader's effect lets you put this in soul and needing Kaizard as the VG circle, and your opponents need to have a G3 or high to be able to superior ride into Daikaiser. This is the only reason why we run Kaizard in build as Kaizard only has a VG effect.

Whilst ShadowKaiser only works if your VG is Daikaiser, you will be able to search for Great Daikaiser, not the Legion to superior ride, and triggering the cross break ride combo. These cards in Daikaiser build aren't bad, especially when we can superior ride the right G3s with ease instead of top deck the cards.

Superior Ride

More superior ride mechanic in DR archetype, but these cards work for any DR G3s rather than the Daikaiser supports. So even without Daikaiser supports we could use these cards. Plus they both looks the same when it comes to the artwork. I think this is the main part. Goyusha is the starting vanguard, but the requirements needs at least 4 DR RGs to superior ride into a G3. Of course, during season 2, this was very hard to pull off, but in season 3 where we got a lot more DR stuff making this effect very easy to pull off.

Daiheart on the other hand you will need to power the VG up, not only that, it needs to hit and you need 2 G3s with DR in its name in your hand to work in order to superior ride. Is it worth it? no, I rather use Goyusha even though you need 4 DR. I still think it is an easier requirement than Daiheart.

Daird was a fun G3 to run. Not only that we can superior ride a G3, but we also have Daiyusha's effect. The superior riding is a LB4 effect, so we need 4 damage to work and you need to put another DR to soul, but the new VG will gains 4k power. Speaking of which, Daird does works well with Great Daiyusha as we would be able to set a number of DR in soul for Great Daiyusha to gain power and crit. The other effect which is just Daiyusha but a 11k base VG, so instead of 14k, you need this to reach 15k for +1 critical, which is not difficult to do.

The Soul

The cards that work best with Goyusha's effect because these cards can activate from the soul. Daibattles and Daimariner has the exact same effect, no surprised there because they are released in the same set along with Goyusha. By putting these cards from soul to drop zone, 1 of your VG gains 3k power. Unfortunately, we won't be able to trigger Daiyusha's effect with 3k power bonus, but we could trigger Great Daiyusha's effect.

Daibrave on the other hand give us the draw power we need. This was released in a starter deck, and the extra draw power will definitely help, especially when we are running Daikaiser build who wants to drive check G3s. However, the draw effect only works on hit, and since you need to soul blast this card, that effect is more like one time only.

Power

As time move on, we've got more power boosters to give the VG more power. Daimagnum would be the prefer starting VG over Goyusha because you only need to put this in soul to give your VG 4k power. That 4k power can be very important as cards like Daiheart would be able to use their effects straightaway,

Dailander and Daidriller have the exact same effect where you need to pay 1 counter blast for the extra 4k bonus. Of course these 2 cards are released in different era, one was in Great Daiyusha era and the other was in Daikaiser era, but it's good to have a G1 and a G2 version who could do the same job.

Daibarrett is a promo card and I think this got released at the same time as Great Daikaiser Legion, because I know when I was playing Daikaiser Legion, this card already existed. I don't know when it came out in English though. This effect could give DR some retiring capabilities. Again, we do give 4k power to the VG, but we also moves Daibarret to soul, easily triggering Great Daiyusha's effect.

Beat Sticks

The beat sticks, these cards were very good in DR builds, especially with Daiyusha Reverse, so we could force your opponents to use more shields. Just like Dailander and Daidriller, these 2 are released in different era, Daidragon was in Great Daiyusha era and Daitiger was in Daikaiser era. Daitiger becomes a 10k beat stick when it attacks and Daidragon becomes a 12k beat stick. I know this doesn't mean anything these days since VG have changed quite a lot where there are so much power, these beat sticks don't exists anymore, but back then, these cards can make a difference in the number of shields they need to guard with.

Goeagle

Unfortunately, there is 1 card that never came out in English, and never will since the old VG has ended ages ago. This card we are talking about is Goeagle. Back then Goeagle works very well with Daird's effect, but we do need extra power bonus to make Goeagle a deadly beat stick.

As you can see, normally DR units only need one 4k power boost for the VG to gain a critical, but Goeagle needs 2 4k power boost as the requirements is 19k VG. Once we've reached 19k VG, Goeagle gains +2 critical. You heard it, +2 critical, so thats 3 damage if this card hits. If we've combined this with Daikaiser's break ride effects, that +3 critical, obviously the downside is maintaining the 19k power once per turn. You can easily run out of those power boosts since we can only run 50 cards deck, and 16 of them are triggers, leaving 34 cards left to run other cards. Makes that 30 since 4 PGs would be a must. That is not a lot of room to maintain Goeagle's effect.
