We've got some new Puppet support from BT22 set, but in the end, we will still focus on Kaguyamon instead of Cendrill. Thanks to EX9 support, the Puppet deck was already pretty good, but now if we add the stuff from BT22, the deck can become even better. Although, you could make a Cendrill deck with BT22 stuff, but those 2 builds will be very similar.
BT22 Kaguya |
---|
How it Works?
The deck is very straightforward as we will be spamming Lv4 or less Puppet Digimon to fill up the field. The more you play, the deadlier Nyaboot becomes, and we haven't include Puppet Tokens in this build. Although, the one main card we must digivolve is Kaguya. Kaguya will give all your Puppet Digimon Blocker as well as Alliance. But if we've got Blockers, then we can trigger Kaguya's second ability which is removal. Not only we can stop your opponent's attacks, but we can also take out your opponent's Digimon.
I've tried to add more digivolve cost reducer, but the room is very tight as I need most of these cards in the deck for what they do. Digivolving into Kaguya is the priority, but if you can, you can also go Nyaboot. Having both Kaguya and Nyaboot is a deadly combination as 1 can play Digimon from trash whilst the other can play Digimon from hand. This is also why I am running plenty of searchers, so you won't have difficulties in getting the cards to the field.
Free Play
The key part to this deck is definitely playing our low level Digimon for free, and 3 of these Digimon can do that with ease whilst the other mainly play Tamers for free. Nyaboot is a very strong card if you can get it to the field. The alternative digivolve cost is while you have Arisa on the field, you can digivolve on top of Chaperomon for 6. Its a nice cheat if we don't draw our megas, but we do need 2 cards on the field. We have Overclock ability and 2 effects. The first effect works when digivolving, you may play 1 Lv4 or less Puppet trait from your hand without paying the cost. Then, 1 of your opponent's Digimon loses 3k DP for each of your Digimon until the end of their turn. The more Digimon we have on the field, the more deadlier this card becomes. The second effect works all turns and once per turn, when any of your other Digimon is deleted, you may activate this Digimon's when digivolving effect. Thanks to this effect, we can constantly spam Nyaboot's when digivolving effect as long as we can play those Digimon.
In my opinion, Kaguya plays another huge role for this deck, but if you can get Nyaboot and Kaguya on the field, this would be the ideal scenario. Kaguya has an alternative digivolve cost which is digivolve on top of a Lv5 Puppet trait for 3, then we have 3 effects. The first effect works all turns, all of your Tokens and Puppet trait Digimon gains Alliance and Blocker. This first effect is very important as we will be able to spam plenty of Digimon and use them as Blocker. The second effect also works all turns, once per turn, when another Digimon is deleted, delete 1 of your opponent's Digimon with the lowest level. What I like about this ability is that this also works during battle, so you could swing your opponent's Digimon, then trigger this effect to delete another Digimon. The last effect works at the end of your turn, once per turn, you may play 1 Lv4 or less Puppet trait Digimon from your trash without paying the cost. If you can get Lv4 or less in your trash, you will be able to spam this effect more easily than Nyaboot's from hand effect.
EX7 Chaperomon is another Digimon who could play Digimon from your hand as well as having the Overclock ability. The effect works when digivolving, you may play one Lv3 Digimon with Puppet trait from your hand without paying the cost. The inherited effect is when this Digimon would leave the battle area other than by one of your effects, by deleting 1 of your Tokens or 1 of your other Digimon with Puppet trait, prevent it from leaving the field. This inherited effect is very important as we need Kaguya to stay on the field for Blockers and Alliance keyword.
EX7 ShoeShoe only plays Tamers from your hand instead of Digimon. Well, since this deck is also running plenty of Tamers, and you can easily search them out with this build, this effect is great. works when digivolving, if you have 1 or less Tamers in play, you may play 1 Arisa from your hand without paying the cost. However, what we also want is the inherited effect as the inherited effect will make our attacks much more deadlier. The inherited effect is all of your opponent's Security Digimon loses 3k DP. 3k is a lot especially when we are only hitting for small numbers since we are spamming low level Digimon in this build.
Cendrill's Evolution Line
Cendrill's evolution line is almost filled with the newer cards that got released aside from Shoemon since the old Shoemon's effect are still very good for this build. BT22 Cendrill is just like any other Cendrill where we have an Overclock ability, but we can digivolve for 3 instead of 4. There are 2 effects, the first effect works on play or when digivolving, you may play 1 Familiar Token. The second effect works all turns, and it is the exact same as Nyaboot's effect where once per turn, when any of your other Digimon is deleted, you may activate this Digimon's when digivolving effect. This effect would allow us to spam Tokens to the field especially combined with Kaguya creating plenty of Blockers or numbers for Alliance ability.
BT22 Chaperomon also have Overclock ability just like the other Chaperomon we've seen. The only difference is that we need to have Arisa on the field in order to use this effect, and the effect also works from hand. If you have Arisa on your field, by placing 1 ShoeShoe from your trash under 1 of your Shoemon's bottom digi source, it digivolves this card for the cost of 3 ignoring the digivolve requirements. We are only running 8 Lv4s, so having this effect is very helpful as we could digivolve into the Megas. The inherited effect is exact same as EX7 version where when this Digimon would leave the battle area other than by one of your effects, by deleting 1 of your Tokens or 1 of your other Digimon with Puppet trait, prevent it from leaving the field.
P-165 ShoeShoe is another promo and an important promo to have in the deck if you can get this card. We've got 2 effects, the first effect is a security effect where at the end of the battle, play this card without paying the cost. Of course, we will need to be lucky to see this card in the security. The second effect works on play or when digivolving, play 1 Familiar Token, and at the end of your opponent's turn, delete that Token. Unfortunately, you will need to make use of the Token played by this effect as we can't keep it on the field like Cendrill's effect. The inherited effect is Barrier and Barrier is only good against during battle whilst Chapero can protect against effects.
Lastly ST19 Shoemon who is mainly our searcher to search for the key cards of the deck. The more cards you can search, the more choices we can play from hand. The effect works on play, reveal the top 3 cards of your deck, add 1 card with Puppet trait and 1 card with Liberator trait among them to your hand. Return the rest to the bottom of the deck in any order. Aside from Physical Training, you can add at least 2 cards when you use this on play effect which is very handy. The inherited effect is the exact same as EX7 ShoeShoe where all of your opponent's Security Digimon loses 3k DP. If you can stack these 2 effect together, then you can easily reduce your opponent's Security Digimon to 0.
Reducing Costs
What I like about this deck is the cards who can help you reduce the digivolve cost so we can digivolve into our megas pretty easily. Karakuru can be digivolve on top of a Lv4 Puppet trait Digimon for 3, so we don't need to pay the full 4 cost. The effect works on play or when digivolving, by deleting 1 of your Tokens or other Puppet trait Digimon, this Digimon may digivolve into a Puppet trait Digimon without paying the cost. The one downside is that we will need a card on the field before we can use the effect to digivolve into our Megas. The inherited effect is the exact same as Chapero where when this Digimon would leave the battle area other than by one of your effects, by deleting 1 of your Tokens or 1 of your other Digimon with Puppet trait, prevent it from leaving the field. So no matter which Lv5s you digivolve into, you will have the same effect.
EX7 Shoemon is very simple, and it is one of the main card I want to digivolve on top of the digi egg instead of using ST19 Shoemon. The main effect is when this Digimon would digivolve into a Digimon with Puppet trait, reduce the digivolution cost by 1. This will make our Lv4s only costing 1 to digivolve and if you got Karakuru, you could potentially digivolve into Kaguya in 1 turn, but that is only if you've got the field set up. The inherited effect is exact same as ST19 Shoemon and EX7 ShoeShoe where all of your opponent's Security Digimon loses 3k DP. We have 3 cards who can reduce your opponent's Security Digimon, so you shouldn't worry too much about high DP Digimon.
Fable Waltz is the exact name of the starter deck for Cendrill if you have noticed. Now, this name have been turned into a card. There are 2 effects, the first effect is you may play 1 Shoemon or Arisa from your hand or trash. Then, place this card in the battle area. This effect is not bad at all, especially this could allow us to recycle Shoemon who ended up in the trash area. The second effect is when any of your Arisa Tamer suspend, Delay, 1 of your Puppet trait Digimon may digivolve into a Puppet and LIBERATOR trait Digimon from your hand with the digivolve cost reduced by 3. You could use this effect with Karakuru allowing you to digivolve into the Megas for free in 1 turn. The security effect is activate this card's main effects.
Physical Training is still needed in my opinion as I don't want to rely on Fable Waltz to do the job, plus it is another searcher to search out cards from your deck. The main effect is reveal the top 2 cards of your deck, add 1 yellow card among them to your hand. Place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. Then, place this card in your battle area. The second effect is a delay effect, 1 of your Digimon may digivolve into a yellow Digimon from your hand with the digi cost reduced by 2. You could use this effect when you would digivolve into your Lv4s, so they could become 0, then digivolve on top with Karakuru to trigger Karakuru's effect to digivolve into a mega for free in one turn. It won't matter if your opponents only give you 1 memory, we only need a set up to digivolve from Lv3 to Lv6 in a turn. The security effect is place this card in the battle area.
Puppet Supports
The Puppet supports are very straightforward, and most of them can be played using Nyaboot or Kaguya's effect. ST16 Namakemon is the 1 card we won't be able to digivolve, but to be honest, I am not using Namake for digivolving as I am mainly aiming for the effect. The effect works on play or when digivolving, if you have 3 or more security, 1 of your Digimon can't have DP reduced or De-Digivolve by your opponent's effects until the end of their turn. If you have 3 or less security, 1 of your Digimon gains Blocker and Reboot until the end of your opponent's turn. Ideally, if we could get 3 Security, we would be able to trigger all the effect protecting our key Digimon. Kaguya can make Namake a Blocker as well as bring it back from the trash so we can constantly spam the effect to protect our Digimon. The inherited effect is useless as I am not running Pulsemon in this deck.
Kokeshi is one of the Lv4s where we can't hard play the card to trigger the effect. You can digivolve on top of a Lv3 Puppet for cost of 2. The effect works when digivolving or on deletion, by trashing 1 card from your hand, 1 of your opponent's Digimon loses 4k DP. This might be a bit difficult to trigger if you don't have your Tokens on the field for DP reduction. The inherited effect works during your opponent's turn, once per turn, when 1 of your opponent's Digimon attacks, by deleting 1 of your Digimon, end the attack. This effect is great for protecting Kaguya from being deleted unless your opponents has multiple high DP Digimon on the field.
There are 2 PawnChess in ST19 deck, the one difference is that 1 has no inherited effect and the other has inherited effect, and we want to use this card with the inherited effect. Unfortunately, we would need to hard play PawnChess, otherwise, we will need to pay the 1 for digivolving. The effect works on play, by trashing 1 Puppet trait from your hand, draw 2 cards. This would allow you to put certain cards to the trash area so we can play those cards using Kaguya's effect. The inherited effect is Reboot, and Reboot is very good combined with Kaguya, as we don't want Kaguya to be an attack target, so your opponents will need removal to remova Kaguya from the field.
Personally, I like to run P-134 Shoemon, however, you can replace this card with other Puppet cards or other Shoemon as this is personal preference slot. The effect works on play, 1 of your opponent's Digimon loses a Security Attack until the end of your opponent's turn. This will allow you to protect your Security area until you can get Kaguya to the field to make everything a Blocker. Unfortunately, your opponent can still use that Digimon to attack your suspending Digimon as they won't be able to deal any damage with that Digimon anyway. The inherited effect works when attacking, 1 of your opponent's Digimon loses 2k DP.
Tamers
The Kinosaki Sisters if you know, although my main focus is on Arisa mainly because she works better in this build whilst there is only 1 Mirai in the game. BT22 Arisa has 2 effects, the first effect works at the start of your main phase, by returning this Tamer to the bottom of the deck, you may play 1 Arisa from your hand without paying the cost. Then, if you don't have a Digimon, you may play 1 Shoemon from your trash without paying the cost. This effect is pretty useful, especially when I want to play the other Arisa from my hand. You will struggle using the other part of the effect unless your opponent can constantly board wipe your field. The second effect works all turns, when any of your Tokens or Puppet trait Digimon are played, by suspending this Tamer, draw 1 card. We do need as much cards as possible in our hand, considering most of the cards in this build usually play cards from the hand instead of the trash, so having this draw power is really useful. The security effect is play this card without paying the cost.
P-136 Arisa is a great card to have in the deck, but if you can't find this card, then you will need to use EX7 Arisa who is similar but not as good as this Arisa. Arisa has 2 effects, the first effect works on play, you may play 1 Shoemon from your hand without paying the cost. Shouldn't be too difficult to do with the amount of searchers in the build, but what I am aiming for is the second effect. The second effect works once per turn, when 1 of your Digimon digivolves into a Puppet trait Digimon, gain 1 memory. If you can have multiple P-136 version on the field, we could gain plenty of memory to use even though, we could digivolve for free. The security effect is play this card without paying the cost.
ST19 Arisa is a memory setter which is important for this build to digivolve all the way to our megas. The other effect is when an effect plays one of your Tokens or a Digimon with Puppet trait, by suspending this Tamer, that Digimon gains Rush. This will enable our hard play Digimon to attack on that turn if we managed not to pass memory to your opponent's turn. The security effect is play this card without paying the cost.
Mirai is okay depending on how you look at the card. The first effect works on play, reveal the top 3 cards of your deck, add 1 Puppet or LIBERATOR trait among them to your hand. Place the rest at the bottom of your deck. If you can spam ST19 Shoemon's effect, this search effect won't be needed, but if you don't have ST19 Shoemon, then, this effect can help you search the card you need. The second effect is when any of your Digimon digivolves into a Puppet trait Digimon, by returning this Tamer to the bottom of the deck, you may play 1 Arisa or Puppet trait Digimon with the reduced play cost of 3. Basically, we want to play our 3 cost cards, otherwise we would be passing memory to your opponents, or giving more memory to your opponents than necessary. However, there are certain situations where we would need to play high cost Digimon, like our low cost Digimon keeps getting deleted, so we couldn't digivolve on top. The security effect is play this card without paying the cost.
