The ban list turns out different from what I've expected. I really thought Giant would be banned, but turns out, that card is safe, so any SH decks can comfortably run Giant at 4. What I am surprised is cards being unbanned. Then again, certain cards are only banned because of certain Leader. Speaking of which, they banned a Leader card, and it is one of the old Leader that will be out of rotation next year, so I'm surprised. I didn't know that Leader still made a huge impact in the tournament considering the meta. However, looking at OP13 set, I think that's the only reason why that Leader is banned, considering OP13 have plenty of draw power introduced.
The ban list have the same date for both EN and JP format, so it will come into effect at the end of the month. But I feel like they could have hit more cards as it seems disappointing.
Banned Pairing
If you are playing Snakeman Luffy, you won't be able to use OP11 Katakuri or OP08 Linlin in the build. Literally the main BM Pirates engine for the deck, well I guess that will slow the defensive side down now OP11 Katakuri and Linlin will be gone. But that will also leave room for us to use other cards in the deck. Should be plenty of cards we could use from the SH side of thing instead of using BM Pirates engine.
Banned Leader
As predicted, it's because they want to use draw power for blue, and when it comes to draw power, we all think about Nami since she wants to mill yourself out to win. But banning Nami means now blue will be able to get new cards with more draw power for the deck. I think they've shot themselves on the foot when they created Nami's Leader effect.
Unbanned Cards
OP02 Cabaji being unbanned make sense since it was Nami Leader that got this card banned, now that Nami is banned, this card can back to the game. What I am more surprised is Akainu Leader getting unbanned. The new OP12 set have some new blue Navy support, so I will be looking forward to add those to Akainu instead of Kuzan. Although, we have lost Ice Age and Moria, so maybe this deck is not as great as before.
