MDPro3 Simulator

As you know, I like simulators as they help me access the cards I don't have or preparing for the future builds if I'm planning to build the deck in real life, but it also depends if they have put the effort in making the simulator or not. I've came across using MDPro3 for a while now, it is just a Master Duel, but with more access to the formats and don't need to grind cards.

Personally, it is a simulator which I use more over Edopro. I really like MDPro3, it has a lot of functions that Master Duel doesn't have. With the latest MDPro3 update, this is now my go to simulator for YGO games.

The Formats

Not only you can use OCG, TCG and MD format, but you can also go all the way to 2011 ban list. I don't remember much of the 2011 ban list, but I think Goyo and Brionac was limited to 1 and Dark Fighter was banned as Dark Fighter could create infinite loop with the burn damage. Of course, there's also the unlimited ban list format, and it is the one I'll definitely not touch.

As you can see TCG ban list have totally screwed me over with my main deck Synchrons. Not only Baronne got hit, but the Diabellstar engine also got hit meaning I won't be able to use Accel Stardust easily. Whereas in the OCG and MD format, those cards are still playable for my Synchrons deck. Sure, Maxx C is available, but I definitely take Maxx C over the TCG ban list.

OCG and MD format are very similar, some decks might not make a difference if you switch between those 2 formats, whilst decks like my Synchrons, you have to make OCG, TCG and MD build. Although, I don't care about Synchrons in TCG as long as Baronne is banned, I'll just continue playing OCG or MD format in the game.

Customisations

If you only play MD, then the customisations will lack variety. It makes sense for me since this is just bootleg MD, and if they copied all the latest customisations, then Konami could file a lawsuit. For me who rarely plays on MD, these customisations is still a lot.

Some people may find Character voices annoying, but you can disable that as it is optional to choose a Character or not. This is the one thing I like about this sim over MD. Of course, these Characters will be able to say their key card names when you summon them, listening their chants. However, if you play the game too long, it can get a bit annoying.

Deck Case, Sleeves, Icons I think MD has more, but I haven't been on MD for a long time to actually find out the different. So if you prefer a lot of customisations then, I would stick with MD over this sim, since MD is official Konami sim where you have frequently rank tournaments.

Access to Latest Cards

When it comes to supports, MD is a little bit behind, but it makes sense, since it will take a while for MD to fully catch up with TCG/OCG format. Whilst on MDPro3, you can use the latest revealed cards on the sim, and when they arrive on MD, you know which cards to get and how many copies to get, so you won't be wasting gems. This is the part I am not a big fan of when it comes to MD. Sure, it is worth it in the end, but I don't know how long I need to grind just to get my ideal build up and running, whereas MDPro3, I have access to the cards straight away, also changing it with different combinations if they deck doesn't work.

AI Duels

We also have AI duels, personally just like the other AI duels from other sim, they are not very good unless they use a deck full of banned cards. I'll just use these AI to practice the combos and work my way up, since you don't always remember what combo the deck does after playing other card games, or you've been focusing on mastering one specific deck in YGO. It is easy to forget in this game, since YGO has a lot of ways to combo into specific boss monsters. There might be 1 card combo, but you don't always get to see the specific cards.

Conclusion

I might have miss some stuff for MDPro3 as I am still learning on this sim. But at the moment, I just use this to practice using my Synchrons deck trying all sort of engine to find what's the best suited for me. However, being on MD or OCG format definitely work better than TCG. Those formats is not as much anti anti hand traps compare to TCG who literally limited all the anti hand trap cards that are effective.
