EB03 Blue (Kuzan) Deck Profile

For Kuzan or Aokiji, whatever you call him, have a lot of Navy supports for this build. But the main supports come from EB04 set, but I needed that 1 card from EB03 to actually post this build. For this build, discarding cards is not a con, but a plus instead and since the effect is not once per turn, we can easily draw a lot of cards depending on how many cards you've discard.

EB03 Kuzan

How it Works?

I wouldn't worry about too many non counters as we could discard these cards from hand with our effects. I've also tried to cramp as much Navy cards as possible, since there are a lot of effects that can work well with Kuzan Leader as they have discarding effects. The deck is very straight forward as you will be just playing Navy Characters, trigger their discard effect to draw cards. For the removal effect, that will be all about timing in choosing which Characters we want to return, and which Characters you can attack into.

Returning

When it comes to returning, we have these cards that can focus on returning your opponent's Characters. OP06 Tsuru would work best if your opponent has only 1 Character on the field, otherwise, we would be mainly using her for the 2k counter. The effect works on play, you may trash 2 cards from your hand, your opponent returns 1 of their Character to the owner's hand. On the bright side, we would be able to gain 2 new cards thanks to Kuzan's effect.

EB03 Hina was the card I was waiting for before posting a new Kuzan build. The effect works on play, you may trash 1 card to return one 6k base power or less Character to the owner's hand. We can choose any Characters we want, but of course, you want to target your opponent's Characters, unless you want to use on play effects again like OP06 Tsuru.

OP12 Z(Navy) is another card with 2k counter. Z has 2 effects, the first effect works on play, trash 2 cards from your hand. This will be just a hand filter effect if we do end up getting cards we won't be using. The second effect is an activate main, you may trash this Character to return one 5 cost or less to the owner's hand. Personally, you want to attack with this Character first before using the effect, unless you are desperate in preventing that card from attacking. We could also target our own Characters just like Hina so we could reuse on play effects on some of our cards again.

Hand Returning

I don't know if you want to call this hand destruction, because technically, they won't be losing their cards as we are returning them back to deck. OP06 Pudding only works if your opponent has large hand size. The effect works on play, your opponent returns all cards in their hand and shuffles their deck. Then, your opponent draws 5 new cards.

Gion on the other hand only works when your opponent uses an Event during your turn, and a lot decks are running Events that has main and counter effect, so this card could be effect. The effect works once per turn, when your opponent activates an Event, your opponent must place 1 card from their hand to the bottom of the deck.

EB04 Issho work nice with our returning cards to hand effects as we will be increasing your opponent's hand size by returning their Characters to their hand. Issho has 2 effects, the first effect works on play, you may trash 2 cards from your hand, if your opponent has 6 or more cards in their hand, your opponent places 2 cards from their hand to the bottom of the deck in any order. This will make your opponent maintain a low hand size. The second effect will need you to attach a DON for the effect to work. The effect works when attacking, you may trash 1 card from your hand, 1 of your opponent's Characters power loses 2k for the turn. This would help make our attacks more easier to hit against your opponent's Characters.

Draw

We do have some draw power, even though Kuzan's Leader is not once per turn. Bluegrass has 2 effects, the first effect works on play, place 1 of your opponent's 1 cost or less to the bottom of the owner's deck. Honestly, this only works against very specific cards, so I am mainly aiming for the second effect. The second effect works when attacking, draw 1 card and trash 1 card from your hand. This would usually be a hand filter effect, but thanks to Kuzan's effect, we will be drawing 2 cards per turn.

OP12 Sakazuki or Akainu is one of our beat stick in this build. Akainu has 2 effects, the first effect works on play, if your Leader is Navy, draw 2 cards. More draw power to increase your hand size to get the cards you need. The second effect is an activate main, you may trash 1 card from your hand to attach 1 rested DON to your Leader or 1 of your Characters. You can use this effect on Issho who needs DONs to trigger the when attacking effect.

Searchers

`

Draw and Kuzan's effect are not the only cards where we could increase our hand size. We also got 2 searchers in the build so we could get the cards we want. OP06 Tashigi is our turn 1 searcher for the deck. The effect works on play, look at top 5 cards of your deck, reveal up to 1 Navy card other than Tashigi and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order.

OP12 Sengoku is a searcher that only works when we've got 3 DONs to play him to the field. The effect works on play, you may trash 1 card to look at top 5 cards of your deck, reveal up to 2 Navy card except Sengoku and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. The trashing won't matter too much as we would be able to get 3 cards in one turn if the search is successful.

Navy Supports

The rest of the Navy supports are the same as previous build. OP12 Hina is mainly for the 2k counter as the effect is very specific and won't be useful if your opponent doesn't play Blockers. The effect is an activate main, you may rest this Character and trash 1 card from your hand, 1 of your opponent's base cost of 4 or less Characters cannot use the Blocker ability for the turn.

OP12 Kuzan is a card that can stop your opponent's attack for the turn, and also an 8k beat stick for 6. Kuzan has 2 effects, the first effect is more of a continuous effect where if you got 5 or more cards in hand, this Character gains +1 cost. You will be drawing a lot of cards, so this requirement is pretty easy to reach unless you've been using counters from hand. The second effect works on play, you may trash 1 card from your hand, 1 of your opponent's Characters cannot attack until the end of your opponent's turn.

OP12 Garp is able to play all the Navy cards in this build for free. The effect works on play, you may trash 1 card from your hand to play one 8k power or less blue Navy Character except Garp from your hand. Thanks to this effect, we could easily get 2 major beat sticks on the field for 8 DONs.

Events

The Events are very straight forward with an option of adding Gravity Blade to the build as that card is a Navy card that can easily be searched out. Pheasant Peck only has a counter effect which is your Leader or 1 of your Character gains 4k power. Then, trash 1 card from your hand. The trashing won't matter as we will get Kuzan's effect active by drawing a new card. The trigger effect is you may trash 1 card from your hand to draw 1 card.

Ice Time just like the name actually freezes your opponent's Characters from attacking which is very helpful, if we can't spam enough Characters to the field. The main effect is you may trash 1 card from your hand, if your Leader has the Navy type, up to 2 of your opponent's Characters with 10k power or less cannot attack until the end of your opponent's next End Phase. You can actually use Issho's effect as Issho can reduce your opponent's Characters power by 2k, so we can easily make 12k beat stick down to 10k and put a freeze with this Event. The trigger effect is return one 5 cost or less Character to the owner's hand. With the right timing, you could slow your opponent's attacks down with this effect.

Red Roc is still one of our best removal since most of our removal have some sort of cost restrictions. The main effect is place 1 Character to the bottom of the owner's deck. Literally, placing any Characters we like to the bottom of the deck.  The trigger effect is place one 4 cost or less Character to the bottom of the owner's deck.
