OP17 Red (Newgate) Deck Profile

Whitebeard got rebooted and we don't have a 6k base Leader anymore. Instead, we will have to use the effect if we want more power. Although, most of the old WB Pirates supports have rotated out, so we will be stuck with the style from OP16 set until we get another support.

It is that time already where the starter decks are almost here, so we have an unboxing video for these decks. This can tell us how many cards will be in the starter deck, and if we need to buy singles or 2 of each for the play set. Although, with the way these starter decks are set up, buying extra copies is definitely better than buying 2 of each.

More Gunpla releases, but personally, this one is definitely disappointing except I'm thinking of getting MDSD 00 Gundam, because I am a 00 fan. I have heard the new Graham Gundam is coming out this year, but it is 8 years too late. Well at least it is cheaper than the new MG Strike Freedom coming out. Yes another MG Freedom, Bandai loves milking Freedom. Other Gundam desperately need MG version, but they chose Freedom again.

OP17 Purple (Kaido) Deck Profile

Kaido is back, and lucky for us, some of the old Animal Kingdom Pirates cards are still in the rotation, but they are not as good as the Block 1 cards. However, it was surprising that we can still get a lot of ramp without Onigashima from Block 1, so playing the big drops won't be difficult to pull in this build.

OP17 Green (Shanks) Deck Profile

Green has finally got another Leader with a control effect, so when OP07 Bonney rotates out, we can use Shanks instead. Personally, I think Bonney is better as Bonney can rest additional cards whereas Shanks can only target rested Characters, so you need to rely on the deck for rest effects if you want to stop your opponent's attacks.

OP17 Blue (Xebec) Deck Profile

We've got the strongest pirate crew in the series Rocks Pirates, and I am looking forward to the God Valley movie in 2027. We do have 1 drawback with the deck and that will be counters, but with the amount of draw power, I didn't feel that drawback really matters as we have cards that can make up for the non counters.

OP17 Black (Luffy) Deck Profile

Elbaph Luffy is a strange one. I do think we need more supports for Elbaph then I could see this deck really good. We do have some of the old Straw Hat cards we can add to this build. For now, we will stick with what we got, and the Leader's effect will only be like an additional effect due to the lack of cards to make the Leader's effect activate more consistently.
