ST21 Red (Luffy) Deck Profile

ST21 Nika Luffy, this build will get updated when OP10 comes out next week with 1 or 2 cards from that set. Otherwise, the style is just an updated version of ST01 Luffy. There are plenty of ways to build this deck, whether you want this deck to be aggressive as possible, or have some cards that emphasis in removals to reduce your opponent's board, or you could focus on power by utilising rested DONs, or having an Anti Blocker deck since SH has plenty of anti blocker cards, but not every builds will be running Blockers, so anti blocker deck might be out of the window.

ST21 Nika Luffy

How it Works?

I've tried to cramp as much stuff as possible in one deck, no idea if its the way to go mixing different abilities in one build. But I didn't want to focus on Rush alone since there will always be some Characters you really want to remove before they put a threat against your Characters or Leader. The deck will change again when OP10 set comes out as you can ignore this build and wait for that build to come out for ST21 Nika Luffy.

There are plenty of ways of attempting to build this, but for me, I personally like mixing a bit of everything for different scenario. Rush and power reducers are good, but not as good with a bit of removal in the build to remove your opponent's Characters, meaning 1 less attack needed on rested Characters, and we could focus on attacking the Leader instead, forcing your opponents to use up some counters from their hand.

Power Reducers

We do have plenty of power reducers in this build, so trying to remove your opponent's Characters shouldn't be too much of a trouble. Otama is a nice 2k counter 1 drop power reducer we can use for the build. The effect works on play, reduce 1 of your opponent's Characters power by 2k this turn.

Building Snake is just like promo Gordon or Raise Max, it doesn't really matter which one you use as they all have the same effect. The effect is an activate main where you place this Character at the bottom of your deck to reduce 1 of your opponent's Characters power by 3k this turn. 3k is definitely a bit more than 2k which is why I am running Snake in the build.

OP08 Rayleigh would work the best with Otama or Snake if you want to remove 1 of your opponent's Characters. The effect works on play, select up to 2 of your opponent's Characters, reduce 1 of those Character power by 3k and the other by 2k until the end of your opponent's next turn. Then, KO 1 of your opponent's 3k power or less Characters. The power reducing last until your opponent's next turn, weaking their attacks they could do.

Another card that last during your opponent's turn is OP09 Shanks, although Shanks's power reducing effect is more of a permanent effect compare to Rayleigh as long as Shanks is on the field. The effect is reduce all of your opponent's Characters power by 1k, and not only that, we also have Rush ability which is useful if you want to attack right away to get rid of your opponent's Characters.

Rush

I might be running too many Rush Characters in this build. Kid & Killer is optional and can be easily replaced for something else instead. OP01 Zoro only has Rush ability, and I don't know, I am debating whether to use ST21 Zoro instead of OP01 Zoro. But I guess OP01 Zoro only cost 3 DONs to play whereas ST21 Zoro would cost you 4 and a bit extra if you want to trigger the Rush ability.

Kid & Killer works best during mid to late game where your opponent has low health. Not only we have the Rush ability, but an effect that works when attacking. If your opponent has 2 or less Life cards, this card gains 2k power during this turn. This card would be great if we need the power requirements, but I'm not using the power requirements in this build.

ST21 Luffy in my opinion is needed to trigger Nika Luffy's effect, although the effect works when attacking, so we won't be able to avoid trigger effects. The effect is attach 1 rested DON to your Leader or 1 of your Characters. Thanks to this effect, we can give that rested DON to your Leader, and then using the Leader's effect, we could attach 2 rested DONs to 1 of our Characters, powering up our attacks.

ST01 Luffy is in the build because he works the best with Nika Luffy's effect when it comes to using DONs. You do need to attach 2 DONs for ST01 Luffy to work which is the exact number for Nika Luffy's effect. The effect works when attacking, your opponent cannot activate Blockers during this battle. This effect might be only good against Blockers, but we do have a 8k power to swing at your opponent.

Another card I've decided to add is Dragon, too bad I haven't got Garp to complete the family. Dragon's effect also works really well with Nika Luffy Leader. The effect works on play, attach 2 rested DONs to your Leader or 1 of your Characters. Again, we could use Dragon's effect to put the DONs onto the Leader, triggering the Leader's effect, putting rested DONs to another Character powering up your attacks.

Straw Hat Supports

Some of these SH are optional, as I am mainly filling in the spaces until OP10 comes out next week. OP01 Nami is our standard searcher, the effect works on play, look at the top 5 cards of your deck, reveal up to 1 SH card other than Nami and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. Nami is our key searcher and will be our best turn 1 option to play.

ST21 Sanji is similar to Diable Jambe where the effect is one off, but unlike Diable Jambe, we can use Sanji as a counter instead of being a dead card in our hand until the situation is right. The effect works on play, choose 1 of your SH Characters with 6k power or more and your opponents cannot activate Blockers when the chosen Character attacks this turn. 6k power or more isn't too difficult to do with the help of the Leader using rested DONs to power up your Characters.

Of course I am also running OP01 Sanji because OP01 Sanji can be a real beat stick when we use the effect. The effect is an activate main effect, you may add 1 card from your Life cards to your hand. This Character gains 2k power during this turn. Then attached 2 rested DONs to this Character, making Sanji a 7k beat stick in total. Not to mention, we could also use ST21 Sanji on this card because we have reached the power requirements.

EB01 Chopper will be pricey to get, but he is one of the cards that can work really well with the Leader's effect. Chopper is also a Blocker, so we can stop any attacks your opponents will be throwing at us. You will need to attach 2 DONs for Chopper's effect to work, the effect works when attacking, reduce 1 of your opponent's Characters power by 3k this turn. This is just another power reducer if we need to reduce your opponent's Characters power.

Lastly, we've got ST21 Robin, and I am only running Robin for the removal effect since we need some sort of removal to reduce your opponent's board. Just like Chopper, you will need to attach 2 DONs for Robin's effect to work. The effect works when attacking, KO 1 of your opponent's 4k power or less Characters. This shouldn't be difficult to do with the amount of power reducers in the build.

Events

The events are very straight forward as they are all SH cards, which means will be easy to search out using Nami's effect. Bad Manners cost 0 to play, the counter effect is you may trash 1 card from your hand, 1 of your Leader or Characters gains 3k power this battle. The effect is very standard as all the colours will have this effect, it is only the trigger effect that is different. The trigger effect is reduce 1 of your opponent's Leader or Characters by 3k this turn.

Radical Beam works best when we have low health, so we can use OP01 Sanji's effect to help us reach the requirement to use Radical Beam full potential. The counter effect is your Leader or 1 of your Characters gains 2k power this battle. Then, if you have 2 or less Life cards, that card gains another 2k power. So in total, we could get 4k power for that battle. The trigger effect is your Leader or 1 of your Characters gains 1k power this turn.

Jet Pistol might be replaced with something else, however I do quite like the effect as it is a removal we can use instead of relying on Robin's effect. The effect is KO 1 of your opponent's 6k power or less Characters. Just like Robin, this effect is not difficult to do with the amount of power reducers in the build. The trigger effect is activate this card's main effect.
