I personally can't wait to play this game, I just hope that we don't need to rely on promos since promos are hard to get in Bandai games, which makes them really expensive. We know the current dates for the starter decks and GD01 set, but now we've got confirmed dates for ST05, ST06 and GD02 set. Although I have no idea why ST05 and ST06 is a month apart considering GD02 is in the same month as ST06. Doesn't really make sense, considering that the game is new, and ST05 should be a new series instead of supports for the current starter deck.
What I am hoping is that Gundam 00 or Iron Blood is in 1 of the 2 Starter decks, I don't even mind if its G Gundam as well. I will take either of these 3 series for my main build. Although, they could pull off like a ST01 deck where we have 2 series mixed together. I don't think the series matters in this game as it is more toward the playing styles, but for me series DOES matter as I could use my favourite series to try and aim to win. I don't care if they sucks as long as they will make them.
On the other hand, if you do not care about the card game at all, since I suspect Gundam Card Game might be pricey compare to Gundam Assemble who is a tabletop game. Tabletop aren't cheap, but I personally think card games might be more expensive. The only thing that put me off with Gundam Assemble is that you have to paint the figures. As someone who likes to straight assemble their gunplas, this is literally the worst nightmare for me with painting models.
You can play with unpainted models, but I think it wouldn't look as good especially for a tabletop game. But hey at least you could recognise which models is yours after you finished the game. I guess I will focus more on collecting gunplas rather than focusing on tabletop.
