The regional is here for GCG, and I am not surprised the way they have handle the format. Its a standard Bo1 format for any Bandai games you've played. For me Bo1 just sucks, since you could have 1 bad opening hand, and that will be your loss, especially for games like Digimon where the level actually matters, or you will be giving a lot of memory to your opponents just to get something on the board. Then again, with Bo1 format, luck will also plays a major factor which is why I always liked Bo3 format. Even if I lose my first game, I still have second and third game to bring it back, and not just I lost because of bad hand.
Recommended Format
I guess for Gundam is not that bad as we uses resources which take turns to generate. But still, I would still like to see Bo3 rather than the standard Bo1 format for these Bandai events. Although, I honestly don't know if 30 mins will be enough, but we will see if the release date is close to the GD02 set, or some people will only be using GD01 set. Well, I guess some decks will be able to win faster, and some will require the luck to draw the low cost Units and spam the field.
Registration Time
Make sure you don't want to be late for the Events, so here will be the time of when the registration will open.
Prizes
Nothing actually interesting when it comes to prizes. But for me, if I was playing, I only want top 4 since you get the playmat. I never really care about card prizes as they never really stand out for me. Whereas playmat is more interesting as it will be a mat I can use throughout my journey, whereas for cards, you only get 1 copy, and if you want a playset, you need to find people if they willingly to trade or buy online. Do note, the prizes can change, so these prizes at the moment aren't definite.
Link
https://www.gundam-gcg.com/en/events/offlineregionals.htmlThere are not many locations for regional tournaments, but if you want to check out the location, click on the link. I personally think this is disappointing as some people will need to travel very far just to get to the location. It also fails like there are more locations for Japan itself than the world.
