OP08 Red (Zoro) Deck Profile

Looks like the new support made Zoro even more aggressive, especially with the help of spamming Characters to the field for free. We don't need to focus on the old build where we mainly focus on low level and Rush. Now we can focus more on Chopper and spamming Animals to the field, creating a board ready to attack your opponent's cards.

OP08 Zoro

How it Works?

This is pretty much similar to R/G Chopper build where we make use of Chopper and the Animal cards, but this time we also got Rush in this build. The additional Rush along with these cards can make Zoro really aggressive especially when we attach a DON to Zoro Leader to power up our Characters, making those Characters hit magic number. That is all there is to this build, to spam Characters to set up attacks and swing at your opponents in one go unless they've got multiple Blockers or enough counters to stop the attacks.

Rush

The key part of the engine is definitely utilising these Rush cards combined with Zoro Leader's effect, and we've got some aggressive attacks. Kid & Killer effect works when attacking, if your opponent has 2 or less Life, this Character gains 2k power during this turn. Honestly, this shouldn't be difficult to trigger if you play your cards right.

Dragon on the other hand works on play, attach up to 2 rested DONs to 1 of your Leader or Characters. This can help to trigger Zoro Leader's effect, making Dragon a 10k beat stick and the ability to attack straight away for 8 DONs. This is not bad at all, and can definitely be a finisher.

Otherwise, we would need to rely on ST01 Luffy. You will need to attach 2 DONs to Luffy for the effect to work. The effect works when attacking, your opponent cannot activate Blockers this battle. So if your opponent has Blockers planning to stop your attacks, we can play ST01 Luffy to force your opponents to use up their counters from their hand.

Searchers

The importance of this build are the searchers. It is thanks to these searchers we can search for the key cards of our deck to get the combo going. Although, one of these searcher searches the trash instead of the deck which is also a good thing if you need certain cards from the trash. For OP01 Chopper, you will need to attack a DON for his effect to work. The effect works when attacking, you may trash 1 card from your hand to add one 4 cost or less Straw Hat Character other than Chopper from your trash to your hand. Only downside is that we can't search for Chopper and there are a lot of Chopper in this build.

OP01 Nami works on play, look at the top 5 cards of your deck, reveal up to 1 Straw Hat card other than Nami and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. The effect is very standard, nothing really I could expand on.

Dr Kureha is another searcher, the effect works on play, look at the top 4 cards of your deck, reveal up to 1 Chopper or Drum Kingdom card other than Kureha and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. I guess the difference is that we can search for either Chopper or Drum Kingdom card just like OP03 Pudding.

Playing Cards For Free

These cards will be very important as part of the combo because you could fill up the field in one go if you are lucky enough. OP04 Chopper works on play, play up to one 3k power or less Animal type Character from your hand. This is very simple, nothing I can expand on.

However, for OP08 Chopper I can. The effect works on play or when attacking, look at the top 5 cards of your deck, play up to 1 Animal type Character with 4k power or less rested. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. We could play OP04 Chopper as this is not Chopper restricted, and using OP04 Chopper to play another Animal Character from our hand, meaning we could get 3 Characters just for 3 DONs. Then, for the rest of the DONs, we could attach them to our Characters so they can hit decent numbers against our opponent's cards.

Just Shut Up is an Event Counter, but for this counter, we have no power bonus or even a trigger effect. In return, we would be able to get Characters in play. The counter effect is look at the top 5 cards of your deck and play up to one 3 cost or less Animal type Character. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. This is not power restricted, so we can play every Animal Character in this build if we can see those for the top 5 cards, and again, we do want to choose OP08 Chopper, so OP08 Chopper could play another Character during your opponent's turn, ready to attack when our turn comes.

Animals Supports

There is one more Animal Character you can add to this build and that is Robson. Robson is another Rush card so you could swing as soon as it hits the field. But you do need to attach 2 cards to Robson for the Rush to work. Duck Troops works when attacking, you may reduce 1 of your active Leader by 5k power during this turn. Return this Character to the owner's hand at the end of this turn. 5k power might be a lot, however, we do have a lot of spare DONs, so even if our Leader loses 5k power, we can still give the Leader enough DON to hit enough power against your opponent's cards.

Hiking Bear is very good in these type of builds as it makes our Animal Characters hit even more power. You will need to attach a DON for the effect to work. The effect is also an activate main effect. Once per turn 1 of your Animal type Characters other than this card gains 1k power this turn. You can swing with Hiking Bear for the extra attack, but you will be risking in losing this card on the field, reducing the power bonus you cards can get.

Straw Hat Supports

Now for the rest of the Straw Hat cards that Nami can search. EB01 Chopper is a Blocker with a when attacking effect. The when attacking you will need to attach 2 DONs for the effect to work. Reduce 1 of your opponent's Characters power by 3k this turn. This is a special Blocker as if you need additional attacks, it might be worth using this effect to try and take down your opponent's high power Characters.

OP01 Sanji has an activate main effect, you may add 1 card from your Life area to your hand. This Character gains 2k power this turn. Then, give this Character up to 2 rested DONs. Basically, we could make Sanji a 7k beat stick if we also include the DONs power, as well as Zoro Leader power up bonus, making Sanji 8k beat stick to swing at your opponent's Life. You wouldn't be losing too much Life if your opponents focus on trying to reduce your board, making perfect use for Sanji's effect to kick in.

OP05 Robin works on play, KO 1 of your opponent's 1k power or less Characters. This effect might be difficult to trigger since the only power reducer we've got in this build is EB01 Chopper, and EB01 Chopper only reduces a Character by 3k, so we could only target 4k or less Character. But I guess this is better than having no removal at all in deck.

Diable Jambe is basically ST01 Luffy, but as an Event card. The effect is select 1 of your Straw Hat Leader or Characters. Your opponents cannot activate Blockers if that card attacks this turn. So if you know your opponents could stop one of the attacks when you try go for the win, we could play this card whilst powering up one of our card to stop your opponent's Blockers from activating. The Trigger effect is KO 1 of your opponent's 3 cost or less Blockers. This might be a bit difficult since not every builds will run 3 cost or less Blockers, so we will mainly be using the main effect.
