GCG First Gameplay

The first Gundam Card Game game play. For those who have played One Piece Card Game, this is very easy to adapt, and I could write a comparison between these 2 card games. Obviously there are some minor changes compare to One Piece, but hopefully, Gundam won't be expensive. To be honest, I found One Piece to be cheaper than Digimon since One Piece gives you a choice of not running expensive promos whilst Digimon, you have to run them or the deck isn't as effective, especially in competitive scenes. I just hope Gundam will also follow One Piece route of doing things.

Anyway, I am looking forward to this as the weakest Mobile Suit, Ball can deal damage to your opponents. Personally, it be embarrassing if Ball deal the final blow to finish the game. But this is how Gundam Card Game works, it won't be about Mobile Suit performance, even though they have AP and HP, its about learning the strategies of this game. Speaking of AP and HP, the damage will be kept, so we can sacrifice our small units to take down the big guns. I actually prefer this kind of mechanic rather than hitting a certain amount of power to get rid of them. Of course, this would means deck that constantly deals small damage could get the upper hand in the game, and having big guns on the field doesn't mean you are safe from attacks.

Pilot is also a fun mechanic since we don't need to give them to their personal mobile suits, so every pilot will become a newtype. Although if we can link them to their personal mobile suits, we would get the full effects rather than just the bonuses.

What I am looking forward the most is using the Gundam 00 series, followed by Iron Blood Orphans, especially Exia and Barbatos. I can't wait to build those decks, or even own 1 of the cards for my Gunpla. I know we can mix up these series together so it will be fun to see what kind of decks we can build out of the favourite series.

Hopefully Bandai would make a sim for this game, they already made one for Fusion World, but that's it. Considering Bandai has a lot of card games, this is actually disappointing, but I'm guessing because Dragon Ball is their money making game, so that's why they focused on that instead of other card games. Having a sim would be better as it will make me know which cards I can get and which cards I won't be needing, especially when it comes to new sets. Sometimes, old cards are good enough without the new support.
