What I am glad is that some of the reprinted cards in this set will be treated as Block 4, so we won't need to worry about the rotation. Although, it would be better if they have changed the arts, since you can't really tell if they were reprinted or the OG set. Well, maybe people can tell if they look very closely.
Should be very straightforward for this video. As you know it is GD01 release date today, unless your area somehow got delayed. So there won't be anything new I will be talking about as some people will have already got their hands on the booster box and start pulling the cards.
Some important information about the future of OPCG. But honestly, if you've kept up with the OPCG stuff, this is nothing new. It is mainly about the rotation OPCG is introducing next year. There are some cards who will be exempted from the rotation, and looking at the list, not really looking too good.
Personally, the new cards from EB02 set do make a drastic change for this build, but if we also add some cards from OP11 set, then I think we are good to go. What we want is to make use of the multi attacks from our Leader, so we can deal as much damage as possible with the lowest possible costs.
To be honest, I wasn't sure if I should post Bonney deck or not because of OP12 supports. Then again, I can always post this build and change the build later when OP12 set comes out, since the builds are never the same as previous version. Well, most of the time, depending on how the deck works.
ST13 Luffy took some major hit from the ban list, especially Moria and Ice Age being banned. So I didn't get a chance to edit this deck until now using OP11 support. Well, there's only 1 card that could work with this deck from that set, and it is a very obvious choice.
This is a very simple upgrade using OP11 cards, but what's more is that the EN version finally got Sabo promo. Sabo promo came out in JP format for awhile ago, especially when the yellow side of RA is all about reducing your Life cards, making Sabo promo is needed for the deck to trigger those effects. We might get more support from OP12 side since there will be more RA supports coming out, so this deck will change again when the time comes.
The one thing they've discussed in this video is Rules & Manners which I've encountered before. So I am glad they actually discussed about them in this video as this also implies in the global scale too. Not many card games actually discuss them in a video, instead they give us some rules to read, and you know for some people reading is hard, especially if they mentioned in a small part of the section you might missed out.
Its been awhile since we've last saw the latest video. Now, we can focus on OP13 set for One Piece. Spoilers alert, they have remade the 3 brothers Leader in OP13, so I am looking forward to it when they come out. It does make sense, since we are aiming for rotation, and it would be good if they could redo some Block 1 Leaders in the new rotation, so it doesn't feel like that Leader is gone for good.
As you know OP11 mainly focused on Fishman support for the green decks, and there are not much Fishman Leaders available to upgrade. For Hody, we will sacrifice our Leader attack in order to prevent us from losing Life cards with our card effects. Also we won't need to worry about rotating this build as OP06 stuff are from Block 2 set, so we would have plenty of time to use this build.
What I like about this deck is that now it won't be a mono purple deck as we have got some new Germa cards from the blue side. So we actually got a blue/purple Germa build, and I'm liking it so far with the increased numbers of Germa cards in the build. I know OP10 had a support for Reiju, but I waited until OP11 to post this deck to make it easier.
Not a huge change for this build since we only need 1 card from OP11 set for this build. You will mostly need the old cards to build this deck as the new BM Pirates support are Purple in OP11 set. Although, what you can do is to have both Katakuri decks, considering this Katakuri will be out of rotation very soon, leaving us playing the purple Katakuri build, who will mainly have Block 3 cards. But that is only if you prefer Katakuri as your main Leader.
With the release of the starter decks, I'm not surprised that they have made a video to celebrate the release of GCG. This is a 2 hours long video, and I'll skim and scam the video to the important information. Although, you can skip like 15 mins of the video since it is still on the same slide when you start the video.
Not a huge update for Nika Luffy deck as OP11 set doesn't really work with the Leader. Although, we also have more SH support from OP12 that could also works with this Leader. The new cards for this deck is optional, and don't need to be used if you don't like them. There are already plenty of good old cards we can use for this build until rotation kicks in.
I did not expect we would get a new episode today for GCG. I guess the release date for the starter decks come out this week, which make sense why they would release a video a day or 2 before the date. For me, the main point of this video is not the starter deck fights, but the cards revealed from GD01 set. Looks like we are getting serious with the last part of the set.
As you know, we've got a new support for Robin build in OP11 set, although it is only 1 card. The one problem I find with this deck is balancing trigger and non trigger cards, since if you have a hand of non triggers, we won't be able to trigger Robin's effect, and ramp is important for this build.
Nothing too major change for this build as we want to focus on playing as much Characters as possible to trigger Law's effect. We've also got a bit of support from ST24 starter deck, but only very specific card for this build, since that starter deck mainly works with Bonney Leader in mind, and Law has a completely different style to Bonney.
We've got some new Impel Down support for Hannyabal in OP11 set. There are plenty of new supports that could work with Hannyabal, so I tried to cramp as much as possible, without reducing the main Impel Down cards for this build. The deck is cheap to build since we don't really need the key cards like Bon Clay as we've already got the ramp going.
Nothing much revealed in today episode. Just a starter deck battle between ST01 and ST03. We also have some cards revealed and Events. The thing I do find annoying with the Events is that they are different and not the same even though this game is global. Plus, the Events only mentioned in US, so for the rest of the world, we would need to find the information.
Cards
Aerial Rebuild has a simple effect which does let you bring back a Lv5 or less Command card from your trash, and that is very strong depending on what the Lv5 Command card does. You only need to pair this with a Pilot to trigger the effect which is very easy to do.
Who would have thought Guncannon would be OP. Not only this card repair itself at the end of your turn, but you can also rest 2 HP or less Units. This game stacks damage, so 2 HP can be any units if they are active. But I doubt your opponents would keep damage units active unless they are the only unit on the field.
This is just a token spam card, but don't underestimate those weak tokens as this game have permanent damage. Permanent damage changes everything, especially how you strategies your attacks. You can also attack your opponent's Base or Shields. There are plenty of ways we could make use of this Command. I haven't fully read the comprehensive rules for this game, but if you can, you could mix white and green so Aerial Rebuild could bring back this Command card to spam more tokens.
Zulu is a card I like, pretty much an on play effect where you can deal 1 damage, and if that unit is on the last HP, we won't need to worry about sacrificing our Units just to defeat that Unit.
More free burn damage, and Kshatriya can deal up to 2 Units at once making the effect very strong. But of course, we will have specific Pilot restrictions in order to make the effect work. But I am liking this with Zulu to deal damage to my opponent's units without the need of attacking, so I won't need to make so sacrifice choices.
Of course, we have the main pilot for Kshatriya, Marida. This link with Kshatriya, we could potential deal 2 damage for one of your opponent's units, and Kshatriya is a Lv5, so we could wipe out some lower levels units, so they won't be able to hit our Base or Shields.
Events
Personally, I like the way Japan host the Events, from Beginner to Newtype Challenges, so this will give you a chance to learn the game and work your way up, as I think it will attracts new players rather than throwing them into the competitive scene knowing little about the game. I wish the EN side also takes this as an idea.
For the Shop battle, you get some prize pack, and those packs will have 1 in 8 of these different illustration card. You will just have to be lucky to pull your favourite one. If one of those Shop Battle is an Expert Shop, you will get Banagher & Unicorn Gundam as the resource card.
Just some promo cards if you enter the First Combat Event, of course, some of these are from Newtype Challenge.
I don't know about this, sure having 10 different factions as your resources looks cool, but I guess it is not cheap to get. Sure, you will also get a mat and a storage box, so it might worth the money for some people.
Of course, we also got this Event for US. Nothing too special except we get Zechs & Tallgeese as Resource card.
Then for China, it is complete different, and the Event is in Shanghai.
What this deck is missing is Law promo and unfortunately that card will be release at a later date after this deck is posted. I might include Law in OP12 post where we get more Supernovas support, but that's only if Law will be release when OP12 set comes out. OP12 does have some new SN supports, but it will also depends if those cards will work with Kid or not as there's also Law build we could add those cards into.
