GCG Link Station EP 6 - Events: How to Participate, Rules & Manner

The one thing they've discussed in this video is Rules & Manners which I've encountered before. So I am glad they actually discussed about them in this video as this also implies in the global scale too. Not many card games actually discuss them in a video, instead they give us some rules to read, and you know for some people reading is hard, especially if they mentioned in a small part of the section you might missed out.

Although, some of these rules might be overexaggerated, but anything is possible. Luckily, I haven't encountered some of these, or I find some of these not a problem. There are also cards reveal and some more info on the Events.

This is one thing nobody should do, especially if you played a full bling deck, you can easily damaged the cards by doing this type of shuffle. If you want to do a good shuffle, pile shuffle would be good, but it does take like 5-10 mins and if you are short on time like tournament settings, you would need to find other ways to shuffle.

There are a lot of ways to shuffle a deck, hundred of YouTube videos about how to shuffle a deck without the need of damaging the cards, especially if you are also running expensive anime card sleeves. I double sleeves my decks, but it does hurt when the outer sleeves is damaged, so I had to replace it with a new one even if they protect my anime sleeves.

This is in every card games rules and very obvious rule too, no damaged sleeves. If the sleeves is damaged, you must replace them before you enter an Event. This is help to prevent people from recognising that card because of the damaged sleeved, so cheating practically.

This is the main reason why I double sleeved my decks, since sleeves, especially anime sleeves come with limited number, and once they are gone it is hard to get a second pack. Whereas you know outer sleeves are always in stock and can easily be replaced with a new one if the outer sleeves are damaged. Although, if you are using any plain colours one, they are available anywhere, but certain colours might be harder to get than the others, so double sleeving will still be recommended.

But you will also need to check the card game rules as some card games banned double sleeved for some reason, no idea why since double sleeving is the best at protecting your sleeves.

This is quite normal for games who have unlimited Characters or Units on the field. I remembered playing DBS spamming 10 Characters on the field, so the board got pretty big, and was a pain to organise them so they don't stack on top of each other if there's no evolution involved.

Not everyone will know what every single card does, or they have forgotten the card effect since it has been a while. So this is quite obvious, although, I don't know about hand size in this game since we can't use counters like One Piece card game. But I guess it's always nice to check your opponent's hand size once for a while when you attack their units.

I don't have problem with card effects since I just let them read the card unless that card is at a different language. Although, I think only SEA area allows both EN and JP, whilst the West is EN only unless they decided to release EU languages. I am jealous of SEA area since some cards will be cheaper in other language, and they get to access them.

This is one thing I do not understand why people hand shuffle. It literally damages the sleeves or even the card if you are not careful. For me, I don't care if people hand shuffles as it is their decks. If they want to damage them, then fine by me. But apparently, some people may find hand shuffling annoying as it does cause some noise.

Being a nuisance doesn't help, and ruins the environment. Well, this is pretty much any games you play, whether you are playing board games or video games, doesn't need to be card games only.

Cards

Golden Shenlong, I really like this art, but I know it's going to be expensive to get as a single, and you will need luck to pull this from packs. I wasn't planning on buying GCG cards since I've got other prioritise, but this really looks tempting to get for collection. Anyway, Breach is really weird, I think it's like Piercing but of course, your opponents doesn't take 4 shields away, that will be broken. Instead, they can only take a shield, but if there's a Base, that Base would take 4 damage.

What I also like about Shenlong is the when attacking effect that clears out any Blockers. I don't know about Blockers in the long run, since games like DBS and Digimon makes Blockers redundant. Heck, even OPCG people rarely run Blockers in their decks now. So this effect might be useless in the future, depending how this game turns out, but knowing Bandai games, possibility is very high.

Duel AS, I like this art a lot, very cool for AA version. But that search effect only works when you link with a Pilot. Then again, it does play that card to the field, and a Lv4 card so that could be very powerful to fill up the field nicely. I think that Unit will be played for free considering the wording is similar to OPCG cards, and that is OP in a game like GCG where we can have unlimited Units.

Events

The simple requirement is to download the teaching app to get this card. That is so much better than getting this card as a prize. Although only 1 copy per person, so if you want 10, then you might have to ask for trade or buy online. Note this is only is Japan.

Participating and ranking prizes for these promos. I think for the West, we might get something similar, so not too worried.

Looks like AniCon for HK event. Although this is nothing special, not like you get a prize for participating, just meeting a VA.

China will also get First Combat Event in 4 locations. Guess we are missing this Event in the West. Please don't make the West boring to play.
