GCG Link Station Ep 5

I did not expect we would get a new episode today for GCG. I guess the release date for the starter decks come out this week, which make sense why they would release a video a day or 2 before the date. For me, the main point of this video is not the starter deck fights, but the cards revealed from GD01 set. Looks like we are getting serious with the last part of the set.

Cards

Looks like we've got a searcher for Gundam Wing build. It does cost 1 to play, but it's a Lv5 card. This is different from our 1 drop searchers we have for OPCG, as having levels will mean we can't use this straight away, and would need to wait until we have 5 resources. Shouldn't be hard to do in this game.

Wing Gundam Zero not only it has high firing power, but also transform to a bird. If you seen the anime, you know Zero just use double beam rifle and just spin to annihilated the mobile suits. I think this is where this effect comes from, all your opponents low level mobile suit could easily become a board wipe, not to mention no one will be able to block against this unit. This is also a starter deck card, so we haven't seen what the other Wing Gundam can do.

I don't mind this effect, it means our Blockers can attack without worrying about losing the Blocker ability. The only downside is that we can't go for the final push for game, as the untap Blocker won't be able to attack.

Perfect Strike Gundam feels like a waste being a Blocker despite it has a lot of weapons from the 3 main equipment combined. But at least we can bounce your opponent's low HP units to their hand, plus it also works with Strike Rouge's effect, it is a strong Blocker, but I do feel like it's a waste on Perfect Strike Gundam considering what that mobile suit can do.

Moving on to Freedom, I feel like Seed or White deck is a Blocker deck since Freedom being a Blocker feels weird for me as it as high maneuverer ability. Well, Freedom does weaken your opponent's units AP so our HP doesn't hurt as much if you plan on swinging those Units. Not to mention, Strike Rouge can also target this card, looks like Strike Rouge might be an important card in the build. Although, I am tempted to get this card for my Freedom model.

Events

More prizes for Japan only for the starter deck release.

The schedule of when the promos get released, so if you are chasing a specific card, you should enter the Events during those date. Of course, Japan only.

I'm glad this is only Japan only as I don't really care about Metaverse as it has a lot of problems, but Bandai have spent too many money on Metaverse, so no turning back from there.

Even China is hosting these Events, but honestly, I would love to have these Events globally as it makes the game more fun. Don't know if I missed the news for global Events.
