OP11 Yellow (Katakuri) Deck Profile

Not a huge change for this build since we only need 1 card from OP11 set for this build. You will mostly need the old cards to build this deck as the new BM Pirates support are Purple in OP11 set. Although, what you can do is to have both Katakuri decks, considering this Katakuri will be out of rotation very soon, leaving us playing the purple Katakuri build, who will mainly have Block 3 cards. But that is only if you prefer Katakuri as your main Leader.

OP11 Katakuri

How it Works?

I tried to keep this deck as simple as possible with the aim of running the BM Pirates engine to search for specific cards, especially Zeus who is a BM Pirate card. You still have Life gain and removals, but thanks to Zeus, we've got a lot of removals in the build to try and reduce your opponent's Characters, so your opponents wouldn't be able to maintain a board presence. Not to mention, we also have plenty of 2k counters for defence, stopping your opponent's attacks.

But I must say, if you don't draw your searchers, this deck is more mid to late game where we can start building up the attacks. Otherwise, we would have to rely on Katakuri's effect to swing for more power whilst arranging your opponent's Life area so we don't swing into trigger effects that could affect our attacks.

Life Gain

The Life gain is a little bit different this time as I am running Kiku in the build whilst keeping the 2 Big Mom cards. As you know Kiku works on KO, if your opponent has 3 or less Life cards, add the top card of your deck to top of your Life area. Thanks to this effect, we can put pressure toward your opponents, if they don't KO Kiku, they will have to deal against a 6k beat stick or maybe more if we use DONs. But what I am aiming for is also the trigger effect. The trigger effect is if your opponent has 3 or less Life cards, play this card, giving us an extra body on the field, ready to attack during our turn.

ST07 Big Mom is a nice early big drop we can play to put pressure against your opponents, but the effect is very situational. The effect works on play, your opponents chooses one of the following, they either trash their Life or you gain a Life. This is a win win choice if your opponent has Life cards, forcing them to either trash a Life or you gain a Life.

10 drop Big Mom is one of our major powerhouse in this build, this one Character is the one that can force your opponents to use a lot of counters, or eat up their Blockers. The effect works on play, if your Leader is BM Pirates type, add the top card of your deck to top of your Life. Then, trash 1 card from your opponent's Life. The only downside to this is that we won't be able to use Katakuri's effect for a turn, but we would have a new Life card.

Removals

Not including Damned Punk, we do have 3 Characters, almost at maximum copies who can KO your opponent's Characters, preventing your opponent to build up a decent board. OP11 Zeus is the only new card I've added to this build. The effect works on play, you may add the top or bottom of your Life cards to your hand to KO 1 of your opponent's 5 cost or less Characters. The downside, we do lose a Life card, but we can KO your opponent's 5 cost or less Characters. Plus, we also have 2k counter on this card, making it useful for defence.

Majority of the deck will have trigger effect which means we can trigger OP08 Nami's effect. The effect works on play, you may trash 1 card with trigger from your hand to KO 1 of your opponent's 5 cost or less Characters. Then, if you have 3 or less cards in your hand, draw 1 card. 3 or less cards in your hand shouldn't be too difficult, especially during late game where we need the draw power. The trigger effect is just activate this card's on play effect.

Gedatsu is mainly for early removal plus having a 6k beat stick on the field is really useful compare to Nami's 5k power. The effect works on play, KO 1 of your opponent's Characters with cost equal to or less than the number of your opponent's Life cards. So the more cards in your opponent's Life area the better, but we do have cards that can trash your opponent's Life cards.

Searchers

The 2 searchers who can search for BM Pirates cards, however, I am not running a lot of BM Pirates in the build, so their search effects can be hit and miss. OP03 Pudding works best as your turn 1 play. The effect works on play, look at the top 4 cards of your deck, reveal 1 Sanji or BM Pirates card other than Pudding and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order.

OP03 Perospero is a different type of searcher, instead of being an on play effect, the effect works on KO. The effect is look at the top 3 cards of your deck, reveal 1 BM Pirates card and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. Well, I guess on the bright side, we do have a 5k beat stick for 3 drop which is always nice to have. The trigger effect is you may trash 1 card from your hand to play this card, allowing us to build up a field ready to attack during our turn.

Trigger Characters

Here we have some Characters with Trigger effects to feed Nami's effect, 3 of them are vanillas, so you don't want to hard play them, only mainly for their trigger effects and counters. The only exception is OP06 Onami who has a main effect. The effect works on play, your Leader or 1 of your Characters gains Banish for this turn. Banish is really useful as we can put pressure on your opponent's Life area, not giving them the Life cards or triggering any trigger effects we might hit. The trigger effect is KO 1 of your opponent's 5 cost or less Characters, slowing your opponent's attacks. Both effect will be useful, but it will also depends on the situation you are in.

OP04 Bege has a 2k counter, so if we draw him, he will only be used for defence or discard fodder. The trigger effect is 1 of your opponent's Leader or Characters cannot attack this turn. This will slow your opponents down, and with Katakuri checking the top of your Life cards, we can put this on top or bottom if it is too early to use the trigger effect.

ST20 Brulee can be useful because of the trigger effect.  The trigger effect is look at the top of your or your opponent's Life cards, and place it on top or bottom of the Life cards. Then, add this card to your hand. Not only we have an effect same as our Leader's effect, but we can add Brulee to our hand, getting an extra 2k counter to use.

Now for Satori, I know he is a 5k beat stick, however, I really wouldn't waste 5 DONs just to play a 5k beat stick to the field when you have other 5 drop options in the deck. The trigger effect is the exact same as Perospero where you may trash 1 card from your hand to play this card, giving us an extra beat stick on the field if needed.

Events

I am only running 2 Events, 1 who is a counter, and the other is a removal. Who Should Disappear can easily set up the trigger effect thanks to the cards who can constantly check our Life cards. The counter effect is the same as any other colours. You may trash 1 card from your hand, your Leader or 1 of your Characters gains 3k power for this battle. The trigger effect is if you have 0 Life, you may add the top card of your deck to top of your Life. Then, trash 1 card from your hand. This is the reason why I am running 4 copies, not only because of a 0 cost Event, but also if you see this in your Life area, you can put this right at the bottom of your Life area, so we could hit the effect.

Damned Punk is an extra removal if we need to KO your opponent's Characters. Nothing wrong with having plenty of removal to stop your opponents from building up a decent board ready to attack. The main effect is look at the top or bottom of your or your opponent's Life cards and place it at the top or bottom of the Life area. Then, KO 1 of your opponent's 5 cost or less Characters. As you know Katakuri's effect might not always be enough, as your opponents could be lucky with their trigger effects in stopping your attacks. The trigger effect is draw 2 cards and trash 1 card from your hand. Personally, we do have a lot of non counters in this build, so having this effect can filter our hand easily.
