Nothing too major change for this build as we want to focus on playing as much Characters as possible to trigger Law's effect. We've also got a bit of support from ST24 starter deck, but only very specific card for this build, since that starter deck mainly works with Bonney Leader in mind, and Law has a completely different style to Bonney.
OP11 Law |
---|
Leader Character (50) |
How it Works?
This deck is similar to last time where we still focus on playing 5 cost Characters from our Life area. Although, there are not many choices to choose from when it comes to our 5 cost Characters as I need to make room for other cards. What we do have is the ability to spam on play effects, especially our 2 searchers, so we could constantly get Characters into our hand. Not to mention, we have a few Blockers which is the only way to stop your opponent's attacks other than using counters.
Rest
There's not a lot of resting involve, as I am mainly running most of them for the 2k counter and triggering the Leader's effect easily. EB01 Apoo is one of those cards where we mainly run him in the deck for 2k counter. The effect works on play, rest 1 of your opponent's 2 cost or less Characters. We can target low Characters, then bounce Apoo back to hand using the Leader's effect, so we won't be losing much on the field.
OP10 X Drake requires a specific requirements in order to trigger his effect. The effect is an activate main effect. you may rest this Character, if your Life cards is equal or less than your opponent's Life cards, rest 1 of your opponent's 4 cost or less Characters. What we can do is use Drake's effect, then bounce him back to hand so we could use the 2k counter on your opponent's turn.
Hody is to make this deck more aggressive as we are only spamming Characters, but not the attacks. Hody has Rush with an on play effect which is rest up to a total of 2 of your opponent's Characters or DONs. Then, add the top card of your Life area to your hand. The downside is that we do lose a Life card, but in return, having that extra attack can be really useful, especially for an 8k beat stick.
The Life Area
We have 4 cards who can place cards to the Life area, so the Leader's effect will not be luck base, and will be 100% in playing the Characters we need. OP10 Bege works on play, you may add the top or bottom of your Life cards to your hand. Add 1 SN Character from your hand to top of your Life area face up. What's more, after we used Bege's effect, we can bounce him back to hand and use the 2k counter on your opponent's turn.
OP11 Bege is to give our SN Characters some protection, so your opponents will have to target Bege in order to target other SN Characters. Bege is a Blocker with an effect that works once per turn. If your SN Characters other than Bege would be removed from your opponent's effects, you may add it to the top of your Life area face down.
OP10 Bonney is a Blocker with an effect similar to OP10 Bege's effect. The effect works on play, you may add the top or bottom of your Life cards to your hand. Add one 5 cost SN Character from your hand to top of your Life area face up. Unlike Bege, we can only target 5 cost SN Character which is what we want in order to trigger Law's Leader effect.
OP10 Law acts as a Life gain, but for this deck, the Life gain option might be pointless. The effect works on play, reveal 1 SN Character and add it to top of your Life area face down. Then, attach 1 rested DON to your SN Leader. The 1 rested DON to our Leader will mean we can also trigger our Leader's effect to play that Character we put on top of our Life area.
Searchers
The one thing we won't be lacking will be the searchers. We want from 2 to 3, so it shouldn't be difficult to search for certain cards you need from the deck unless they are non SN Characters. OP10 Luffy is the standard searcher for Supernovas. The effect works on play, look at the top 5 cards of your deck, reveal 1 SN card other than Luffy and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. What I like about Luffy is that we can keep bouncing him back to our hand so we can trigger the search effect again to add cards to our hand, constantly increasing the hand size.
ST02 Bonney is more of an activate main effect in order to search for SN Characters. The effect is paying 1 DON and resting this Character, look at the top 5 cards of your deck, reveal 1 SN card and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. The great thing about this effect is that we can also search for herself unlike Luffy, and I am running plenty of Bonney in this build.
ST24 Kid & Killer is a nice 2 drop searcher, helping us to trigger Law's Leader effect easily. Kid & Killer has 2 effects, the first effect works on play, look at the top 5 cards of your deck, reveal 1 SN card and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. The second effect works during your opponent's attacks where you may trash this Character to untap 1 DON. The problem with this effect is that I am not running any 1 drop Events we could use during your opponent's turn, so the effect will be useless for this build.
The 5 Costs
The only 5 costs in the deck, but honestly, you could actually make some room for more 5 drop Characters to make certain effects more consistent. Although, with 3 searchers in the build, I don't think it would be difficult to see at least 1 of them unless you are really unlucky. OP07 Bonney is great for slowing down your opponents whether they have Characters or DONs. The effect works on play, 1 of your opponent's rested Characters or DONs cannot untap during your opponent's next Refresh Phase.
EB01 Cavendish is our main card of the deck because he is the only card who can untap DONs during our turn, allowing us to play more Characters to the field if needed, or power up our attacks. The effect works on play or when attacking, if your Leader is SN type and you have no other Cavendish on the field, you can untap 2 DONs. What's more, if we play Cavendish using the Leader's effect, we will get to untap 2 DONs instead of paying the full 5 cost, giving us a lot of DONs to work with.
Lastly, OP01 Law is still amazing in this build especially with our low cost Characters in the build. Law is a Blocker with an on play effect which is return 1 Character to your hand to play one 3 cost or less Character from your hand. As you can see, this effect does not have any colour restrictions, since the new cards usually have colour restrictions, so we can choose to play green or yellow depending on what you need.
Other Supports
As for the rest of the support, they mainly optional, but will be useful if you can find the room to add them in the build. OP11 Zeus is the only card who can remove your opponent's Characters, so we won't need to use rest effect to attack into those cards. The effect works on play, you may add the top or bottom of your Life cards to your hand to KO 1 of your opponent's 5 cost or less Characters. We do lose a Life card, but as long as it is not 0, then you should be fine.
OP01 Kid is still a great back up for defence when our Blockers aren't working to stop your opponent's attacks. Kid has 2 effects, the first effect will require you to attach a DON for the effect to work. The effect works during your opponent turn, if this Character is rested, your opponent cannot attack any other cards other than Kid. It is thanks to the first effect, we can make the game last longer as all the attacks will be redirected to Kid, and the longer Kid stays on the field, the less you need to worry about your Leader or your other Characters. The second effect is an activate main effect, you may rest this Character to play one 3 cost or less Character from your hand. This second effect will trigger the first effect even if you can't attack on the turn Kid is played, but would cost you a total of 9 DONs altogether to do so.
