How to Play Digimon Card Game 2024

Personally, I think Digimon changes quite drastically compare to One Piece Card Game, especially Digimon has a lot of keywords, and Bandai adds more keywords for the game constantly, meaning it will change every year if you skipped a year of Digimon. For people who constantly plays Digimon, then you can ignore this post, but for returning players or new players, you might want to read the post. I'll try to break down each rules easier for people to read. Some text I will just copy and paste from the general rules as there's really nothing much I could say on those.

OP08 Green (Carrot) Deck Profile

This deck basically has a style I really like combine with the current cards. You won't be needing a lot of the new cards to build Carrot as she works better with the older cards. Don't forget, you only need a Mink on the field in order to trigger Carrot's effect, and that is not hard to do by playing a low cost Character that won't attack, and won't be your opponent focus. In this build, I tried to mix the deck up a little so it won't be pure Minks build, I wish, but I don't think pure Minks would be ideal for this build.

OP08 Blue (Hancock) Deck Profile

A very small update to this deck, what's more it is also not an expensive upgrade too, so if you already got the deck built during OP07 set, then it will be very cheap, but if you haven't got a Hancock deck, then good luck finding the old cards especially around OP01 set, those are really difficult to find. Anyway, the deck still focus on the same style where we make use of returning cards to trigger Hancock's effect.

OP08 Black (Lucci (OP07)) Deck Profile

As there are no Black Leaders in OP08 set, I guess we looks for some old supports, although no surprised that OP07 Lucci got a nice upgrade even with the ban list banning the Stage card. The deck still works just as well. There will not be a lot of changes as most of the main cards we need are still in older set whilst OP08 set only got 1 or 2 cards, and we change the build a little because of the ban list. But the deck will be very straight forward, and I'm most likely repeating what I've wrote on the last post for this build.

BT17 Red/Purple (Imperialdramon) Deck Profile

Ulforce isn't the only type who gets lack of support from Bandai, we also got this BlackImperialdramon line. Although, they did get 3 new cards from BT16 set, but was it even enough? No. Imperialdramon got plenty of supports, in fact too many supports making it hard to change some line up, whilst BlackImperialdramon got plenty of room for improvement. Hopefully, the new Digimon Liberators series will give us BlackImperialdramon supports to revive this deck. Currently, I'm only adding 1 new card to the deck. I

CFV Dear Days 2 Classic Format

I know I've mentioned that I wouldn't post VG deck profiles as I had enough of the VG format changing every time. But looks like Bushiroad wants to revive some old school players like me. I might be able to post some old VG decks since there's only 7 sets in Dear Days 2. I do wonder if they will be limiting Commander Laurel and banning Barcgal as the starting VG, considering that those cards were pretty broken in S1 format. Barcgal can feed Soul Saver whilst Commander Laurel gives you extra twin drive.

BT17 Blue/Yellow (MagnaX (BT16)) Deck Profile

MagnaX is one of the Veemon decks who got hit by the ban list which means, I wouldn't be able to make 2 decks for this kind of build. I mean I can, but that build will not be using any new supports from BT17 set. This also includes the new promo who would work very well in this build. We are missing Blue Scramble who is coming out later in the English format who would work very well in this build as we need to focus on Veemon to work.

BT17 Blue/Green (Imperialdramon) Deck Profile

Specifically, this Imperialdramon deck will be focusing on Paladin Mode, but unlike Ulforce, we do have more Imperialdramon support to improve the deck. Although, we do not need all of the new cards in that set, only 2 of them will be enough to build the deck. Imperialdramon is already good enough with the old cards, so changing the build will be a bit more difficult.

BT17 Blue (Ulforce (BT11)) Deck Profile

Unfortunately, the new card in this set is a Promo card which releases at the same time as BT17 set, hence this is why I put BT17 next to the name. The promo is definitely not cheap to get. Plus Ulforce lacks of support from Bandai really hurts, so getting a new card as a promo is really disappointing, considering that promos in this game are really expensive for what they do. I guess it is the same for all Bandai games. However, you can still use the old Ulforce build if you can't get your hand on the promos.
