Uta is the only Leader where we get 2 version of the Starter deck, since the rest of the Leaders from the latest starter deck are booster set cards. FILM deck was pretty good, but unfortunately like some Digimon decks for other Bandai games, they lack support, and that lack of supports is what makes it difficult to improve. We have some very good green cards released for the colour, but combining with FILM stuff is a bit difficult to do. On the bright side, some of the music promos have been reprinted in the starter deck, but not like we would need them since the deck doesn't base on music, but instead on FILM instead.

How it Works?
This build is very simple, we just mainly focus on FILM Characters so we can trigger Uta's Leader effect, we also have cards who could play Characters for free, spamming the board. The only non FILM Character I've added is Hody because the effect is still very useful on top of being a Rush Character, so we can go very aggressive with this build. We do have a few Blockers in this build, so we won't need to worry about defending. A perfect balance of offense and defence strategies with this build as well as having a nice large hand size. It is a very easy deck to use for beginners if you want to learn the game.
The Songs
I know we got new music cards in the starter deck, but nothing is better than these 3, as their effects is very useful. All of these cards only works if your Leader is Uta. Backlight gives you two options for the effect, you either rest 1 of your opponent's 5 cost or less Characters or KO 1 of your opponent's 5 cost or less rested Characters. Either these choices will not be bad especially when this card only cost you 2 DONs to use.
New Genesis is a searcher, look at top 3 cards of your deck, reveal 1 FILM card other than New Genesis and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order and set 1 DON as active. Basically we will be using this searcher for free even if we wiff the effect, but since the build is mostly FILM cards, that will be quite difficult unless you are very unlucky.
I'm invincible is more of a back up plan in case your opponents keep wiping your boards so you rarely have any Characters to attack your opponents with. The main effect is set 1 of your Uta Leader to active. For 3 DONs, this is not too bad as you can put quite a few DONs on Uta to attack with her as a beat stick, then play I'm invincible to untap her. Although to finish off your opponents, they will need to be at low Life like 1-2 Life, but I think 2 Life might be hard unless you have plenty of Characters on the field, 1 Life will be a lot easier.
Free Play
Unfortunately, the cards that play Characters for free have been reduced to these 2. You can run OP01 Kid if you as Kid can be useful for defensive plays. FILM Brook works on play, play one 3 cost or less FILM or Straw Hat Character from your hand. Nothing too special with this effect aside from being a 5k beat stick to swing at your opponent's Leader or Characters.
FILM Luffy is a Blocker with an on play effect similar to Brook. The effect is play one 4 cost or less FILM or Straw Hat Character from your hand. With this effect, we could use Luffy to target Brook to play another Character from our hand, meaning in one turn we will be able to have 3 Characters on the field as well as having a Blocker to protect ourselves.
Power
There are 2 new additions from ST16 deck and that is the power cards to make this build hit some deadly numbers. EB01 Sanji is another 4 cost Character we could choose with Blocker Luffy's effect. You will need to attach a DON to Sanji to trigger the effect. This Character gains 1k for every 3 rested DON. Considering the maximum DONs is 10, and 1 is used for Sanji, it will means the maximum we could make Sanji's power is 8k beat stick if all the rest of the DONs is rested. I guess this is not bad for a 4 drop Character with the additional 2k counter on top of this card.
FILM Katakuri on the other have only need 6 or more rested cards which shouldn't be difficult to pull off as we could include DON cards with this effect. The effect is if your Leader is FILM type and you have 6 or more rested cards, this Character gains 2k power. What's more about this card is that the 2k power is permanent, so he will be a 6k beat stick even on your opponent's turn which is not bad for a 3 cost Character.
ST16 Luffy is another Character with a permanent power bonus if we managed to fulfil the requirements. If you have a rested Uta, this Character gains 1k power. If you want to make ST16 Luffy hit magic number, you will need to attach him a DON to work. On the bright side, we can rest any Uta, it doesn't have to be a Leader or Character just as long as the card name is Uta, and we could instantly trigger Luffy's effect.
Resting & KO
There's not really a lot of stuff to do with resting even though this deck is green, which is why these cards will be handy, maybe not Chopper. Just like EB01 Sanji, you will need to give Chopper a DON to work. When attacking, rest 1 of your opponent's 2 cost or less Characters. Chopper is only good against low cost Characters, but if your opponents have no low cost Characters in play, then Chopper effect is pretty useless and you need to give him at least 3 DONs to hit the magic number, unless you target your opponent's lower power Characters.
Like I mentioned, Hody is for the Rush ability, but can also stop any Blockers from using their Blocker ability to stop your attacks. The effect is rest up to total of 2 of your opponent's Characters or DONs. Then, add 1 card from the top of your Life to your hand. This shouldn't be too much of a problem taking your Life cards as we do gain a massive hand size with this build. We can also rest your opponent's DONs, especially if they are planning to use Event Counters from their hand.
FILM Shanks is a nice 9 drop beat stick to have, plus being a FILM Character give this card a nice advantage of being able to search this out from the deck. Previously, we didn't have any major beat stick for FILM Characters, but Shanks changed everything. The effect works on play, KO 1 of your opponent's rested Characters. The best thing about this effect is that there are no cost restrictions, so as long as that Character is rested, we can KO that Character despite the cost or power, which makes FILM Shanks really good in this build.
FILM Supports
Now for the rest of the FILM supports where I think these cards are very important for the deck. Funny enough both Uta are Blockers. FILM Nami is another searcher, but she is the main searcher as her effect works on play or when attacking. By paying 1 DON, look at the top 3 cards of your deck, reveal 1 FILM card other than Nami and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. Although we don't have FILM Law to play Nami for 1 and then pay another 1 for the effect, we do have Brook and Luffy who could play Nami for free.
ST11 Uta has an end of your turn effect. You may trash 1 Event from your hand to set 1 of your FILM Character as active. This effect can protect your FILM Characters from being attacked by your opponents or untap FILM Luffy so we could have a 7k Blocker to use during your opponent's turn.
ST16 Uta on the other hand will solve some issues with the deck, especially EB01 Sanji. The effect is an activate main effect where you may trash 1 FILM card from your hand to attach 1 rested DON to 1 of your Leader or Characters. This way we could trigger Uta Leader without the needing of saving 1 DON for the Leader to activate the effect. But this can also trigger other cards who needs attached DONs to work like Sanji or Chopper.
