PRB02 Purple/Yellow (Robin) Deck Profile

Not much of an upgrade for Robin build, since we are only running 1 card from PRB02. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to cramp more for this build. The Banish keyword definitely puts pressure against your opponents since the Life cards will go to the trash instead of into their hand, and we can use our Characters to attack rested Characters, and letting Robin to attack your opponent's Leader.

PRB02 Robin

How it Works?

What I do like about Robin is that you do not need to run a pure Trigger deck as the ramp can only last until we have 10 DONs, then, Robin's effect will be pointless, and we will only be focusing on Banish. However, you don't want a lot of non trigger cards too as this could affect some of the cards in this build who also rely on trigger ability.

I've mainly cramp the cards that are more important, but there's no Bege as I don't have the room unless I take out Luffy. I do want to keep Luffy for more removal and the extra draw is useful as we will be discarding cards in our hand. The strategy is mainly to make the full use of Robin's Banish ability as we don't want to give your opponent's cards in their hand unless we have to.

Life Gain

No Kiku in this build even though Kiku has the trigger ability that can go in this build. I barely was able to use Kiku's effect unlike these 2 cards who let us gain Life cards, as well as Ace having another ability that let us go aggressive. Kuma is another card I've added but from OP12 set which is also a recent set. Kuma has 2 effects, the first effect works on play, you may trash 1 card from your hand, add the top card of your deck to top of your Life area. Then, this Character gains +2 cost until the end of your opponent's turn. The +2 cost doesn't really matter for this build as we mainly want the Life gain ability. The second effect works during your opponent's turn and on KO, add the top card of your deck to top of your Life area.

OP07 Ace will cost you all your DONs, but you know you can get a Life card once he hits the field. The effect works on play, add the top card of your deck to top of your Life. Then, if you have 2 or less Life cards, this Character gains Rush. If we have 1 or less Life, Ace will be even better as we can attack as soon as he hits the field rather than waiting for an extra turn.

Ohara Supports

There's not a lot of Ohara supports out there, and I don't even know what's the point of making them if we only get a few cards for the build. Anyway, I am still using the same cards from my previous build. Olvia is mainly to power up Robin, so we can hit more power, but the trigger effect can also be handy. The main effect works on play, 1 of your Robin Leader gains 3k power for the turn. The extra power up is always helpful as we won't be needing to rely on DONs to works. The trigger effect is if your Leader is Robin, draw 3 cards and trash 2 cards. You only gain 1 card, but at least it is better than 0.

OP09 Saul is a Blocker, but a Blocker with 5k power which is not bad for a 3 drop. We do sacrifice counters, so you may have to use Saul as a discard fodder. The trigger effect is if your Leader is Robin, play this card. Well at least if we can get Saul in the Life area, we would be able to play him for free.

OP11 Saul is the only new card in the set, but the effect is definitely useful for a deck who mainly discard cards from hand. The effect works on play, if your Leader is Robin and you have 7 or more DONs, draw 2 cards. 7 DONs shouldn't be difficult to do considering Saul already cost 6 to play. The trigger effect is activate this card's on play effect, giving us more draw power if we needed.

Straw Hat Supports

As you can see, there's a lot of SH cards in this build, but I am not running any searchers to get these cards to hand. OP06 Onami is great for this build as we can use Banish on the Characters instead of the Leader, putting more pressure to your opponent's Life area. The effect works on play, your Leader or 1 of your Characters gains Banish for this turn. The trigger effect is KO 1 of your opponent's 5 cost or less Characters. This trigger effect will be very handy in reducing your opponent's field.

OP07 Franky is just a 2k counter vanilla with a trigger effect. The trigger effect is draw 1 card. Then, if you have 1 or less Life cards, play this card. The nice thing about this effect is that we can still draw a card even if we don't have 1 or less Life cards, and draw power is very important for this build since we are discarding a lot of the time.

OP08 Nami works the best in these kind of builds where we are running a lot of triggers, and Nami can discard any trigger cards we won't be needing for the effect. The effect works on play, you may trash 1 card with trigger from your hand to KO 1 of your opponent's 5 cost or less Characters. Then, if you have 3 or less cards in your hand, draw 1 card. We are constantly discarding our cards, so getting 3 or less cards in hand isn't difficult. The trigger effect is just activate this card's main effect.

OP07 Luffy will require low health like the Life gain cards in order to trigger the effect. The effect is an activate main effect. You may trash this card, if you have 2 or less Life, KO 1 of your opponent's 4 cost or less Characters. Then, draw 1 card. What I do like about Luffy is that we can attack with him first, then use the effect so we won't be losing out on anything. The trigger effect is basically like the main effect but without the draw power. KO 1 of your opponent's 4 cost or less Characters.

OP09 Sanji is another Rush card like Ace in this build, so we can attack as soon as he hits the field, plus he will only cost 7 to play instead of 10. The effect works on play, you may return 1 or more DONs on your field. This Character gains Rush and rest 1 of your opponent's 6 cost or less Characters. This is the only card with rest effect, I wish I could run more where we can focus on attacking your opponent's Characters whilst cards with Banish can focus on your opponent's Leader.

Trigger Characters

The cards that have trigger effects, although Hancock's main effect can be useful. ST07 Brulee is a Blocker and nothing else, but we can play her for free with the trigger effect which is play this card. Both Saul and Brulee will help to stall for time until we can get enough DONs to play our high cost Characters.

PRB02 Hancock doesn't have a counter, but shouldn't matter too much as we can use Hancock as a discard fodder if needed. Although, this will be expensive to discard as the main effect could be useful. The effect works on play, you may trash one Trigger card from your hand, your opponent's rested Leader or 1 of your opponent's Characters other than Luffy cannot attack until the end of your opponent's next End Phase. This is very useful as we can stall for time, especially if we are planning to play our big Characters on our next turn. The trigger effect is KO 1 of your opponent's 4 cost or less Characters. This effect is also very handy as we could remove 1 of your opponent's Characters.

Events

The Events is the same as my previous build, so nothing is changed here. Although, 1 of these Event doesn't have a trigger effect so we won't be able to use it for discarding. Who Should Disappear is an Event Counter. Now for this build, we have 3 options for this card. Either use this as a discard fodder for Robin's effect, aim for the trigger effect or use the counter effect. All these options will be very handy and it really depends on what you have got in your hand. The counter effect is the same as any other colours. You may trash 1 card from your hand, your Leader or 1 of your Characters gains 3k power for this battle. The trigger effect is if you have 0 Life cards, you may add the top card of your deck to top of your Life. Then, trash 1 card from your hand.

Giant is useful since our Leader is still a SH and not Ohara even though the Ohara supports support Robin Leader. Giant is still one of the best Event cards to use and the counter effect is by returning 2 DONs, you may trash 1 card from your hand, if your Leader is SH, your Leader or 1 of your Characters gains 4k power for the battle. Then, draw 2 cards. Personally, we won't lose much DONs because we've got the ramp in this deck, and especially when you are already at 10 DONs. So this card is very handy in getting the cards we need.
