OP11 Blue/Yellow (Queen) Deck Profile

It's been a while for Queen build last update, so I decided to give this build an update. There are some new cards from OP11 set that could help this build, but it is up to you if you want to run those cards in build or not. There are plenty of options as long as your main role is triggering Queen's effect so we could constantly have Life Gain or draw.

OP11 Queen

How it Works?

Like the previous build, we play this deck as defensive as possible, but also slowing down your opponent's attacks so we could play our high cost Characters to the field, triggering Queen's effect. There are plenty of ways of getting rid of your opponent's Characters, but it will be about drawing those cards to stop your opponent's attacks. If you are lucky enough, you might be able to hit the trigger effect.

The one downside to this build is that we must maintain a low hand size in order to trigger Queen's effect, the lower the hand, the better as you will be able to constantly perform Life gain, or drawing cards if you need the hand. This is also why I am mainly running a lot of Blockers in this build to completely stop your opponent's attacks instead of using counters from hand.

Arranging Top Cards

This time around, not a lot of cards that we could arrange the top cards with. They are all Blockers, but we do need to require luck to draw these cards and set up Queen's effect. OP01 Doffy's effects works on play, look at the top 5 cards of your deck and place them on top or bottom of your deck in any order.

OP08 Namule is a bit different, instead of checking the top deck like Doffy, we get to put cards from our hand to top of the deck, so we can trigger Queen's effect to put specific cards to the Life area. The effect works on play, draw 2 cards and place 2 cards at the top or bottom of your deck in any order.

OP11 Nami is similar to Namule, but we get to +1 card in our hand which might seems to be a bad thing, but not if you are low in hand size. The effect works on play, if your Leader is multicoloured, draw 3 cards and place 2 cards at the top or bottom of your deck in any order. Sometimes, you will need the hand size, so having that little draw power can help whilst arranging the cards for the Life area.

The Big Drops

We definitely need at least one 8 drop or higher on the field to make this deck work, so I decided to use these 4 cards. OP03 Katakuri can acts like a removal or Life gain depending on what you need, but I guess we will use this card as removal, because Queen can do Life gain ability. The effect works on play, place one 8 cost or less Character to the top or bottom of the owner's Life face up.

I don't know about Kid, but Kid can be handy in this build, otherwise I would swap him with 9 drop Mihawk for extra removal. OP11 Kid has 2 effects, the first effect works on play, you may rest this Character to trash the top card of your opponent's Life area. We will be rarely attacking your opponent's Leader, so this effect is really useful. The only downside is that being rested, he will be an attack target to stop Queen's effect from triggering. The second effect works at the end of your turn, if your opponent has 2 or less Life cards, draw 1 and trash 1 card from your hand. This is just a simple hand filter effect to get more counters to our hand.

OP06 Sanji is the main card of the deck as he will let us play our high cost Characters for free as long as we arranged the top cards in the right order. The effect works on play, reveal the top card of your deck, play one 9 cost or less Character other than Sanji. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. This is also why I am not running any 10 drops, so we can have 1 DON active for Queen's effect.

OP04 Yamato is a must need card for this build as she is the only one with the Life gain ability, and combined with Queen, you could possible gain 2 Life cards in one turn. The effect works on play, KO 1 of your opponent's Characters with cost equal or less the the total cards in both player's Life area. Then, if you have 1 or less Life cards, add the top card of your deck to top of your Life.

Removals

Not including the Events, we've only got 2 removals in this build, and 2 very different type of removals. OP11 Zeus is not bad for this deck as we can reduce our Life area as well as having 2k counter on this card. The effect works on play, you may add the top or bottom card of your Life area to your hand to KO 1 of your opponent's 5 cost or less Characters. This can slows your opponent down before they can start putting threats against your Leader.

OP06 Pudding is a different type of removal as we target your opponent's hand instead. In this build, we don't want to attack your opponent's Leader, just their Characters until we can get the big drop on the field. So your opponent could end up with a decent hand size they could get. The effect works on play, your opponent returns all cards from their hand to their deck and shuffles their deck. Then, your opponent draws 5 cards. They will get 5 new cards, but it is better than having a massive hand size we would need to get through.

Trigger Characters

These cards are mainly for the trigger effects, although 3 of these cards can be hard play if you need to. OP04 Bege's trigger effect is 1 of your opponent's Leader or Characters cannot attack during this turn. This is very good to have to slow your opponent's attacks down and set up the field.

ST03 Hancock and ST07 Brulee are exactly the same card, and they both go very well in this build. Their trigger effect is just play this card. I guess the only downside to them is that they have very low power, but if we can block attacks, that low power won't matter if we want to stall.

OP04 Sanji is a Blocker with a trigger effect that you may trash 1 card from your hand to play this card. We do need low hand size in order for Queen's effect to work and sometimes, when you have too much non counter cards in hand, it will makes your hand looks big as we can't use those cards until we have the DONs.

Events

The Events are still the same as the previous build as they are the best combination to work for this build. Who Should Disappear is a card that is useful in hand or in your Life area. Either way this card can play a key role for the deck. The counter effect is you may trash 1 card from your hand, 1 of your Leader or Character gains 3k power this turn. This is really useful as we have plenty of non counter cards, so playing this will enable us to have low hand size for Queen's effect. The trigger effect is if your Life is 0, you may add the top card of your deck to top of your Life. Then, trash 1 card from your hand. This is also important as it can make Queen survive even longer especially when we can constantly check the top cards to see what we can add to the Life area.

Red Roc is an Event that lets you remove any Characters you want which is very useful against big drop Characters who can put a threat on the board. The main effect is place 1 Character to the bottom of the owner's deck. Not bad for a 6 drop, especially we need to stall as long as possible to get the big drops to the field. The trigger effect is place one 4 cost or less Character to the bottom of the owner's deck. This is up to you, but using this can reduce your opponent's board presence unless you can't target any of those Characters.

Gravity Blade is more against decks who can go wide very easily. The main effect is place up to two 6 cost or less Characters to the bottom of the owner's deck. The only downside is that we can only choose 6 cost or less Characters, however, many decks will be running a lot of 6 cost or less Characters, so you will rarely have any problems not using this card. The trigger effect is place one 5 cost or less Character to the bottom of the owner's deck. Just like Red Roc, it really depends on the situation if you need to use this, it would be good to reduce the board and you won't need to use 7 DONs, but sometimes, the main effect will be just as worth it as the trigger effect.
