GCG Link Station Ep 2

A lot of interesting information for today episode. I guess I missed Ep 1, but I will make up for this for Ep 2. As you know GCG is global which means, some information here are already translated, which is great as I only need to screenshot the key information out of the video. It is over an hour long video, and some people like me just don't want to watch the entire video.

I am debating whether to play this game or not since it is Gundam, but if I don't have people to play with, it will make it hard to invest in the game just like One Piece. There are some interesting information released for Global and not limited to certain regions. I could collect some of the cards for my gunplas, and put them at the side. Although, most of the gunplas I've built are Build Fighters variant.

Cards

A very strong base card, but we do sacrifice a Shield card. Personally, it might be worth the risk considering we can stack damage on cards. Stacking damage on cards will make a huge difference than resetting the damage once per turn, so we definitely need to mark the damage, and that 1 extra damage could mean we could destroy that unit.

A keyword we need to know is support. I am actually surprised that you need to have support as a keyword instead of being a mechanic for this game. If you seen the Gundam series, most of them support each other rather than soloing the enemy. Anyway, Support will make a huge differencing in defeating the units in one hit, so we don't need to stack the damage per attacks.

It's been a long time since I last saw First Strike, and funny enough, the exact keyword works the same in this game. I definitely take First Strike considering damage stacks in this game, and First Strike will make a huge difference. If you were wondering what other game has First Strike, the game I played in the past was Final Fantasy TCG, and GCG has some similarity with that game.

Aegis's effect will definitely need a Pilot to power up the AP, but I wonder if we got any Command cards that could also power up the AP. We can only target Lv5 or higher though, but usually those Units are the Big Guns, so dealing 3 damage on top of our attack is very strong. I definitely take this even though the effect is situational, and there are set up involves for this card.

Of course, we can't forget the pilot who piloted Aegis, Athrun. Unfortunately, they didn't translate the bottom half of the effect, but luckily, we've already got the translation and that is we can attack your opponent's active unit that are Lv5 or lower. This is very good combined with Aegis, so we could deal some serious damage against your opponent's units.

Unfortunately, we will need to pair Banshee in order to rest your opponent's unit. Resting in Blue seems weird for me, as it tends to be the colour for untap in Bandai games. But I least we could rest your opponent's units so we could attack into the units to reduce their field as much as possible.

Well, if you came from One Piece, they have reversed the colours, now Green can check the top cards whereas blue will be resting. This is a very simple effect for a 1 drop, nothing major I could expand on. Although, we've only seen 2 cards so far to judge on the colours style.

This Command card is very good as every little damage counts in this game, and having this removal could destroy those units who tries to deal damage to your big unit, trying to destroy it. This may be a staple, this may not, but I can definitely see some use in this card.

Another good Command card, but instead of destroying the units, we can focus on returning those units back to hand. This would prevent destroyed effects if they have any in this game. Both cards, technically focus on the same objective which is stopping damage from your opponent's attacks.

I wonder if they messed up the art here, because I am pretty sure Deathscythe has wings. It looks very weird without them on here, unless I am thinking of the other Deathscythe and forgotten what the first one looks like. The effect is great, but you will need to pair with a Pilot as well as paying 1 resource to trigger the effect, but having an AP with +5 and First Strike is a deadly combination.

Just like Aegis, we've got Deathscythe's Pilot which is Duo, and that Link effect is very strong with Deathscythe. Not only we've got First Strike, but you can't damage Deathscythe with effects. These 2 definitely makes a deadly duo, but of course, we could pilot with other Wing Pilots, but Duo would be better as the original Pilot of the mobile suit.

Tutorial App

Not only the tutorial app is coming in late May, but we've got 7 different languages, but I am surprised, they've included traditional Chinese considering the physical card game is simplified Chinese and even the translation is simplified Chinese in this video. The others might be quite surprising, but then again I know Dragon Ball Card Game got Italian text on their cards, but I don't remember French or Spanish.

Anyway, the one thing you can also play is on the web browser and not only the app. I guess this is good for anyone who doesn't have a decent phone or ran out of storage on their phone. It is really thoughtful than just forcing people to play the tutorial on mobile devices.

You know what would be better, is making this game similar to Digimon where we have a sim to play the game. Not everyone will be able to play the game physically, and if they released like a sim like Digimon, it would be a major help, and I would be able to play the game then.

Events in US

I would assume this also applies to EU countries too, because it would be so unfair if US only get the promos, but the rest of the world doesn't not including Japan.

GD02 Preview

This might be a bit complicated, I wonder how far would Gundam Age goes, considering Age Gundam has like 6 or more different forms and that is not including other mobile suits in the series. So Gundam Age could even expand onto 2 sets. All I want for Gundam X is Double X Gundam, hopefully, we could see that card in GD02.
