EB02 Black (Lucci (OP07)) Deck Profile

As you know Lucci also got hit with Moria and Ice Age being banned making you need to find other alternatives for this build. Honestly, the new EB02 support is disappointing for this build, you will be better of not running the card at all. I am only posting this as an excuse to get an updated version of OP07 Lucci Leader deck.

EB02 Lucci

How it Works?

I've still focused on CP cards in this build as they would help us prevent decking out from Lucci's Leader effect. Personally, there are plenty of cost reducers in the build to help to reduce your opponent's Characters cost. But of course, we need to use multiple cards instead of 1 card like Ice Age to make it effective. Unfortunately, we haven't really got a Moria replacement, EB02 Blueno only works with CP cards which we are lacking in this build. I could also run EB02 Sengoku, but there are also lack of Navy choices too.

Cost Reducers

There's quite a large number of cost reducers including Lucci's Leader effect, so we should have too much of a problem in this build. Plus most of them has 2k counters if you are not planning on using the effects. OP02 Tsuru only has an simple effect, on play, reduce 1 of your opponent's Characters cost by 2 this turn.

Toy Soldier is very handy as unlike Tsuru, the effect works during the main phase. By trashing this Character, reduce 1 of your opponent's Characters cost by 3 this turn. So we can play Toy Soldier early in the game and wait for the timing to use the effect if possible, since your opponents could use removal effects to remove Toy Soldier from field.

There are 2 OP03 Kalifa in that set, but one of them is purple and the other is black, so it shouldn't be hard to find the right version. Kalifa works on play, draw 2 cards and trash 2 cards from your hand. Then, reduce 1 of your opponent's Characters cost by 2 this turn. So not only she is a cost reducer, but we also get a hand filter effect.

4 drop Kuzan is very handy in this build, mainly because we don't have Ice Age, so I am maximising the number of copies of Kuzan. 4 drop Kuzan has 2 effects, the first effect works on play, draw 1 card. The second effect is the main effect we are after. The effect works when attacking, reduce 1 of your opponent's Characters cost by 4 this turn.

OP07 Kaku is optional, but I needed a CP card so that's why I am running him in the build. At least he has a 2k counter we can use. The effect works on play, you may place 2 cards with type including CP from your trash to bottom of your deck in any order, reduce 1 of your opponent's Characters cost by 3 this turn. The problem with this card is that he has the exact same cost reducer as Toy Soldier, but of course, we won't be decking out thanks to the returning.

Lastly I am running 10 drop Kuzan. 10 drop Kuzan has become more important for these kinds of build as we can reduce all your opponent's Characters instead of using multiple cost reducers to target 1 card. Just like his 4 drop version, we've got 2 effects. The first effect works on your turn, reduce all of your opponent's Characters cost by 5. This is a continuous effect, so if we can get him to the field, it would be a great help to the set up. The second effect works on play, KO 1 of your opponent's 0 cost Character.

Removals

Just like cost reducers, there's also a large amount of removals, constantly removing your opponent's Characters. But of course, they can only target low levels, so we really need our cost reducers working to get these cards pop off. EB01 Brook can work as both cost reducing and remove at the same time. The effect on play or when attacking, reduce 1 of your opponent's Characters cost by 1 this turn. Then, KO 1 of your opponent's 0 cost Characters.

OP05 Lucci is another card that can put cards from our trash to deck, but unlike our other CP cards, Lucci doesn't require us to put CP types from trash to deck. The effect works on play, you may place 3 cards to the bottom of your deck, KO 1 of your opponent's 2 cost or less Characters and 1 of your opponent's 1 cost or less Characters. If you can get 10 drop Kuzan on the field when you play this card, you can easily KO 2 of your opponent's Characters unless those Characters are high cost.

I am only running OP03 Kaku for the CP name, and just like the OP07 version, we will need to return CP cards from trash to deck to work. The effect works on play, you may place 2 cards with type including CP from your trash to bottom of the deck in any order. KO 1 of your opponent's 3 cost or less Characters.

OP08 Jack is a nice staple for this deck, we can pretty much ignore the first effect as it doesn't matter too much, except if your opponents can target high cost Characters, then the plus will be helpful. The first effect is this Character gains 4 cost, making Jack a 11 cost Character, making your opponents difficult to remove. The second effect is an activate main effect, you may rest this Character to draw and trash 1 card from your hand. Then, KO up to 1 of your opponent's 3 cost or less Characters.

Lastly, I am running OP07 Sabo, and he also works best if you have 10 drop Kuzan on the field just like Lucci. The effect works on play, you may trash 1 card from your hand, KO 1 of your opponent's 5 cost or less Characters and 1 of your opponent's 3 cost or less Characters. The reason why we need Kuzan on the field is so we can target even 10 cost Characters with Sabo's effect as that 10 cost will be reduced to 5.

Blockers

I am still running these Blockers in the build as their effect can come in really handy. OP05 Rebecca works on play, add one black 3 to 7 cost Character other than Rebecca from your trash to your hand. Then, play one 3 cost or less from your hand rested. Although the 3 cost or less will be lacking some choices, but returning certain cards to hand won't be much of a problem.

OP04 Sabo is just a 1 of in the build since he only works at a specific moment to protect your cards. So if you see Sabo early with an empty field, he becomes like a dead card in your hand. The effect works on play effect, none of your Characters can be KO'd by effects until the start of your next turn. Then, draw 2 cards and trash 2 cards. Of course, there are ways to get around this effect.

CP Supports

As for the CP supports, we've got these cards, although the Events can be used in any builds, but we can search them out in this deck. OP03 Spandam is a searcher, if your Leader is CP type, look at top 3 card of your deck, reveal 1 CP type card other than Spandam and add it to your hand. Trash the rest. Unfortunately, we can only look at top 3 cards, and with lack of CP cards, this might be very difficult to pull off, and you will just get the mill instead.

The one thing I don't like about EB02 Blueno is that they literally put no effort into the art at all. This is just a screenshot of the Water 7 arc. Anyway, the effect is an activate main, you may trash 1 card from your hand and this Character to play one 5 cost or less Character including CP type other than Blueno from your trash. The best part is that we can attack with Blueno before using the effect, so we won't be wasting a Character on the field.

Six King Pistol is Black 0 cost counter, so the counter effect will be in any colours. The counter effect is you may trash 1 card from your hand 1 of your Leader or Character gains 3k power this battle. The only difference will be their trigger effect as each colours will be different. The trigger effect is draw 1 card, KO 1 of your opponent's 1 cost or less Characters. Now the draw would be helpful, but not the KO effect as 1 cost will be very low to target.

Tempest Kick will be very easy to trigger the full requirement in this build even with the amount of returning cards to the deck, as we will be constantly milling cards per turn. The main effect is draw 1 card, then if you have 10 or more cards in trash, reduce 1 of your your opponent's Characters cost by 3 this turn. The trigger effect is KO 1 of your opponent's 3 cost or less Characters.
