LM Blue (MalgaX) Deck Profile

Unfortunately, MalgaX took the worst hit possible, it feels like Bandai made those cards just to get hit in the ban list. Greymon builds doesn't even hurt as much compare to Malga. A lot of the evolution line has been limited, leaving us with very few choices to choose from, considering the others aren't really good, or work well with the deck style, whilst Greymon build have plenty of options to choose from, I guess we can say, they prefer Greymon as the main face of Digimon Card Game.

LM MalgaX

How it Works?

What this deck is missing is a Gabumon who can search for Matt Tamer like Agumon as well as Garurumon search. What matters is making this deck work as blue Matt is the key Tamer we want to have in play as that Tamer give us the memory, especially having multiple copies out at the same time. It doesn't matter if your opponent give us 1 memory to work with, as long as blue Matt is on the field, we can still digivolve into the Digimon we need. We've got good amount of draw power, as a lot of the cards are either draw or search cards, so you won't have trouble with hand size.

What I also like about this build, I assume, WarGreymon build will be relatively similar, is the ability to cheat out our megas. Both BoF Ace and BT15 Malga has conditions that need to be met, but once met, we can digivolve on top of Gabumon ignoring the other levels. Yes, we won't be getting a lot of inherited effects, but I guess in return, we will have something that can put a threat against your opponents.

Malga + X Antibody Forms

Starting off with the main Digimon of the deck, Malga and MalgaX. Most of them are very effective once we can digivolve them into the field. BT15 Malga can be digivolve on top of Lv5 Garurumon in its name for 4. Nothing really changes here, aside from we can digivolve on top of a non blue Garurumon if we are running them. However, we have a second alternative, while you have Matt Tamer and your opponent has 10k DP or higher Digimon, one of your Gabumon may digivolve into this card from your hand with the digivolution cost of 4 and ignoring the digivolution requirements. Malga have Evade with 2 effects. The first effect works when digivolving, 3 of your opponent's Digimon and Tamers can't suspend until the end of their turn. This is a very strong effect as it prevents your opponents from using suspending effects or attacking. The second effect works all turn, once per turn, when this Digimon becomes suspended, unsuspend this Digimon, allowing Malga to attack twice per turn.

BT9 MalgaX is good and bad at the same time, because of the effect. You can digivolve on top of Malga for 1, then we have 2 effects. The first effect works when digivolving, unsuspend this Digimon and it gains Blocker until the end of your opponent's turn. This is okay, at least we get to stop 1 of your opponent's attacks for 1 turn. The second effect is the main effect I am after. When this Digimon becomes unsuspended, if Malga or X Antibody is in this Digimon's digi source, return all cards with the lowest level to your opponent's hand. This is great against certain rush builds with certain levels. However, if your opponent only has 1 Digimon, that is even better as we can return that Digimon to your opponent's hand.

EX1 Malga works the best during the late stage of the game where we draw and search plenty of cards in order to make use of the effect. We've got 2 effects, the first effect works when digivolving, gain 1 memory for every 4 cards in your hand. So the more cards you've got in your hand, the more memory you can gain, and basically costing 0 to digivolve. The second effect is not the best if your opponents doesn't run certain abilities in their build, you might as well then digivolve on top for MalgaX. The second effect works when attacking, if you have 8 or more cards in hand and a Tamer in play, return 1 of your opponent's Digimon with On Deletion ability to the bottom of the owner's deck. There are a lot of On Deletion effects out there, but it also depends if your opponents are running them in their build or not to fully utilise this card.

Lastly, EX5 MalgaX as we've got 2 MalgaX in this build. Just like BT9 version, we can digivolve on top of Malga for 1. It has Blocker with 2 effects. The first effect works when digivolving, if Malga or X Antibody is in this Digimon's digi source, all of your opponent's Digimon gains when they attack, lose 4 memory until the end of your opponent's turn. This is a very strong effect as it prevents your opponent from finishing you off on that turn. The second effect works when attacking, by returning 1 Digimon from your trash to the bottom of the deck, delete 1 of your opponent's Digimon with the same level. It is important to run all of the level cards in this build, so we can delete any level we want in this build.

X Antibodies

There are more, but I'll be covering them in a different section, because you know, I rather have them space out than put them together in a section. EX5 WereGaruruX can be digivolve on top of WereGaruru for 1. The effect works when digivolving, by trashing 2 cards, you can unsuspend this Digimon. If WereGaruru or X Antibody is in this Digimon's digi source, you may return 1 Digimon card with Garurumon in its name or X Antibody in its name in your trash to your hand. Basically we will be only losing out on 1 card in our hand. Although, I am not too sure about the unsuspending, unless we can attack your opponent's low DP Digimon, then unsuspend with this card. The inherited effect is what I am after, when attacking, if this Digimon has Garurumon or Omnimon in its name, by trashing 1 card from your hand, unsuspend this Digimon. The unsuspending will definitely help, especially with MalgaX who have Blocker abilities, so we can use them to block, or we can combine this with BT15 Malga to attack 3 times with 1 Digimon.

BT9 GaruruX works different as this is just a plain vanilla when on the field, however, we do have an inherited effect. You can digivolve on top of Garuru for 0. The inherited effect works all turn. When this Digimon has Garuru or Omnimon in its name would be deleted in battle, you may trash 2 cards with the same level in this Digimon's digi source to prevent that deletion. This is pretty good, especially against Security Digimon, so we could swing at your opponents without the need to worry about our Digimon getting deleted.

BT9 GabumonX works different as this card can be hard play if needed if you need the search. You can digivolve on top of Gabumon for 0. The effect works on play or when digivolving, reveal the top 3 cards of your deck, add 1 Garuru or Omnimon in its name and 1 X Antibody among them to your hand. Place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. This is a decent searcher to search out the cards we need, but too bad we can't search for our Tamer.

The Limited

The 3 cards that got hit by the ban list and not because I want to run them as 1 of in the build. If I wanted, I would have run the maximum copies possible as these cards work so much better for the deck. I assume they are limited for the same reason, and that is their inherited effects. Promo WereGaruru has a very simple main effect which works when attacking, if Garuru is in this Digimon's digi source, unsuspend this Digimon. This is not as important as we don't have Jamming. What's important is the inherited effect. While you have 8 or more cards in hand, this Digimon gains Security Attack +1. This is easy to trigger for this build and combine this with WereGaruruX and BT15 Malga, we can wipe your opponent's Security in one go.

EX5 GaruruX is another card that got hit, but unlike WereGaruruX, you definitely need either Garuru or X Antibody in the digi source if you want to gain 1 memory. You can digivolve on top of Garuru for 0. The effect works when digivolving, draw 2 cards and trash 2 cards in your hand. If Garuru or X Antibody is in this Digimon's digi source, gain 1 memory. This is just a hand filter effect, pretty standard, but if we can combine this with other cards, it would become more deadly. The inherited effect is similar to the BT9 version, When this Digimon has Garuru or Omnimon in its name would be deleted in battle, by returning 2 non digi egg from your trash to bottom of your deck, prevent that deletion. Now is this inherited effect is what makes this card broken, as setting up the trash is very easy to do, and we only need to return 2 non digieggs to prevent the deletion.

EX5 GabumonX is just like the BT9 version where the effect works on play or when digivolving. However, we can also digivolve on top of Tsunomon as well as Gabumon for 0. The main effect is reveal the top 4 cards of your deck, add 2 cards with Garuru or X Antibody in their names. Place the rest at the bottom of your deck. If you've added a card, trash 1 card from your hand. The search effect is amazing as we get to add 2 cards instead of 1, of course, as we need to trash, the end result would be the same. The inherited effect is exactly the same EX5 GaruruX and the same reason why this card is also limited. When this Digimon has Garuru or Omnimon in its name would be deleted in battle, by returning 2 non digi egg from your trash to bottom of your deck, prevent that deletion.

Evolution Line

For the evolution line, we've got these cards. EX1 WereGaruru is to fill in the empty slot of promo WereGaruru as we are limited to 1 for that card. In return, I think EX1 version has been pretty good, but not as impactful as promo WereGaruru. The main effect works when digivolving, draw a card. A simple drawing will help you trigger some effects in this build. The inherited effect works when attacking, if you have 8 or more cards in your hand, gain 1 memory. Again 8 or more cards in hand is not difficult to do for this build.

BT15 Garuru is a lot better than BT14 Greymon we've got. The effect is similar, but BT15 Garuru is definitely a lot better. You can digivolve on top of Lv3 Gabumon in its for 2. The effect works when digivolving, if you have a Matt Tamer in play, draw a card. If you don't have Matt Tamer in play, play 1 Matt Tamer from your hand with the play cost reduced by 3. Luckily, the Matt Tamer we are running is a 3 drop Tamer. What's more this is a win win effect, if we have one in play, we can just draw a card to increase the hand size, and if we don't, we can play Matt for free. The inherited effect works when attacking, draw a card.

BT15 Gabumon can stay on the field if you want the main effect as it definitely build up a better defence for this build. You can digivolve on top of Tsunomon for 0. The effect works at the start of your main phase, 1 of your Digimon gains Blocker. Then if you have Matt in play, draw a card. Not only we get to give our Digimon Blocker ability if they don't have one already, but we can also draw a card if Matt is in play just like BT15 Garuru. The inherited effect is exactly the same as BT15 Garuru, when attacking, draw a card.

Searchers

Drawing is not the only way we can increase our hand size as we also got searchers. Personally, I like searchers, the more cards we search, the higher chances we've got for the specific card we need to pull off the combo. BT5 Gabumon works on play, reveal top 3 cards of your deck, add 1 Garuru in its name and 1 Omnimon in its name among them to your hand. Place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. I most likely hard play this for the search effect, unless I've got all the cards I need, then I could ignore the effect and digivolve on top of a digiegg.

BT15 Matt is the main Tamer we want to see in our hand. We don't have any Tamer searchers, so we need to draw this card as soon as possible, or hope your opponents hit this card in your security. There's 2 effect with the first effect works on play, reveal top 3 cards of your deck, add 1 Gabumon or Garuru in its name to your hand. Place the rest at the bottom of your deck. A nice search effect to increase the chances of getting the cards we need. But I don't care about the search, what's important is the second effect. When one of your Digimon add cards to your hand, by suspending this Tamer, gain 1 memory. Adding cards to our hand is very easy to do, and if we can get at least 2 Matt in play, it will make the memory a lot easier to work with. The security effect is play this card without paying the memory cost.

The Lv7s

BoF Ace is not the only Lv7 I am running in this build as I am also running OmniX since some cards also work with Omnimon as well as Garuru in this build. BoF Ace can digivolve on top of Gabumon if you have 2 or less security for 3 memory. This is very nice as we can cheat this out instead of digivolving normally. We have Blast Digivolve with 2 other effects. BoF's first effect works on play or when digivolving, return 2 of your opponent's Digimon with equal or less digi source cards than this Digimon to the bottom of the deck. As this is X Antibody deck, we will be stacking a lot of cards into 1 Digimon, easily clearing out your opponent's Digimon unless they are playing DNA digivolve build. The second effect works when attacking, if you have a Tamer, unsuspend this Digimon. I am only running 4 Tamers, and without a Tamer search, might be difficult unless we get the draw power running.

BT10 OmniX is a card I really like, we are not running Omnimon, but we are running X Antibody, so we can use the full effect. When a Digimon with X Antibody is in the digi source would digivolve into this card, reduce the digivolution cost by 2. So basically we can digivolve into OmniX for 5, it is a lot, but way better than pay 7. We've got 2 effects, the first effect works when digivolving, return all of your opponent's Digimon with the highest level to the bottom of the owner's deck in any order. BT9 MalgaX might return lowest level back to your opponent's hand, OmniX can target the highest. The second effect works when digivolving or when attacking, by placing 1 X Antibody or Lv6 card from this Digimon's digi source to the bottom of the owner's deck. Reveal all of your opponent's security cards and trash 1 of them. Place the rest in your opponent's security stack face down and then your opponents shuffle their security stack. This is amazing as we could use this twice to 3 times in a game, removing any cards that could be a threat to your Digimon.

Option Cards

The option cards are very simple, 2 of them reduces digivolution cost and 1 of them is X Antibody, a key card to this build to trigger some of the effects. Blue Scramble's main effect is 1 of your blue Digimon may digivolve into a Blue Digimon from your hand with the reduced digivolution cost by 3. Then, place this card in your battle area. So we can use this when we digivolve into our Lv5 or Lv6 Digimon to reduce the amount of memory needed. The delay effect works at the start of your turn and if your opponent has a Digimon, return 1 blue Digimon from your trash to the top of your deck, then if you don't have a Digimon in play, you may play 1 blue Digimon with 2k DP or less from your trash without paying the cost. The returning does help, especially when we are trashing a lot of cards, and sometimes you might be forced to trash some cards you need to trigger the effect. The security effect is pretty much the same as the delay effect. You may play 1 blue Digimon with 2k DP or less from your trash without paying the cost. Then, add this card to the hand.

Mental Training is important as this is the only card who can search out Matt Tamer as we need Matt Tamer to play a key role for this build. The main effect is reveal the top 2 cards of your deck, add 1 blue card among them to your hand. Place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. Then, place this card in your battle area. The second effect is a delay effect, 1 of your Digimon may digivolve into a blue Digimon in your hand with the digivolution cost reduced by 2. 2 is not a lot, but it is still better than paying the full digivolution cost in this build. The security effect is place this card in the battle area.

X Antibody is still pretty good for this build as some of the X Antibody cards are high cost, which means we will be passing the memory to your opponent's turn. This is why I am using this card over Proto Form. You can play this card ignoring colour requirements if you have a Digimon in play. The security effect is gain 1 memory and add this card to your hand. The main effect is place this card under 1 of your Digimon without X Antibody in its digi source as its bottom digi source card. Then, we have 2 inherited effect, the first inherited effect is effect can't trash X Antibody in this Digimon's digi source. The second effect works when attacking, this Digimon can digivolve into a Digimon with X Antibody trait in your hand by paying the digivolution cost. So we could digivolve into cards like OmniX and trigger the when digivolving effect.
