BT18 Red (Susanoomon) Deck Profile

I've decided to make a red version focus of Susanoomon instead of going rainbow colour for Hybrid. Making rainbow Hybrid is more trickier to make this card work instead of a single colour. Although what I like about this build is that we can either cheat out our megas or digivolving the normal way whilst playing Tamers for free. The only downside is that we have to rely on Tamers, and if we don't get any Tamers, we can't make this deck reach it full potential.

BT18 Susanoomon

How it Works?

As you can see, I've tried to add as much different Hybrid Digimon as possible, but keeping those Digimon red base because of BT18 Bokomon who can only search for red Tamers. Not to mention, they can digivolve on top of each other if you wanted, but the cost will cost a lot if it is not their digivolution line, and we don't have any memory boost for this deck aside from Bokomon.

Anyway, like all Hybrid builds, we focus on digivolving on top of Tamer, you just need 1 Tamer on the field to make the deck work, and with 8 searchers who can search for Hybrid and Tamers, you should be able to get them easily. I do want to run more, but I don't want to reduce the numbers down, and the Option cards are very useful in this build, especially if they are back up effects. Although, as we rely on Tamers, we can lose easily against really aggressive decks if we don't draw the right hybrid to stop the attacks. But I guess, we leave it all to luck and our searchers.

The Megas

The only Megas you will need in the build as the deck mainly focus on BT18 EmperorGreymon with BT18 Susanoomon who can act as an extra support. BT18 EmperorGreymon can digivolve on top of Takuya with 5 Hybrid trait for 5 memory. This is possible thanks to Takuya & Koji Tamer who can grab Hybrid trait Digimon from the trash. Although, we are also running an Option card who could let us digivolve into EmperorGreymon as well. BT18 EmperorGreymon have 2 effects, the first effect works when digivolving, for each colour in this Digimon's digi source, trash any 1 digi source from your opponent's Digimon and suspend 1 of your opponent's Digimon. Then, this Digimon may attack. The second part of the effect is very useful in case we pass the memory to our opponent's turn, because 5 is a lot of memory we are giving away. The second effect is when this Digimon deletes your opponent's Digimon in battle, it gains Security Attack +1 and unsuspend this Digimon. Thanks to this effect, we can constantly clear your opponent's board whilst also dealing security check against your opponents.

I personally don't think BT18 Susanoomon is a finisher as you will need to rely on EmperorGreymon to clear out the security in order for Susanoomon to be effective. You can digivolve on Takuya or Koji with 10 Hybrid trait for 6 memory. 10 Hybrid might be a bit difficult unless you can place like 6-7 onto Takuya & Koji in one turn. But it is a nice alternative digivolve condition if you don't have EmperorGreymon. We've got Blast Digivolve with 2 effects, the first effect works when digivolving or when attacking, delete 1 of your opponent's 10k DP or less Digimon. For each colour in this Digimon's digi source, add 2k to this DP deletion effect maximum. Well, I guess the more colours we've got, the more DP we can delete, and I am running 6 in total, only colour missing are black and white. The second effect works when attacking, by placing up to 5 Tamers from this Digimon's digi source as the bottom security cards, trash your opponent's top security card. To make use of this second effect, I am only running 1 option card that can put Tamers into the digi source just in case you need it, as getting those recovery whilst trashing your opponent's security will be very handy.

Searchers

Obviously, relying on mulligan doesn't always work if we don't draw the cards we need, especially the Tamers, which is why the rookie section all focus on searching the cards we need. BT17 Flamemon works on play, reveal top 3 cards of your deck, add 1 card with Hybrid or Ten Warriors and 1 Tamer with an inherited effect. Return the rest to the bottom of your deck. Being an extra hybrid on top will be very handy to trigger some of the option card's effects. The inherited effect works on deletion, you may play 1 Tamer with inherited effect from your hand without paying the cost. Unfortunately, we can only play Tamers from hand, and I personally think, we've got a lot of that already.

BT18 Bokomon works very well in this build, especially since I've decided to focus on a red base Hybrid Susanoomon deck. BT18 Bokomon have 2 effects, the first effect works on play, reveal top 3 cards of your deck, add 1 card with Hybrid or Ten Warriors and 1 red Tamer with an inherited effect. Return the rest to the bottom of your deck. We shouldn't have any problem with the searching as they are all red colour cards.  The second effect is when any of your Digimon or Tamers digivolve into a Digimon with Hybrid or Ten Warriors trait, gain 1 memory. This effect is actually better than BT7 version as I think BT7 version only works with you digivolve on top of Tamer, whilst BT18 version works with Digimon as well.

I am actually running BT7 Bokomon, but I haven't really figure out how many copies I should run in build, but testing the deck, running BT7 Bokomon as 1 actually work. BT7 Bokomon has 2 effects, the first effect works on play, reveal top 5 cards of your deck, add 1 card with Hybrid or Ten Warriors and 1 Tamer among them to your hand. Place the rest at the bottom in any order. What I like about BT7 version is that we can look at the top 5 cards instead of 3, with being 5 cards, we can have a higher chance of searching the cards we want. The second effect is when one of your Tamers digivolves, gain 2 memory. As this is a hybrid deck, we do want to digivolve on top of Tamers, and those Hybrid mostly cost 2 to digivolve on certain Tamers, making the cost technically free unlike BT18 version.

Takuya's Hybrids

Now the Takuya line for Hybrid. Well, I personally think, they are the obvious choice, but compare to the others in the build, they don't really do much aside from their inherited effects. Takuya & Koji is the main Tamer to set up for both EmperorGreymon and Susanoomon. There are 3 effects with the first effect being a security effect, you can play this card without paying the cost. The second effect is a memory setter with the final effect works your the start of your main phase, you may place 1 Hybrid trait with different card names from your trash under this Tamer. For each of your other Tamer, add 2 the maximum number you can play. There are quite a variety in this build, so you can add a lot in 1 go if you set up different hybrid in the trash. The inherited effect works at the end of your turn, this Digimon with Hybrid or Ten Warriors trait may attack a play, acting like a Blitz when you pass your memory to your opponents.

BT17 BurningGreymon is okay, but in order to make the full use of Raid, we do need more power unless you are only taking our your opponent's low DP Digimon. BT17 BurningGreymon can be digivolve on top of Takuya for 2 or Agunimon for 1. We have Raid and a when attacking effect, this Digimon may digivolve into a Hybrid trait from your hand with the digivolution cost reduced by 1. This effect is quite handy as we could reduce other digivolve cost down to 2 as the other cost 3 to digivolve if they are not the Takuya line. he inherited effect is this Digimon gains 2k DP.

BT18 Agunimon is not very good if we can't get Hybrid in the trash, but if we can then the effect will be very handy. You can digivolve on top of Takuya for 2 or BurningGreymon for 0. Then, we have a when digivolving effect where you can return 1 Hybrid or Ten Warriors trait or Tamer with an inherited effect from your trash to your hand. This helps to bring back certain cards from your trash if that Digimon end up being deleted by battle or by your opponent's effects. The inherited effect is the exact same as BurningGreymon where this Digimon gains 2k DP. So if you have these 2 stack, your Digimon could gain 4k DP in one go.

Out of the Hybrids in this build, BT7 Aldamon is the only Hybrid that works with any Hybrid. You can reduce the digivolution cost if your Digimon has a Tamer card digivolve into this card, the cost is reduced by 1. So as long as that Digimon has a Tamer card underneath, then we can always digivolve into Aldamon for 1 memory, and that is very useful, especially if we want to digivolve into EmperorGreymon after. The main effect works when digivolving, if a Hybrid trait is in this Digimon digi's source, this Digimon gains 4k DP. Not to mention, if we digivolve into EmperorGreymon, I think it carries that power over to EmperorGreymon allowing you to take out any Digimon you want or swing at your opponent's security stack. The inherited effect is whilst this Digimon has the Hybrid or Ten Warriors trait, it doesn't activate Security effects on Option cards it checks. This is very helpful as Option cards could run our turn if they end up removing our main Digimon.

Tommy's Hybrids

For the Tommy's line, we focus on trashing your opponent's digi source like the blue style of the deck. By trashing the digi source, we can slow your opponent's down which is very helpful for this build who requires set up to get the deck working. BT18 Tommy has a security effect which is play this card without paying the cost and a main effect. The effect works at the start of your main phase, by trashing 1 Hybrid or Ten Warriors, gain 1 memory. The 1 extra memory might help, especially if you are hard playing cards. The inherited effect works when attacking, trash the bottom digi source of 1 of your opponent's Digimon. Then, if your opponent has no Digimon with digi source, draw 1 card. The draw is very useful, the more cards we can draw, the more choices we can discard for Tommy's main effect.

BT18 Kumamon will help you set up Tommy's inherited effect. You can digivolve on top of Tommy for 2 or Korikamon for 0, and the main effect comes with 2 effect. The first effect works when digivolving, trash the bottom 2 digi source of 1 of your opponent's Digimon. The second effect works when attacking, 1 of your Digimon or Tamers may digivolve into a blue or red Hybrid trait Digimon from your hand with the digivolution cost reduced by 1. This effect is very different than BurningGreymon as it lets you digivolve on any cards rather than just this Digimon. The inherited effect works all turn, when this Digimon would leave the battle area other than by one of your effects, you may play 1 Tamer card with an inherited effect from this digi source without paying the cost. Thanks to this effect, we can protect the Tamer from being deleted and just lose our Digimon instead.

BT18 Korikakumon is a card I mainly digivolve on top of Kumamon even though when Kumamon digivolve on top of Korikakumon, it cost 0. This is because, if we digivolve on top of Tommy, it will cost us 3 memory whilst digivolving on top of Kumamon will only cost 1. However, if we trigger Kumamon's when attacking effect, this digivolve cost will become free. Korikakumon has Jamming, so we won't need to worry about getting our Digimon deleted with an on play or when digivolving effect. 1 of your opponent's Digimon with no digi source can't suspend until the end of their turn. This effect is like the new Hexeblau where we can stop your opponents from attacking or using Blocker ability, slower your opponents down for a turn. The inherited effect is just Jamming, so we won't need to worry about our Digimon getting deleted by Security Digimon.

BT18 DaiPenmon is very handy, and it is one of our cards where we can remove your opponent's Digimon through effect rather than attack. You can digivolve on top of blue or red Lv4 Hybrid trait Digimon for 3. But we also have alternative digivolve way by placing 1 Kumamon and 1 Korikakumon from your trash under 1 of your blue or red Tamers, and that Tamer can digivolve into this card, ignoring the digivolution requirements and for the digivolve cost of 3. Getting both Kumamon and Korikakumon to the trash will be very easy as we have plenty of cards we can trash. We've got Iceclad and a when digivolving effect, delete 1 of your opponent's Digimon with no digi source. If we can get those Digimon with 0 digi source, then DaiPenmon can remove those Digimon with ease. The inherited effect is just this Digimon gains 2k DP like BurningGreymon and Agunimon, but work for all turn instead of your turn.

Zoe's Hybrids

I think out of the Tamers in this build, what shock me those most is Zoe who went from Yellow to Christmas Hybrid. Well she isn't the only Tamer that was a shock as we also got J.P who went from Green to Black Yellow. Anyway, I do prefer having Zoe on the field rather than Tommy because of the effect. The security effect is play this card without paying the cost whilst the main effect works at the start of your main phase. By trashing 1 card with Hybrid or Ten Warriors, draw a card. This is just a hand filter effect, but the more cards we can filter through, the more cards we can get to the trash whilst Tommy is mainly for the inherited effect. The inherited is when this Digimon deletes an opponent's Digimon by battle, you may play 1 Tamer with inherited effects without paying the cost. This is very easy to do because, we want to attack Digimon with EmperorGreymon, triggering Zoe's inherited, letting us play more Tamers for free.

BT18 Kazemon is okay, you can digivolve on top of Zoe for 2 or Zephymon for 0. The when digivolving effect is suspend 1 of your opponent's Digimon. This would let us attack that Digimon to trigger Zoe's inherited effect. The when attacking effect is pretty much the same as BT18 Kumamon, when attacking, 1 of your Digimon or Tamers may digivolve into a green or red Hybrid trait Digimon from your hand with the digivolution cost reduced by 1. So instead of blue or red hybrid, we can choose green or red hybrid instead, not like it matters too much as this is a red base deck. The inherited effect is exactly the same as Kumamon. When this Digimon would leave the battle area other than by one of your effects, you may play 1 Tamer card with an inherited effect from this digi source without paying the cost. Well, we've kinda got no choice to have them stack each other because of different hybrid name.

BT18 Zephyrmon makes Kazemon's when digivolve effect even better, pretty much similar to BT7 Aldamon. You can digivolve on top of Zoe for 3 or Kazemon for 1. Obviously we want to trigger Kazemon first as Kazemon can digivolve into Zephyrmon for free. We've got Piercing and an on play or when digivolving effect, 1 of your Digimon gains 3k DP until the end of your opponent's turn. The 3k bonus can make a difference if your opponents are trying to delete your Digimon, plus the Piercing on top means your opponent will do security checks even if their Digimon is deleted. The inherited effect is Piercing, and Piercing will work very well with EmperorGreymon, triggering the unsuspending and making your opponents do 2 security checks instead of 1 because of the timing of activation for EmperorGreymon.

BT18 JetSilphymon isn't as effective as BT18 DaiPenmon, but can slow your opponents down like BT18 Korikakumon. You can digivolve on top of green or red Lv4 hybrid for 3 memory. We also got another alternative digivolution by placing 1 Kazemon and Zephyrmon from your trash under 1 of your green or red Tamers, that Tamer digivolve into this card for 3 ignoring the digivolution requirements. Again, not difficult to set up both Kazemon and Zephyrmon to the trash thanks to Tommy and Zoe's effect. We've got Raid and Raid will be deadly with Piercing, with a when digivolving effect. Suspend 1 of your opponent's Digimon or Tamers and that card can't unsuspend until the end of their turn. Even if they don't have Digimon in play, we could target their Tamers to stop those Tamers from using their effect if they require the need to suspend. The inherited effect is the exact same as DaiPenmon where this Digimon gains 2k DP.

Option Cards

Each of these options are great for this build, so it is hard for me to run this deck without these Option cards. Ancient Guardian can be a great back up especially if we can't trigger Zoe's effect. This card can be played from your hand ignoring the colour requirements if you have a Tamer or a Digimon with Hybrid trait. The effect is you may return 1 Digimon with Hybrid or Ten Warriors trait from your trash to your hand. Then, you may play 1 Digimon with Ten Warriors trait or 1 Tamer with inherited effect from your hand with the play cost reduced by 4. Basically instead of hard playing those Tamers, they will only cost 2 to play with the except of Takuya & Koji who will be reduced to 1, but Takuya & Koji can be played using Zoe's effect. The security effect is you may play 1 Tamer with an inherited effect from your hand or trash without paying the cost. Then, add this card to your hand. This will let us play any Tamers we want from our hand.

Wind to Flame, Ice to Sword is mainly to play EmperorGreymon, however, you need all 3 colours on the field to work, and that is easy to do by getting 1 Tommy and Zoe to fill up the colour requirement. The main effect is you may place up to 5 hybrid trait cards with different card name from your hand or trash under 1 of your Tamers. Then, 1 of your Tamers with 5 or more cards under it may digivolve into EmperorGreymon from your hand or trash, ignoring the digivolution requirements and without paying the cost. Instead of cost 5 to digivolve, this will make us cost 3 instead, and getting 5 or more under a Tamer isn't difficult to do if you set up the trash and hand correctly. The security effect is the same as Ancient Guard, you may play 1 Tamer with an inherited effect from your hand or trash without paying the cost. Then, add this card to your hand. So seeing this card in your security will let us play our Tamers for free.

The final card, Lord of Devastation. You can play this deck without this card, but the other 2 is a must, however, Lord of Devastation is the only option card where we can stack Tamers into Susanoomon, making Susanoomon being able to trash your opponent's security in one go whilst we gain some security. You can play this card whilst you have a Hybrid or Ten Warriors trait Digimon, ignoring the colour requirements. The main effect is 1 of your Digimon or Tamers may digivolve into Susanoomon in your hand or trash without paying the cost. Then, by placing up to 4 Tamers with different colours under 1 of your Susanoomon as its bottom digi source, gain 1 memory for each 1 place. As I am only running 3 different Tamers, we can only gain 3 memory, but 3 memory is enough instead of paying the full 6. The security effect is the same as Ancient Guard and Wind to Flame, you may play 1 Tamer with an inherited effect from your hand or trash without paying the cost. Then, add this card to your hand. Seeing any of these cards in your security will enable you to play more Tamers from hand instead of hard playing them.
