OP08 Purple/Yellow (Crocodile) Deck Profile

This is just a deck idea I came up with utilising the Life gain effects for both colours. I still kept most of the engine the same, but added 1 card from OP08 set to this build, since I doubt we would get more Baroque Works support later on the game. I don't think this build will work in a competitive format, but casual, it is a pretty fun deck to use.

OP08 Crocs

How it Works?

I've tried to include as much cards as possible for this deck as there are plenty of cards who can work for this build. The main focus of this build is to play our ramp cards so we can play our big drops. All the big drop we have in this build all provide Life gain abilities so we could last longer in games. Not to mention that most of the Baroque Works cards have Trigger effects which can be helpful combining with our Life gain cards.

This is a heavy triggered base deck which is why I have also added Hiyori so we could swap the cards in our hand to activate their trigger effects. There is a card  you could run in this build, and that is OP07 Ace if you want more Life gain, plus Ace has Rush if you managed to get 2 or less Life. You could replace 2 ST07 Big Mom for 2 OP07 Ace as ST07 Big Mom won't be very effective if your opponents have 0 Life cards in their Life area.

Ramp

Most of the Baroque Works cards are mainly our ramp cards, the more we ramp, the sooner we can play our big drop Characters to the field, but also, we can also makes use of DONs as there are plenty of cards who return DONs back to deck. EB01 Ms Wednesday is a Blocker with an effect that works during your opponent's attacks. By returning 1 DON, if your Leader includes Baroque Works type, add 1 DON as active. Thanks to this effect, if we combine with Crocodile Leader, we could get 2 active DONs, and you will be gaining an extra DON.

EB01 Bon Clay is the money card out of this build, the rest is very cheap aside from ST07 Big Mom who is a starter deck card. Bon Clay have 2 effects, the first effect works on play add 1 DON as active. This is just a simple ramp effect. The second effect works when attacking, select 1 of your opponent's Characters. This Character's base power becomes the same power as the selected Character during this turn. So the more power your opponent has on the field, the better Bon Clay becomes.

OP04 Ms All Sunday only has 1 simple effect, the effect works on play, add 1 DON as rest, then if you have 6 or more DONs, draw 1 card. Not only we get to ramp with this effect, but we also got draw power, I know it is not a lot, but every extra card will help. The Trigger effect is by returning 2 DONs, you can play this card. If we combined this with Crocodile's Leader effect, she will only cost you 1 DON to play which is not bad to have a 5k beat stick whilst triggering the on play effect.

Mr 13 & Ms Friday only has an Activate Main effect, you may trash this Character and 1 Baroque Works Character to add 1 DON as active. Most of the Baroque Works Character have very low power, so you can trash those cards to make way for big drop Characters. A lot easier than replacing those Characters as you can make use of this effect. The Trigger effect is just play this card.

OP05 Zala only works on play, you may trash 1 card from your hand to add 1 DON as rest. Once we've finished using this effect, we could then use Mr 13 & Ms Friday to trash Zala so we could gain another DON. It is better than giving Zala a DON just to become a 5k beat stick unless your opponent has Characters that are 4k or less rested. Although, you could use Zala for the 2k counter if you are not bothered about the ramp effect. The Trigger effect is by returning 1 DON, play this card. Thanks to this effect, we could gain an active DON using Crocodile Leader effect.

The Life Area

Four of these cards have Life gain abilities, whilst 1 of them is more about arranging cards in the Life area, so we could hit trigger effects. Most of these cards have high cost, but shouldn't be too difficult with the help of ramp in this build. OP04 Crocodile comes with 2 effects, the first effect works on play, by returning 2 DONs, if your Leader is Baroque Works type, add the top card of your deck to top of your Life. What I like about this effect is that there are no Life requirements unlike some of the yellow cards to perform Life gain ability. The second effect works during your opponent's attacks, by returning 1 DON, draw 1 card and trash 1 card from your hand. This is just a hand filter effect, but we would gain an active DON thanks to Crocodile Leader's effect.

Kiku is a card that works on KO, if your opponent has 3 or less Life, add 1 card from top of your deck to top of your Life. Usually, we can put pressure to your opponents. However, we have a card in this build that can force your opponents to attack Kiku to trigger her on KO effect which is very nice to have. The Trigger effect is if your opponent has 3 or less Life, play this card. This shouldn't be too difficult to do.

OP06 Hiyori is in this build just to trigger our trigger effects. You might as well since we do have plenty of cards in this build who can perform Life gain so we could make use of the Life area. The effect works on play, you may add the top or bottom card to your hand to add 1 card from your hand to the top of your Life area. And if you don't want to use Hiyori's effect, there's always the 2k counter we could use to defend with.

OP08 Big Mom is a great addition to this build, I would rather use this over Yamato since Yamato only gives you Life gain when you are at low health. The effect works on play, by returning 1 DON and trashing 1 card from your hand. Add the top card of your deck to top of your Life. Then, add 1 of your opponent's 6 cost or less Characters to their top or bottom of the Life area face up. I guess the only downside is that your opponent also gain a Life, but at least we get to remove one of their Characters.

ST07 Big Mom is a very situational card, but if you can get her to play early, then the on play effect is worth it, but during the late stages of the game, her effect kinda get useless unless your opponent still have a Life card left. The effect works on play, your opponent chooses one of the following, either trash their Life or you add the top card of your deck to top of your Life. Well, I guess we get an 8k beat stick to the field for 7 DONs which is not too bad at all.

Trigger Characters

Well Mikita isn't really a Trigger Character, but she does have a trigger effect whereas Bege is mainly for the trigger effect. Mikita works on play, look at top 5 cards of your deck, reveal 1 card with type including Baroque Works and add it to your hand, then place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. The best thing about this effect is that we can search for any Baroque Works cards including Mikita herself and Bon Clay who is a Former Baroque Works which is not bad for a searcher. The Trigger effect is just by returning 1 DON, you can play this card. Technically, this effect will be free when we combined this with Crocodile Leader's effect.

OP04 Bege only has a Trigger effect which is 1 of your opponent's Leader or Characters cannot attack during this turn. Only useful if you can put Bege onto the Life area using cards like Hiyori if Bege is in your hand. However, even if we don't draw Hiyori, we still have the 2k counter we could use for defending.

Events

Now for the Events, they all have Counter effects, so we can only use these in response to your opponent's attacks. Okama Way is very nice to have in this build especially when the effect works amazingly with Kiku. The counter effect is by returning 1 DON, if your Leader includes Baroque Works type, select 1 of your Characters and change the attack target to that Character. This can act as a Blocker where we can redirect the attacks to our other Characters like Kiku for example to trigger the On KO effect and gain a Life. The trigger effect is by returning 1 DON, draw 2 cards. This is very nice to have, although I would prefer the counter effect as it can act as a protection.

Who Should Disappear is yellow 0 cost Event Counter. The counter effect is the same as any other colours. You may trash 1 card from your hand, 1 of your Leader or Characters gains 3k power this battle. What's different between these cards will be their trigger effects, and this trigger effect is if you have 0 Life, you may add the top card of your deck to top of your Life. Then, trash 1 card from your hand. You will need to be very lucky to get this as your last Life card unless you use Hiyori's effect to replace the last card with this card.

Blast Breath is really strong for this kind of build especially when we can make use of returning DONs back to deck and then add a DON to active again. The effect is by returning 1 DON, 1 of your Leader or Characters gain 4k power during this battle. This is actually not bad as we don't have any restrictions for the 4k power bonus. I guess we could say we lose a DON, but not like that really matters when we can trigger Crocodile's Leader effect.
