OP15 Purple/Black (Luffy) Deck Profile

OP09 Luffy got a little bit of upgrade thanks to OP15, but I couldn't cramp them all as you will still need the purple Straw Hats as the main engine. I guess it does means we have more black cards for this build instead of just running mainly purple cards. Of course, OP09 Luffy isn't as strong as the other Leader as OP15 did not have a card that could turn this deck around.



OP15 Luffy





How it Works?

We are still making use of the Leader's effect by returning at least 2 DONs so we can get the ramp and not lose out much on the DONs. Of course, Maria will still be needed as sometimes you will be returning too much DONs in a turn, which would make you struggle without Maria.

Then, we have the Rush Characters like EB02 Luffy and OP09 Sanji to make this deck a bit more aggressive. I am also running OP15 Nami who can revive our SH cards from the trash, since some of them will be discarded for the cost, or get KO'd by your opponent's Characters. But not only that, she can give that Character Rush which could be really useful if we needed additional attacks.


Ramp


These are the cards you need for the ramp, if you can get them in your hand especially Robin or Zoro, you wouldn't have much of a problem doing the ramp, combined with the Leader's effect. ST29 Robin is only a 4k beat stick, but the good part is if we don't need the ramp, the 2k counter will be very useful. The effect works on play, by returning 2 DONs, add 1 DON as active. Combined with the Leader's effect, you will be gaining 1 extra DON.

OP09 Zoro works similar to Robin, but this card is a 5k beat stick we can use to swing at your opponents. The effect works on play, by returning 1 or more DONs on your field, add 1 DON as active. You basically want to return 2 DONs so we can trigger the Leader's effect to get the 1 extra DON just like Robin.

OP08 Maria is mainly when your opponent has DONs, but you barely have any DONs left. That's when Maria will become useful, otherwise, we would use this card for the 2k counter. The effect is an activate main effect and the effect only works if you have no other Maria Characters in play. You can add up to 5 DONs as rest. Then, at the end of your turn, return DONs to the DON deck until you have the same number of DON as your opponents.

Draw


Draw is very useful, but I couldn't really cramp Nami in this build unless you want to replace OP15 version. OP09 Franky is another card where we can trigger the Leader's effect, plus being a Blocker, so we can easily stop your opponent's attacks. The effect works on play, by returning 2 DONs, you may trash 1 card from your hand to draw 2 cards.

Giant works similar to Franky, but of course, we won't be able to use our Leader's effect with this card. The counter effect is by returning 2 DONs from your field, you may trash 1 card from your hand, if your Leader is SH type, your Leader or 1 of your Character cards gains 4k power for this battle. Then, draw 2 cards. If you have 10 DONs, returning the 2 DONs isn't bad as you won't lose anything, but if you've got less than 10 DONs, then, you will need ramp.

Rush


Not a lot of Rush Characters in this build, but these cards will be enough to do some early attacks if needed. EB02 Luffy does have a condition to trigger the Rush, but it's not difficult to do. Luffy has 2 effects, the first effect with require you to have a multicoloured Leader and your opponent needing 5 DONs to work to gain Rush. The second effect works when attacking, you may return 2 of your active DONs to your DON deck to untap this Character. Then, add the top Life card to your hand. The good part about the second effect is that we can attack twice with just this Character. The downside will be our Life area will be at risk.

OP09 Sanji is more stable than EB02 Luffy, but Sanji cost 7 to play compare to Luffy 6 which can make a huge difference. The effect works on play, you may return 1 or more DONs on your field. This Character gains Rush and rest 1 of your opponent's 6 cost or less Characters. Not only we've got Rush, but we can rest your opponent's Characters so we can swing into those cards.

OP15 Nami is optional, the effect can be useful, but I don't recommend running a lot of copies in the build. The effect works on play, if your Leader is SH type, play one 7 cost or less SH Character from your trash. Then, that Character played with this effect gains Rush. The only high cost is Nami in this build, so you can play your other SH Characters with ease, just not EB02 Luffy or OP09 Sanji as they already have Rush. Although, you don't have to focus on Rush as you can also choose Blockers in your trash to strengthen your defence and stall for time.

Searchers


The 2 main searchers you want to see as these cards will be able to search for the SH to pop off the deck. OP09 Law is mainly the searcher of the deck. The effect works on play, look at top 4 cards of your deck, reveal one 2 cost or more SH or Heart Pirates card and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order.

PRB02 Nami is mainly played when we have 2 DONs to use. The effect works on play, look at top 5 cards of your deck, reveal 1 SH type card except Nami and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. So you won't be able to add OP15 version to hand, but that doesn't really matter. The trigger effect is play this card.

Straw Hat Supports


The rest of the SH supports are simple. I think OP15 Zoro is a must as this card protects our SH cards. You can replace OP15 Nami, but not Zoro as this card is more useful than Nami. Zoro is a Blocker with an effect that works if your SH Character except this card would be removed from your field by your opponent's effects, you may trash this Character instead. This way, you won't need to worry about the removals.

ST18 Usohachi is mainly for the 2k counter as I barely use the effect unless you really need to get rid of your opponent's Characters. The effect works on play, if you have 8 or more DONs on your field, rest 1 of your opponent's 5 cost or less Characters.

ST26 Luffy can provide both attack and defence option, but mainly for the defence as we don't need to use as much counters, and can focus on the Blockers we could use. The effect works on play or when attacking, by returning 2 DONs, if your Leader is multicoloured and your opponent has 5 or more DONs on their field. Your SH Leader will have a base power of 7k until the end of your opponent's turn. The downside is that the 2nd copy would be useless as we only need 1 on the field to work.

OP12 Robin will be good against decks who can get large hand size as we need to stop your opponents from gaining the advantages. Robin has 2 effects, the first effect works, if your Leader is Koala or Luffy, this Character gains Blocker and +3 cost. Combining this with the Leader's effect we can have a 10 drop Robin on the field. he second effect works on play, you may trash 1 card from your hand, if your opponent has 5 or more cards from their hand, your opponent trash 2 cards from their hand.
