I was wondering if I should name this OP14 or EB04 considering the EB04 stuff is in OP14 set, but there's not a single support for Kaido in OP14, so naming this EB04 would make sense. Anyway, I really like the new EB04 support for Kaido, you could easily pull of the Leader's effect and then, recover those lost 7 DONs pretty quickly.
EB04 Kaido |

Leader Character (38) Event (8) Stage (4) |
How it Works?
The deck has plenty of ramp to make the deck pops off, but we are still missing our 1 drop searcher except the Event, so we still have to rely on the opening hand to get Onigashima to the hand, as that stage card is 1 of our key card to keep the deck constantly ramping. The more you can ramp, the sooner you can play the big drop Characters to the field, not to mention, you can also use Kaido Leader's effect, so we can constantly use the ramp effects to bring the DONs back.
Ramp
The more we can ramp, the sooner we can play big drop Characters to the field, except Maria who works when we return DONs. EB04 Queen is a nice 1 drop, not a searcher, but the effect will be useful, especially if you draw duplicates. Queen has 2 effects, the first effect works on play, you may trash 1 AK Pirates card from your hand to draw 2 cards. This is really useful, especially when you draw multiple copies of Onigashima and there's already one on the field. The second effect is an activate main effect where you need to rest 2 DONs, if your Leader is AK Pirates, add 1 DON as rest. If you don't have anything to play with the 2 DONs, we can just use Queen's effect to ramp.
OP08 Maria works best when we start returning DONs like Kaido Leader's effect, so we don't lose too much DONs for the next turn. Maria's effect is an activate main effect and the effect only works if you have no other Maria Characters in play. You can add up to 5 DONs as rest. Then, at the end of your turn, return DONs to the DON deck until you have the same number of DON as your opponents. The more DONs your opponent has, the more DONs you can recover,m and don't worry if you have another copy of Maria in hand as she has the 2k counter we could use.
EB01 Bon Clay is still needed just in case we don't draw the other main ramp cards of the deck. I don't think I would take him out of the deck unless you can constantly draw the other ramp cards to get the ramp going. Bon Clay have 2 effects, the first effect works on play add 1 DON as active. The second effect works when attacking, select 1 of your opponent's Characters. This Character's base power becomes the same power as the selected Character during this turn, making Bon Clay an extra beat stick if we need more attacks.
EB04 King is another card like Maria where we only need 1 copy on the field, but unlike Maria, King doesn't have a counter, so if you have another copy, you may want to use the copy as a discard fodder. King has 2 effects, the first effect is if this Character would be KO'd, you may return 1 DON instead. This effect is not once per turn and we don't have to worry about King being an attack target unless your opponents want to reduce the amount of DONs you can use. The second effect is an activate main effect, if your Leader is AK Pirates and you have no other King Characters, add 1 DON as active and add 1 DON as rest. Pretty much King gives you 2 DONs per turn which is a lot of ramp combined with our other effects.
Onigashima is a Stage card, but like I mention, if you can see this card in your opening hand, it makes ramping a lot easier as we can ramp once per turn without the need to play Characters. The effect is you may rest this Stage, if your Leader is AK Pirates, add 1 DON as rest.
Removals
For the removal, I have brought back ST10 Law as decks can get a huge hand size these days, and Law can reduce those hand. Not as efficient as Pudding who can replace the hand, but can get the job done. Law is also a Blocker so we can stop your opponent's attacks. The effect works on play, by returning 1 DON, if your opponent has 7 or more cards in hand, trash 2 cards. That 1 DON doesn't matter too much if you have the ramp.
ST04 Kaido is one of our main beat stick as this is a 10k beat stick for 9. The effect works on play, by return 5 DONs, KO 1 of your opponent's 6 cost or less Characters, then this Character gains Rush. Not only we can KO Characters, but we also have Rush, so you mainly want to KO an active Character with this effect and swing at rested Characters to try and remove 2 Characters in one go.
OP01 Kaido is a board wipe, and depending on the situation, you could play this or you may never play this, but it is in the deck just in case we need board wipe option. The effect works on play, by returning 6 DONs, if your Leader is AK Pirates type, KO all Characters except this card. The reason why this card depends on the situation as we also KO our own Characters. On the bright side, EB04 King has protection from KO, so this would cost 7 DONs altogether to keep 2 Characters on the field whilst board wiping the rest of the Characters.
Ragnarok is mainly to answer high cost Characters as ST04 Kaido only targets 6 cost or less Character, and we don't want to play OP01 Kaido just to remove a high cost Character on the field. The effect is by returning 1 DON, KO 1 of your opponent's 8 cost or less Characters. 8 cost or less is pretty high, but I know some main Characters cost 9 cost or more. The trigger effect is add 1 DON as active. The trigger effect is only useful if you need the ramp, otherwise, we are mainly aiming for the main effect.
Rest
There's not much resting involving, well you would mainly play 1 of these cards whilst the other is mainly for the 2k counter, unless you really want to get rid of a Character. ST18 Usohachi is a nice 2k counter we could use, but the effect will need at least 8 DONs to work. The effect works on play, if you have 8 or more DONs on your field, rest 1 of your opponent's 5 cost or less Characters. This shouldn't be too difficult to pull off as we've got plenty of ramp.
But the main card we should play is EB04 Kaido. EB04 Kaido is another card like King where OP01 Kaido's board wipe won't affect use much, but you will be returning a lot of DONs to have all 3 on the field. Kaido has 2 effects, the first effect is exactly like King where if this Character would be KO'd, you may return 1 DON instead. The main effect works on play, by returning 2 DONs, if your Leader is AK Pirates, this Character gains Rush. Then, rest 1 of your opponent's 7 cost or less Characters. We also have Rush making us get to swing the rested Character straight away if needed.
Blockers
Some more Blockers so we can stop your opponent's attacks easily. ST04 Queen is another draw power card like the EB04 version, but at least we have a 6k Blocker. The effect works on play, by returning 1 DON, draw 2 cards and trash 1 card from your hand. At least, we can draw first before discarding which could be helpful if you draw some cards you won't be needing.
OP07 Sanji works very well in this build as we've got plenty of returning DONs effect, easily triggering Sanji requirement. We also have 2k counter on this card if you can't use the effect. The effect is, if the number of DONs is at least 2 less than your opponent's field, reduce this cost by 3, basically costing only 3 to play which is not bad.
Events
The 2 Events I am running for this build. OP13 Divine Departure is a nice 0 cost Event we can use for this build as this card gives you 2 different options depending on what you need. The main effect is you may rest 5 DONs, if you have any attached DONs, reduce 1 of your opponent's Characters by 8k for this turn. This is to give you a chance to take out high power Characters. The counter effect is the same as any 0 cost where we discard a card, your Leader or 1 of your Characters gains 3k power for the battle.
Claiming One Piece is our turn 1 search since we don't have a proper AK Pirates searcher for purple base. Not like it matters when half of the cards would be out of rotation. Anyway, the effect is if your Leader has AK Pirates or BM Pirates type, look at the top 5 cards of your deck, reveal 1 AK Pirates or BM Pirates card and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. I am not running any BM Pirates in this deck, but you could if you want cards like OP11 Katakuri or OP08 Big Mom. The trigger effect is activate this card's main.
