OP13 Green/Blue (Rosinante) Deck Profile

Corazon is back with the OP13 supports. Although, there are supports in OP12 that could work for this build. I have been thinking how to build this deck as there are like 2 main routes. 1 focus on low cost Characters with a bit of high cost in the build, or the other build focus on untapping but restricting you to play high cost Characters. Anyway, I decided to go with 2 builds because of these 2 ideas I have put together.

Corazon Draw

Corazon Untapping

Corazon Draw

Corazon Untapping

How it Works?

2 very different decks as both decks will have different style. However, the base of the deck will be the same as each other because we want to run low cost Characters in order to use up the hand size easily to trigger the Leader's effect and would be able to activate Blockers during your opponent's turn. However, we still need to run some high cost Characters in this build as they are major beat sticks in order to break through your opponent's defences.

As the name suggest, Corazon Draw will focus on draw power, but I wouldn't worry too much as most of the cards can be used for counter or play to the field, so you can easily burn up your hand if needed, whilst Corazon Untapping focus more on higher cost Characters like 4 drops thanks to the cards who can untap DONs. The more DONs we can untap, the more beat stick we can put onto the field.

Draw

For me, draw power is great. The more we draw, the more cards we can put into the field as well as using counters to stop your opponent's attacks. So these cards won't really hinder Corazon's Leader effect if you've played the cards right. OP13 Otama works best when we have 3 or less Life cards, and for our Corazon Leader who can become Blockers, this is not difficult to do.

PRB02 Mr 3 has a very specific requirement in order to get the draw power and you won't always trigger this effect unless you are playing against certain cards. This effect can only be activated when this Character is rested by your opponent's effects. You may trash this card to draw 2 cards. Not every decks will have a rest effect and even if they do, they could not choose Mr 3 so you can't get the draw. But on the bright side we do have a Blocker, so we can stop your opponent's attacks.

OP10 Cavendish is 1 of the key cards in this build as this card is paired with ST21 Mihawk in order to reduce our hand size whilst spamming the field. The effect works when attacking, draw 2 cards and trash 1 card from your hand. This effect is like Otama where you are only +1 in hand so you won't go over the 6 cards hand limit if you want to use your Leader's Blocker ability.

On the other hand, I don't know if I should run OP13 Yamato or not, we do have a 6k beat stick. The effect works on play, if you have 3 or less Life cards, draw 2 cards. Then, attach 1 rested DON to your Leader. This effect will work the best if you have low hand size so we can trigger our Leader's effect, but seeing this card in the early turns may not be too good unless you don't care about triggering the Leader's effect for that turn.

Free Play

As you know, the best way to reduce our hand size will be playing cards from our hand for free, so we don't need to use a lot of counters, or replacing cards. ST12 Mihawk only works best with Cavendish as Cavendish is the only Slash Character that fits for Mihawk. The effect works on play, if you have 2 or less Characters, play one 4 cost or less Muggy Kingdom or Slash Character except Mihawk from your hand rested. As you know, the Characters comes in rest, so we don't want to play Koushiro with Mihawk, or we wouldn't be able to use the Blocker ability.

OP01 Kid can play low cost Characters and both decks do have nice amount of low cost Characters we can play for free, so we don't need to spend DONs. The first effect will require you to attach a DON to work and the effect works during your opponent's turn. If this Character is rested, your opponent cannot attack any other cards except Kid Character. The second effect is you may rest this Character to play one 3 cost or less Characters from your hand. Thanks to this effect, we can trigger Kid's first effect to bypass the summon sickness, but this will cost 9 DONs altogether. You can still use Kid's effect after the summon sickness but you will be losing an attack.

Removals

There's not a lot of removals and only 1 of the build will get to access all 3 of these cards. OP06 Pudding is great against decks who can draw a lot of cards to increase their hand size, otherwise, you could have some problems if you draw Pudding at the wrong time. The effect works on play, your opponent returns all cards from their hand to their deck and shuffles their deck. Then, your opponents draw 5 cards.

ST16 Shanks is a great removal as this card can KO any Characters as long as the Character is rested, plus, we have a 11k beat stick for a 9 drop, and that is a lot of power. The effect works on play, KO 1 of your opponent's rested Characters. The only downside is that this deck really wants you to maintain 6 or less cards in hand, and if you have too many high cost Characters in hand, we can struggle.

Another card that is like Shanks but better is Red Roc. Red Roc doesn't need your opponents to have any rested Characters to work. The effect is place 1 Character to the bottom of the owner's deck which is a lot better than playing Shanks as Red Roc only cost 6 to play. The trigger effect is place one 4 cost or less Character to the bottom of the owner's deck.

Rest

Only 1 of the builds will be able to use all these cards, and there's not many rest effect because of the room. OP04 Sugar is needed because not only we are using DQ Pirates Leader to utilise the full effect of this card, but she only cost 2 to play which will be perfect for the Leader. Sugar has 2 effects, the first effect works on your opponent's turn and once per turn, when your opponent's plays a Character, if your Leader is DQ Pirates type, rest 1 of your opponent's Characters. Then, rest this Character. This will make your opponent think which Characters they will play first so they could avoid getting attacked. The second effect works on play, rest 1 of your opponent's 4 cost or less Characters.

PRB02 Luffy is a different type of resting as this card only rest your opponent's DONs, and not to mention is that this card would be useless in the late game where your opponents have 8 or more DONs. The effect works during your turn and on play, if your Leader is multicoloured and your opponent has 7 or less DONs, your opponent rest 1 of their DONs at the start of their main phase. Starting with only 1 DON could really hurt their plays especially if your opponent is planning to play something big during the early turns.

Dead's Man Game is the only Event for Corazon Untapping deck as having more resting will give you more options to attack into especially when that build is full of beat sticks. The main effect is rest 3 DONs to rest a total of 2 of your opponent's Characters or DONs, costing you 4 in total which won't hurt too much if you can untap DONs. The counter effect is your Leader gains 3k power for the battle.

Untapping

I know I named the deck Corazon Untapping even though we've only got these 3 cards who can untap. But it is thanks to 2 of these cards is why Corazon could actually run higher cost Characters rather than just low cost. OP13 Uta has 2 effects, the first effect works on play, untap 2 DONs, then, you cannot play Characters with base cost of 5 or more this turn. This wouldn't matter too much as long as we can play our 4 cost and less Characters from hand. The second effect works on KO, play one 5 cost or less Character from your hand at rest. You could play Mihawk to play Cavendish if you meet the requirements and have those cards in hand, but you could also play Carrot.

OP13 Luffy can put some pressure against your opponents so we don't have to rely on the beat sticks that cost a lot to play. The Double Attack is very useful, especially if we can get the Double Attack to hit, wiping your opponent's Life area pretty easily. We also got an on play effect which is if your Leader is multicoloured, untap 4 DONs, then, you cannot play Characters with base cost of 5 or more this turn. We do have the same restrictions as Uta, but this won't matter too much if you can play the low cost to the field.

Lastly, OP06 Zoro is mainly to go for the final push for game if our other cards couldn't finish the job. Remember, we have limit using our Leader's Blocker ability, and the longer the game goes on, the worser we could get. Zoro has 2 effects, the first effect works when attacking, by paying 1 DON, untap this Character. The second effect is an activate main, by paying 2 DONs, untap this Character. You only need 3 DONs to trigger this effect in order to swing for 3 attacks in one turn, so you could go all in on Zoro with the DON power if needed.

Prevention

I've pretty much went all out with the 4 cards who can protect your Characters whilst Carrot can stop your opponent's attacks, so we could slow your opponents down and don't need to rely on Blockers. OP05 Corazon is a Blocker that has an effect that works during your opponent's turn, if your rested Characters is KO'd, you may trash this Character instead. There are 2 ways to protect your Characters with Corazon, either Blocker or using the effect, but you really want to save the effect against KO effects as we can already stop your opponent's attacks with Blockers.

OP12 Koushirou is another 2 drop Blocker but the effect only protects Slash Characters unlike Corazon who can protect your field. The effect is if your 5 cost or less Slash Character would be KO'd by effects, you may rest this Character instead. You mainly want to protect Cavendish with this effect, otherwise, this would just be a plain Blocker.

As both Corazon and Koushirou can protect against KO'd effects, OP10 Tashigi can protect against non KO'd effects. The effect is if you have a green Character except Tashigi would be removed by your opponent's effects, you may rest this card instead. Most of our main cards are green Characters which is why I am running Tashigi in the build to protect those cards.

I am also running Sabo, however, Sabo can only protect certain costs compare to Tashigi who can protect green Characters, but we also got 2k counter on this card if needed. The effect is if your base cost 7 or less Characters except Sabo would be removed from your field by your opponent's effects, you may return this Character to the owner's hand instead. As you know, we can bounce Sabo back to hand and use the 2k counter if needed.

Lastly, the final card isn't about protection, but stopping your opponents from using all 5 Characters to attack with. The more Characters we can stop, the less counters we will need to use. OP08 Carrot is the best card for the job to slow your opponents down. The effect works on play or when attacking, 1 of your opponent's rested 7 cost or less Characters cannot become active during your opponent's next Refresh Phase. We do have some rest to make use of the effect especially when Sugar is on the field.
