OP13 Green (Uta) Deck Profile

Its been a while since Green Uta got some new cards for the deck, and there will be more support from EB03 set and OP14. Specifically from EB03 set as the OP13 cards would work well together with that set, so I'm pretty much looking forward to update the deck again when the time comes. Right now, we will stick with the cards we've got for this build.

OP13 Uta

How it Works?

There are a lot of cards we want to run in this build, but the room is very tight to fit those cards in the build. On the bright side, the deck have plenty of untap DONs to power up our cards, or play more cards from our hand. We mainly want to use Uta's Leader effect to add FILM cards to our hand as well as increasing our hand size for more defence. There are only 3 non FILM cards where the Leader's effect will miss, why is also why I've also added Nami in the build for extra searching if needed. 1 will be enough as adding more could ruin the build, especially when the card doesn't have counter.

Speaking of counters, there are a lot of cards in this build that does have counter, so you do want to play these cards to the field if you can. But the deck style is still the same where Brook and 7 drop Luffy will be needed as they can spam Characters from your hand to the field, giving you more DONs to work with, either to power up the attacks or use more cards.

Music

At the moment, these are the same as the old build, but would change when EB03 comes out. All of these cards with need Uta Leader to work. New Genesis is our 1 drop searcher for FILM Characters. The effect is look at top 3 cards of your deck, reveal 1 FILM card except New Genesis and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order and set 1 DON as active. Technically, you will be playing this card for free as we get to untap DONs.

Backlight is not bad for a 2 drop, although, mainly work during mid to late game where we have choices to choose from and not during the early games. Backlight gives you two options for the effect, you either rest 1 of your opponent's 5 cost or less Characters or KO 1 of your opponent's 5 cost or less rested Characters.

I'm invincible helps to give your Leader more attacks, especially since we can untap DONs giving you the room to play this card. The main effect is set 1 of your Uta Leader to active. It's quite simple, the more DONs we could give to Uta, the deadlier this Event becomes, especially when your opponent is at low health. The trigger effect is your Leader or 1 of your Characters gains 1k power for the turn.

Free Play

The 2 main cards I personally want to keep as these cards let us play FILM Characters from our hand. OP02 Brook works on play, play one 3 cost or less FILM or SH Character from your hand. There should be plenty of choices to choose from as I am running quite a few low cost FILM Characters so we can pull off Brook's effect.

OP02 Luffy will cost 7 to play, but in return, this card is a 7k Blocker which is nice to stop your opponent's attacks. The effect works on play, play one 4 cost or less FILM or Straw Hat Character from your hand. You could basically use Luffy to target Brook, then, Brook will play an additional Character, so in 1 turn, you would be able to get 3 Characters just for paying 7 DONs.

Power

Most of our power cards are from the ST16 deck, and they can be also be played for free using OP02 Brook's effect. ST16 Luffy is mainly for the 2k counter rather than playing this card to the field. The effect is very simple, if you have a rested Uta, this Character gains 1k power. The 1k power bonus is also permanent, but it wouldn't make a huge difference as this would only makes Luffy a 4k beat stick on the field which is still an easy target to hit.

ST16 Gordon is mainly to discard the music cards that ended up in our hand, especially if we draw too many of them, as those music cards only works during our main phase. Gordon is a Blocker with an effect that works during your opponent's attack, you may trash any Music card from your hand, your Leader or 1 of your Characters gains 1k power for every card trashed for that battle. This is also not once per turn, so you could literally use this effect constantly as long as you get Music cards in your hand.

ST16 Katakuri is the main card we do want on the field, especially during the mid to late game where we can make use of the effect. The effect is if your Leader is FILM type and you have 6 or more rested cards, this Character gains 2k power. Just like ST16 Luffy, the power bonus is continuous and the 6k beat stick will make a nice difference on the field compare to 4k.

EB01 Sanji is also mainly for the 2k counter, but unlike ST16 Luffy, you can actually play this card to the field if you need a beat stick. You will need to attach a DON for the effect to work, this Character gains 1k for every 3 rested DON. The maximum we can do is 9 rested DONs, making Sanji an 8k beat stick in total, but in reality, this might be harder to pull off, at most, we can do 7k beat stick.

Untapping

The 2 cards who can mainly untap DONs, and they will be very useful, allowing us to play more cards from our hand. OP13 Zoro is a great additional to the build with the 2 effects he have. The first effect works on play, if your Leader is FILM or SH type, untap 2 DONs. This will give you room to use Uta's Leader effect especially if you only have 4 DONs. The second effect works at the end of your turn, untap this Character. Thanks to this effect, we can prevent our opponents from attacking into this Character.

OP13 Sanji is optional simply because we can't play this card using OP02 Luffy's effect unlike Zoro, plus, we also don't have a counter on this card. However, we would have a 7k beat stick to swing with instead. Just like Zoro, Sanji also have 2 effects, the first effect works on play, untap 2 DONs. This could be useful for triggering Uta's Leader effect if you only have 5 DONs to play with. The second effect works at the end of your turn, if your Leader is FILM or SH type, untap 1 DON. Currently, this effect won't do much until we've add EB03 cards to the build.

Rest

For our rest effects, we would have to rely on these 2 only non FILM cards for the build. OP06 Hody can be very handy for this build as we want to be as aggressive as possible, and if we have spare DONs, we could play Hody for 7. Hody has Rush with an on play effect which is rest up to a total of 2 of your opponent's Characters or DONs. Then, add the top card from your Life area to your hand. We do want rest as we barely have any removals in this deck to stop your opponent's Characters, so we can rest those Characters and attack into those cards if needed, or stop Blockers from activating.

Dead's Man Game is the only Event in the deck which can be used during your opponent's turn, and would work with OP13 Sanji's effect. However, we also got a main effect if needed which is rest 3 DONs to rest up to a total of 2 of your opponent's Characters or DONs. This is a cheaper version of Hody as this would only cost 4 to activate. The counter effect is your Leader gains 3k power for the battle.

FILM Supports

The FILM supports are pretty straightforward. I am running OP02 Nami for more searching as it's always nice to have more search than just relying on Uta's Leader effect. The effect works on play or when attacking, by paying 1 DON, look at the top 3 cards of your deck, reveal 1 FILM card except Nami and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. Unfortunately, we do have to pay a DON which is the downside.

ST16 Uta is a nice 6k Blocker to have on the field with an activate main effect. The effect is you may trash 1 FILM card from your hand to attach 1 rested DON to 1 of your Leader or Characters. Thanks to this effect, we won't need to worry about untap DONs to give it to the Leader to trigger the effect.

ST16 Shanks is the only card in this build who can KO Characters, well, we also have Backlight but Backlight is not as good as Shanks. Plus, this is an 11k beat stick for 9 which is really useful in reducing your opponent's hand size. The effect works on play, KO 1 of your opponent's rested Characters. The timing of Shanks will be up to you, but you don't want to play this card too late as not having a major beat stick on the field could punish you instead of your opponents.
