OP13 Blue (Ace & Newgate) Deck Profile

OP13 is a set that would suit Ace & Newgate build as there are plenty of cards we could use, which is why I hold off posting this Leader using PRB02 stuff. There are plenty of ways to build this, as you could keep this build using the old cards and don't need OP13 set to help. But I do like some of the OP13 cards which is why I've added to this build.

OP13 Ace & Newgate

How it Works?

We will be mainly drawing and revealing WB cards to trigger certain card's effects. I am also using the same strategy as OP13 Ace build where we play our 8 cost Event to play the 10 drop Whitebeard to the field whilst powering up your Leader, so we could stop your opponent's attacks easily. Plus the new OP13 WB and Otama can also draw cards increasing your hand size along with PRB02 Marco.

Although, most of the time you won't need to use Ace & Whitebeard effect unless you need to play certain cards, however, this Leader will help you draw cards if your hand is bad. So I would still use the effect since there's no cost to the effect. You mainly need to focus on drawing cards, so you can use most of the WB cards that focus on the hand mainly.

Draw

The more draw power you have, the more cards you can get in hand especially when you need to reveal 2 WB cards from your hand. OP13 Otama will requires low health to work, but for this build, this is not difficult to pull off. The effect works on play, if you have 3 or less Life cards, draw 2 cards and trash 1 card from your hand.

PRB02 Marco is a 6k Blocker and we can also play him for free using OP08 Ace's effect if you need Characters on the field. The effect works on KO, draw 2 cards, which makes this card one of the best draw power as it is very easy to trigger the effect.

OP13 Whitebeard can be used as an attacker if you have too many Blockers on the field, but being a 12k Blocker can stop pretty much a lot of attacks without the Character getting KO'd. The effect works on play, draw 2 cards and trash 1 card from your hand. Then, attach up to 2 rested DON to your Leader and 1 of your Characters each. This can help us power up the attacks and not only just focusing on draw power.

Returning

Returning is equally important as they acts like a removal so we don't have to swing into your opponent's Characters. OP08 Atmos is one of the cards where we need some cards in hand to trigger the effect. The effect works on play, you may reveal up to 2 including WB Pirates type from your hand. If your Leader includes WB Pirates type, return 1 of your opponent's 4 cost or less Characters to the owner's hand.

OP06 Pudding will be good against heavy draw builds like Ace deck, but as Pudding is only effective on certain types of deck is why I am only running 1 in the build. The effect works on play, your opponent returns all cards in their hand to their deck and shuffles their deck. Then, your opponent draws 5 cards.

OP08 Jozu is still the best kind of removal to have for Blue decks. Not only we can bounce your opponent's Characters, we can also bounce our own cards to trigger their on play effects again. The effect works on play, you may return 1 of your other Character to the owner's hand to return one 6 cost or less Character to the owner's hand.

Red Roc is still very useful as this is the only removal to answer high cost Characters on the field. The effect let us remove any Characters we want to the bottom of the owner's deck, so we don't need to worry about major beat stick on the field. The trigger effect is place one 4 cost or less Character to the bottom of the owner's deck.

Power

Draw and removal is not the only thing this deck has, as we have some power cards who can make our attacks stronger. ST22 Bay is mainly for the 2k counter, but you could use the effect if needed. The effect works on play and during your turn, you may reveal 2 cards including WB type from your hand, your Leader with type including WB Pirates gains 2k power for the turn. This would make our Leader a nice beat stick to swing with without the need of DONs.

OP08 Kingdew is another card like Bay where we mainly running this for the 2k counter, however Kingdew will cost you 4 DONs to play instead of 1 unless you are using OP08 Ace's effect. The effect is an activate main, you may reveal 2 cards including WB Pirates type from your hand, this Character gains 2k power for the turn, making Kingdew a nice 6k beat stick to swing with.

A better option to play instead of Kingdew is ST22 Marco. Marco doesn't have a 2k counter, so this won't be too important if you keep this card in hand and has 2 effects. The first effect is if this Character would be KO'd by your opponent's effects, you may trash 1 card instead. Unfortunately, this is only against effects and not effective against battle. The second effect works when attacking, reveal the top card of your deck, if that card's type includes WB Pirates, this Character gains 1k power until the end of your opponent's turn. You will need to use your Leader's effect to put a WB Pirates card on top, but in return, we will have a 6k beat stick on the field.

I am Whitebeard is an important Event as this is the card where we can play our 10 drop Whitebeard for 8 instead of paying the full 10. The effect is if your Leader includes WB Pirates type, play 1 Whitebeard from your hand. Then, you may add 1 card from the top or bottom of your Life cards to your hand, if you do, 1 of your Leader gains 2k power until the end of your opponent's next turn. We do lose Life cards, but if we get to 3 or less, we can trigger Otama's draw power easily than waiting for your opponents to attack your Leader.

Searchers

Searchers are important as we need the right cards to get this deck to work, especially pulling off the Whitebeard combo with the 8 drop Event. ST22 Izo has 2 effects, the first effect works on play, look at the top 5 cards of your deck, reveal 1 including WB Pirates type card except Izo and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. The second effect works during your opponent's attack, you may draw 1 card and place 1 card from your hand to the bottom of the deck allowing you to get more counters in your hand if you open up with non counters.

Thank you for Loving Me is more of a backup searcher if you don't see Izo. The effect is if your Leader includes WB Pirates type, look at top 3 cards of your deck, reveal 1 card including WB Pirates type or Luffy and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the top or bottom of your deck in any order., It won't matter too much if you want 2 of the cards from the search as we can place those cards at the top of the deck, then, use our Leader's effect to draw that card. The trigger effect is just draw 1 card.

Whitebeard Pirates Supports

The rest of the WB Pirates supports are very simple, OP08 Ace is one of the key cards for the deck to fill up the field during the early turns. The effect works on play, reveal 1 card from top of your deck and play one 4 cost or less including WB Pirates Character. Then, place the rest at the top or bottom of your deck. With our Leader, it will be very easy to trigger Ace's effect and get another Character to the field.

OP08 Whitebeard only works when we have low health which works perfectly with our 8 drop Event as that card take Life cards away. The effect works on play, if your Leader includes WB Pirates type and you have 2 or less Life cards, select all of your opponent's Characters on their field. None of the selected Characters can attack unless your opponent trashes 2 cards from their hand until the end of your opponent's turn. This works best when your opponent has a full field which is why I am only running 2 in the build.

Lastly, Take back what you said is a 1 drop Event you could use, but you will need to rely on the Leader's effect to maximise this Event. The counter effect is reveal 1 card from top of your deck, if that card includes WB Pirates type, your Leader or 1 of your Characters gains 4k power for the battle. 4k power is nice to have especially only costing 1 DON and no Life requirements. The trigger effect is draw 1 card.
