We've got a producer letter about Digimon for the rest of this year. Most of the stuff mentioned in this letter have already been revealed, so I skipped those part and focus on the parts that haven't. It has been 5 years since Digimon Card Game was released, and the letter says, the game is in rookie stage. Meaning plenty of time to grow, and I don't know how long that will take if the game is already out for 5 years.
During those 5 years, the game has transformed pretty quick, it went from slow pace game to very fast pace, like, if your opponents gives you memory, you can easily win in 10-15 mins per game. The downside is that if you play a slow deck, you will have difficulties to outpace the aggro. Of course, having a board wipe card will make a huge difference, seeing all those Digimon being deleted, making them start again from 0. This is all my personal opinion about the game when I played on the sim, maybe it is different for other people.
But main key point is currently, there will be no plans for Block system to introduce for Digimon, so any old decks will be save from rotation. Not like the old decks are topping in the meta like One Piece. Considering, Digimon has been a game that would rotate any old meta out, and will need to build a new deck for the brand new meta, depending on the sets, whereas One Piece, we still have Black/Yellow Luffy, and Purple Luffy topping in the meta still, and once you have the cards, you barely need a brand new deck for the meta. But it does mean Digimon will get a long list of ban list. The more cards they made, the more older cards will get hit by the ban list since they will very strong together.
