OP17 Red/Green (Luffy) Deck Profile

Only a 1 card update to the deck for OP13 Luffy, so the rest of the build will mainly be the same as my previous build, and it is also a cheap card to get, so easy on the wallet. The main aim of the deck is still the same where we need to untap DONs so we can use our Leader's effect during your opponent's turn, so most of the stuff I will be copying and pasting the stuff I wrote from the previous build.

OP17 Luffy

How it Works?

One thing you won't need to worry about will be searchers. This deck has access to plenty of searchers, so you will be able to search the cards you need more easily. You want to look for untap DON cards especially Usopp, so you could use your Leader's effect. I am also running EB04 Zoro who can also power up your Leader, so that is another important card to add to hand in case you have all the untap cards.

Untapping

Lots of untapping with this deck because we want to use our Leader's effect, although, only Brook who will untap Characters instead of DONs. OP14 Usopp is great card to have on the field because of the effect, but you don't want to collide the effect with OP14 Nami, or we will struggle to use the Leader's effect. The effect works at the end of your turn which is if your Leader is SH or Film type, untap up to 2 DONs. If you have 2 Usopp on the field, then, you could untap 4 DONs at the end of each turn, triggering the Leader's effect.

OP14 Nami works best if you have at least 5 rested DONs, so we could untap those 5 DONs for our Leader's effect. The effect works on play, rest 2 of your opponent's 8 cost or less Characters. Then, untap up to 5 DONs at the end of your turn.

OP13 Zoro only helps a little but not really a key card in this build compare to the other cards. Zoro has 2 effects, the first effect works on play, if your Leader is FILM or SH type, untap 2 DONs. The second effect works at the end of your turn, untap this Character. The second effect will allow us to have a Character on the field, and can let us focus the Leader's effect on other cards.

OP13 Sanji is another card that can work very well with Usopp, so you don't have to play 2 Usopp if you can't, you can play 1 Sanji and 1 Usopp on the field. Just like Zoro, OP13 Sanji also has 2 effects, the first effect works on play, untap up to 2 of your DONs which is just the same as Zoro. The second effect works at the end of your turn, if your Leader is FILM or SH type, untap 1 DON. You will be only untapping 3 DONs at the end of your turn, but Sanji is a 7k beat stick which is easier to protect compare to Usopp.

OP13 Luffy has Double Attack which can easily take out your opponent's Life area in one go if the timing is right. The effect works on play, untap up to 4 DONs, then, you cannot play Characters with base cost of 5 or more this turn. 5 cost or more doesn't really matter as we can still play 4 cost or less Characters if needed.

OP15 Brook can only untap Characters, but that is good as we could untap Luffy to go for double Double Attack trying to take out your opponent's Life area, or they will need Blockers or counters to stop the attack. Brook has 2 effects, the first effect works on play, rest 1 of your opponent's cards. The second effect is an activate main, you may trash this Character, if your Leader is SH type, untap 1 of your 8 cost base or less Characters. Our maximum cost in this build is 7, so you can target any Characters.

Charlestones is not a SH card, so you will need to draw this card. The counter effect is your Leader or 1 of your Character gains 4k power for the battle. Then, you may discard 1 card to untap up to of your 3 DONs. So if you only have 2 untap DONs to use, you can play this card to get 3 more DONs for your Leader's effect. The trigger effect is rest your opponent's Leader or 1 of their 3 cost or less Characters.

Prevention

I've only added OP17 Nami as the only new card from OP17 set. However, Nami won't be able to search out with the Nami searchers, and would need to rely on the other searchers if you want to play Nami to the field. The effect is if 1 of your EB or SH Characters would be KO'd, you may rest this Character instead.

I'll Go All Out is to reduce the number of attacks your opponents can do to provide more defensive options and save your Leader's effect on other Characters. The main effect is you may rest 2 DONs, up to 2 of your opponent's rested 7 cost Characters or less cannot become active during your opponent's next Refresh Phase. The counter effect is your Leader gains 3k power for the battle.

Searchers

Searchers will be the 1 thing you won't need to worry and you can even add Garp to the build, but Garp won't be really useful due to low cost in the build. Both EB02 and OP01 Nami has the exact same effect which works on play, look at the top 5 cards of your deck, reveal 1 SH card except Nami and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order.

EB04 Bonney is another searcher who can search for SH cards, and Bonney will be able to search for Nami Characters since I am running plenty of Nami and the 2 Nami searchers have restrictions. The effect works on play, look at top 4 cards of your deck, reveal 1 Egghead or SH card except Bonney and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order.

ST31 Sunny is another card that will be able to search for Nami Characters, so you won't need to worry about the name restrictions if you want to get Nami to hand. Sunny has 2 effects, the first effect works on play, look at the top 5 cards of your deck, reveal up to 1 SH card and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. The second effect is an activate main, you may rest this Stage, attach 1 rested DON to 1 of your Luffy cards. This will let you make your Leader active, without the need of needing active DONs.

Straw Hat Supports

The rest of the SH supports will be these 2 cards. EB04 Zoro works very well with our Leader's effect as it makes your opponents needing more power or else we can just rest 1 DON to stop an attack. Zoro has 2 effects, the first effect works on play, your Leader gains 2k power until the end of your opponent's turn. The second effect is an activate main, if your opponent has 8k power or more Character, this Character gains Rush Character. The second effect is the one I will ignore.

ST31 Luffy is like EB04 Zoro where you can ignore part of the effects unless you want to keep active DONs. Luffy has 2 effects, the first effect will require you to have 3 attached DONs on the field to gain Rush. This effect can be ignored if you want to. The second effect works on play, for every SH card on your field, 1 of your opponent's Characters loses 1k power for the turn. The more SH cards you can get on the field, the more power 1 of your opponent's Characters loses, and this can include Leader and Stage card.
