Not much of an upgrade for this deck as I've only found 1 card that could work for this deck, but the rest of the build will be pretty much the same. Well, it will be all about cramping as much cards as possible for this deck since there are a lot of Straw Hat cards that can work with EB02 Luffy.
OP17 Luffy |
|---|
Leader Character (36) Event (15) |
How it Works?
The deck still rely on maintaining 6 DONs so we could use the full effect of Mamaragan. You can constantly use your Leader's effect to return DONs if needed. We can also untap DONs which can give us a lot of room to use our Events. Unfortunately, due to the lack of room, I can't really change the numbers for the Events, so these will have to do.
As you know, there are no high costs, our maximum cost will be 6, so you will need to take out your opponent's Characters if possible, or use Events to stop your opponent's attacks. Don't forget, your Leader also gains 1k power until the end of your opponent's turn, so we don't have to worry about 5k beat sticks, except swinging into our own Characters.
Untapping
The untapping is the same as last time, but I reduced the numbers due to the lack of room in the deck. OP14 Nami will be 1 of the card we won't be able to search out from the deck, and you will also need the right amount of DONs for this card to work. The effect works on play, rest up to 2 of your opponent's 8 cost or less Characters. Then, untap 5 DONs at the end of your turn. We also have a rest effect which is very useful, especially if we want to combine it with some of our Events.
OP15 Brook is more of a final push for game, especially when we are running plenty of low cost Characters for Brook to target. Brook has 2 effects, the first effect works on play, rest 1 of your opponent's cards. The rest can target any cards we want, including Leader. The second effect is an activate main, you may trash this card, if your Leader is SH type, untap 1 of your 8 cost base or less Characters.
OP13 Luffy would work very well with Brook because of the Double Attack ability making your opponent loses 2 Life cards instead of 1. The effect works on play, if your Leader is multicoloured, untap 4 of your DONs. Then, you cannot play 5 cost base or more Characters for the turn. 5 cost or more shouldn't matter too much as we've got plenty of other cards to choose from.
EB02 Luffy will work well with our Leader's effect as well as having the Rush ability if we meet the requirements. Luffy has 2 effects, the first effect with require you to have a multicoloured Leader and your opponent needing 5 DONs to work to gain Rush. The second effect works when attacking, you may return 2 of your active DONs to your DON deck to untap this Character. Then, add the top Life card to your hand. As you know, our Leader can easy gain 2 active DONs, so you can easily use Luffy's effect with ease.
Prevention
A slight change to the deck build as I've added OP17 Nami the only new card to the deck, and the effect will be very useful, especially against high power cards. The effect is if 1 of your EB or SH Characters would be KO'd, you may rest this Character instead. This will also means you could save up your Blockers and use the Blockers on other attacks.
I'll Go All Out is to stop your opponent's attacks, but only if they are rested and we've got a few rest effects in this deck to make use of the Event. The main effect is you may rest 2 DONs, up to 2 of your opponent's rested 7 cost Characters or less cannot become active during your opponent's next Refresh Phase. The counter effect is your Leader gains 3k power for the battle.
Electrical Luna will depends on the type of decks you are playing against. If you are playing against more aggressive decks with lower costs, you want to run more Luna in the build. The effect is all of your opponent's rested 7 cost Characters or less cannot become active during your opponent's next Refresh Phase. The trigger effect is rest 1 of your opponent's Characters.
Rest
The rest effects are the same as my previous build, so nothing really changed. ST18 Usohachi is mainly for the 2k counter as the effect will be very difficult to trigger if you are maintaining 6 DONs and less. The effect works on play, if you have 8 or more DONs on the field, rest 1 of your opponent's 5 cost or less Characters.
ST30 Luffy is nice to have, but at the same time you don't really want to run too many copies because of the cost. Luffy has 2 effects, the first effect works on play, you may rest 1 of your DONs, this Character gains Rush. This will cost you 5 DONs altogether. The second effect works when attacking, rest 1 of your opponent's Blockers. You can rest any Blockers will is very useful.
ST30 Luffy can rest any Blockers, but you still want Dead Man's Game who will be able to rest any Characters. The main effect is you may rest 3 DONs to rest up to total of 2 of your opponent's Characters or DONs, costing you 4 altogether. The counter effect is our Leader gains 3k power for the battle.
Searchers
Searchers are the same as you will have access to 3 different searchers for this build. EB02 Nami and PRB02 Nami has the exact same effect which works on play, look at the top 5 cards of your deck, reveal 1 SH card except Nami and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. The only difference is that PRB02 Nami also has a trigger effect which can let us play this card for free.
ST18 Zorojuro is a different type of searcher as we have a specific requirement, but we can use this card to attack thanks to the 6k power. The effect works on play, look at the top 5 cards of your deck, reveal purple 1 SH card and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order.
The Supports
The rest of the supports will be exactly the same as last time as these cards will need to be at maximum copies. Sanji & Pudding is your only ramp card in the deck as we want to maintain low DONs, so you don't want too much ramp. Sanji & Pudding has 2 effects, the first effect works during your turn, when 2 or more DONs are returned to your DON deck, add 1 DON as active. This will be very useful to prevent us from losing too much DONs. The second effect works on play, if the number of DONs on your field is equal or less than than your opponent, draw 1 card.
OP07 Sanji will be very useful for this deck as we've got plenty of cards who can return DONs, so you hardly would get 10 DONs on the field, easily triggering Sanji's requirement to play a cheap Blocker. The effect is if the number of DONs on your field is at least 2 less than your opponents, reduce this card's cost by 3, so you would be able to play Sanji for 3
Mamaragan is very good for this build as we can return plenty of DONs, easily triggering the full requirements. The main effect is by returning 2 DONs, draw 1 card. Then, rest 1 of your opponent's 5k power or less Characters. The counter effect is your Leader or 1 of your Characters gains 1k power for the battle. Then, if you have 6 or less DONs, draw 1 card. The extra draw power is definitely useful as we lack the draws to maintain a good hand size.
Giant no need to explain, any purple Straw Hat deck will be running this card if possible. The counter effect is by returning 2 DONs from your field, you may trash 1 card from your hand, if your Leader is SH type, your Leader or 1 of your Character cards gains 4k power for the battle. Then, draw 2 cards. You can always use Giant first before you use Mamaragan's counter effect if you have too much DONs on the field.
