Not a major change for Hancock as we only got 1 card from OP17 for this deck. The rest of the build will be pretty much the same as my previous build. Although, this time around, I would cramp as much as possible since the OP17 card is quite important for this deck as we mainly focus on Trigger cards.
OP17 Hancock |

Leader Character (47) Event (3) |
How it Works?
The deck will need to rely on Trigger effects to play Characters on your opponent's turn to trigger Hancock's Leader effect. I am also running Hiyori and Nyon in the build as those cards can get specific cards to the Life area so we don't have to rely on luck. You also have the Life gain cards who can give us more Life cards and also more chances of triggering our Trigger effects.
Life Gain
One of the ways to get Trigger effects will be relying on our Life gain cards and rely on a bit of luck to get the trigger effects. OP15 Zoro won't matter for the discard cost as we can easily get a massive hand size if the cards are played right. Zoro works on play, you may trash 1 card to add the top card of your deck to top of your Life area.
EB04 Kizaru is the only card with a Life requirement in order to gain Life cards. However, we start with 4 Life cards, so using Kizaru's effect shouldn't be difficult. The effect works on play, if you have 2 or less Life cards, add the top card of your deck to top of your Life area.
OP16 Blackbeard is optional for this deck, some builds don't run him and some builds do. I personally like to run Blackbeard because we want to hit trigger effects as well as being a 7 Warlords card which is useful with 1 of our Events. The effect works on play, look at top 3 cards of your deck, add 1 card to top of your Life area. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. The trigger effect is negate the effect of 1 of your opponent's Characters this turn. Then, KO 1 of your opponent's 5 cost or less Characters.
Lastly, if you've got 9 DONs, you want to play OP14 Hancock as Hancock is not just a Life gain card, but also can do more. The effect works on play, if your Leader is 7 Warlord, add the top card of your deck to top of your Life area. Then, your opponent add the top card from their Life area to their hand. This will help to reduce your opponent's Life cards, especially if they are already on low health. The trigger effect is play one 6k or less Character and has Trigger from your hand.
Arranging Life Area
The 2 main cards of the deck so we can trigger the trigger effects with ease and won't need to rely on luck to get the draw. OP06 Hiyori is a card I prefer more over OP14 Grandma Nyon. Both of these cards have the exact same effect which works on play, you may add 1 card from top or bottom of your Life cards to your hand to place 1 card from your hand to the top of your Life cards. The only difference is that Hiyori has a 2k counter whilst Grandma Nyon has a Trigger effect that lets you play this card.
Attaching Rested DONs
Attaching DONs will help to trigger the Leader's other effect that can reduce your opponent's Life area without the need to attack. Being able to attach rested DONs will be better as we could save up the active DONs for other cards. Ran is important to have on the field as she makes attaching DONs a lot easier to do. The effect is an activate main effect, attach 1 rested DON to 1 of your Kuja Pirates Leader or your Characters. The trigger effect is if your Leader is Kuja Pirates, play this card.
ST17 Hancock is a Blocker, but doesn't have a counter which can be risky if you need to use counters to block your opponent's attacks. The effect works on play, look at the top 3 cards of your deck and place them on top or bottom of your deck in any order. Then, attach 1 rested DON to your 7 Warlords Leader or Characters. The checking the top cards could let you play cards like Zoro or Kizaru to put that top card to the Life area, ready to trigger the trigger effects if needed.
Gorgon Sisters is another powerful card if you can play them to the field. The effect is an activate main, reveal 3 AL or Kuja Pirates cards from your hand to give all of your Leader and Characters 1 rested DON each. The fact you only need 3 AL or Kuja Pirates in hand to be able to power up your field which is very useful. The trigger effect is if your Leader is Kuja Pirates, play this card.
Draw
The one major change to the build is the addition of OP17 Pudding who could provide us even more draw power on top of the Leader's effect. The effect works on play, you may trash 1 Trigger card to draw 3 cards. The trigger effect will be useless for this deck, so you will mainly be aiming for the main effect. The trigger effect is look at top 5 cards of your deck, reveal 1 BM Pirates card and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order.
OP14 Shaku is not the only draw power in the deck, but there is a requirement for the effect to work which is why you will mostly play Pudding over Shaku. The effect works on play, if your opponent has 3 or less Life cards, draw 2 cards and trash 2 cards from your hand. Not to mention, this is only a hand filter effect so you won't be able to gain any new cards and just filter out the non counter cards. The trigger effect is if your Leader is Kuja Pirates, play this card.
Removals
I've only added a small removal to the build so we don't have to attack into your opponent's rested Characters, and can focus more on their Leaders. OP14 Rayleigh is similar to Shaku where there is a Life requirement in order to use the effect. The effect works on play, if your Leader is multicoloured and your opponent has 3 or less Life cards, KO 1 of your opponent's 7k base power or less Characters. 7k power or less can give you plenty of targets to choose from. The trigger effect is activate this card's on play effect.
Gravity Blade is to go against wide boards and also set up enough rested DONs for Gorgon Sisters effect. The main effect is place two 6 cost or less Characters to the bottom of the owner's deck. 6 cost or less won't be a lot to remove your opponent's big beat sticks, but can still help to stop the Rush if needed. The trigger effect is place one 5 cost or less Character to the bottom of the owner's deck.
The Supports
A small change to the supports section. OP16 Marigold has a Life requirement to use the main effect, otherwise, this card would be a vanilla 5k beat stick. The effect is if you have 2 or less Life cards, this card gains Blocker. This will be difficult to trigger if you constantly use the Life gain effects. The trigger effect is if your Leader is Kuja Pirates, play this card.
OP14 Moria will be for the trigger effect as the main effect will be useless. It won't matter if Moria end up in your hand as you've got Hiyori and Grandma Nyon who can place Moria to the Life area. The trigger effect is play one 4 cost or less Character from your trash. Your main target will be playing Zoro from the trash, so Zoro could use the Life gain effect, but you also have other choices like ST17 Hancock for Blocker ability. At the same time, this will be able to trigger your Leader's draw effect.
Who Should Disappear is just a 0 cost Event in case you have too many non counters in hand. The effect is you may trash 1 card from your hand, your Leader or 1 of your Characters gains 3k power for the battle. The effect is if you have 0 Life cards, you may add the top card of your deck to top of your Life area. Then, trash 1 card from your hand. The trigger effect can easily be triggered with Hiyori or Nyon, but I am only running 1 copy in the deck due to lack of room.
Perfume Femur will be good against Blockers, but otherwise, we can power up our Characters even more, so your opponents will need to use more counters, and we could get rested DONs for Ran or Gorgon Sisters effect. The effect is 1 of your 7 Warlords Leader or Characters gains 2k power. Then, when that card attacks during this turn, your opponents cannot activate Blockers. The trigger effect is just draw 1 card.
