ST31 Red/Green (Luffy & Ace) Deck Profile

Yes, another update for Luffy & Ace Leader, simply because I didn't check the starter deck cards that were releasing. At least, this will give you options if you want to use this build or my previous Luffy & Ace build. Both builds will be completely different, and not just a simple 1 to 2 cards upgrade to the deck.

ST31 Luffy & Ace

How it Works?

I am mainly using the SH engine for Luffy & Ace Leader as I've completely removed in Ace Characters for this deck. This build is also running a lot of Events because of OP12 Luffy, as OP12 Luffy will be able to play our low power Characters in this build. Although, because of our Stage card Sunny, the amount of Events have been reduced, but if you can keep at least 2 in your hand, you will be good to go.

Free Play

The main cards who can play Characters for free. OP12 Luffy works with our Leader's effect as our Leader is restricting us from playing 7k or more base power, but constant power up effects will be fine like this card. Luffy has 2 effects, the first effect will require you to have 2 attach DONs on the field so you can make this card gains 2k power, and combined with the Leader's effect, you could have a 8k power Character on your opponent's turn. The second effect works on play, reveal 2 Events from your hand to play 1 red Character with 3k power or less from your hand. Then, attach 1 rested DON to your Leader or 1 of your Characters.

ST31 Sanji is one of our main target for OP12 Luffy, in fact, if you have multiple copies in hand, you could easily fill up the field in one go. Sanji also has 2 effects, the first effect will require to attach 2 DONs for the Rush ability. This is not important if you don't have the ability to attach DONs, so you will be aiming for the second effect. The effect works on play, draw 1 card and play one 5 cost or less SH Character except Sanji from your hand. As you can see, you could play OP12 Luffy and Luffy will be able to play Sanji since Sanji is only 3k power, so we could use Sanji's effect to play another SH Character filling up the field in one go.

OP13 Law is a nice back up option to play your Characters for free, but unlike the other 2 cards, Law can let you play a lot of Characters rather than aiming for specific cards. Law has 2 effects, the first effect is if you have 1 or less Life cards, this Character gains Blocker. The second effect works on play, you may return 1 of your Characters to the owner's hand to play one 5 cost or less Characters from your hand rested.

Rush

Both of our Rush cards are Luffy since we want to keep it SH base for our other effects to work. ST30 Luffy has 2 effects, the first effect works on play, you may rest 1 of your DONs, this Character gains Rush. Technically, you will need 5 DONs if you want to attack straight away. The second effect works when attacking, rest 1 of your opponent's Blockers. This will be very effective if your opponent is running Blockers.

ST21 Luffy is one of the key card in this build, especially since we are running OP12 Luffy in the build. You want to attach as much DONs as possible, so you can make OP12 Luffy's power active. The main effect works when attacking, attach 1 rested DON to your Leader or 1 of your Characters.

Searchers

The more searchers, the better for this build as we can look for the specific cards very early, and start pulling off the combos for the deck. Both OP01 and EB02 Nami has the exact same effect which works on play, look at the top 5 cards of your deck, reveal 1 SH card except Nami and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order.

EB04 Bonney is a backup option since this card is not a SH card, and, we can play this card with OP12 Luffy's effect. The effect works on play, look at top 4 cards of your deck, reveal 1 Egghead or SH card except Bonney and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order.

ST31 Sunny is another card where you can attach rested DONs which will be very useful for triggering OP12 Luffy's effect. Sunny has 2 effects, the first effect works on play, look at the top 5 cards of your deck, reveal up to 1 SH card and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. The second effect is an activate main, you may rest this Stage, attach 1 rested DON to 1 of your Luffy cards. This won't work with the Leader as this card specifically says Monkey D Luffy whilst our Leader is Luffy & Ace.

Power

Not much for the power cards as I am going back to the Rayleigh build with some of these cards. OP10 Sanji will be another card that can be played using OP12 Luffy thanks to the 3k base power. Sanji has 2 effects, the first effect works during your turn, this Character gains 3k power, making Sanji a 6k beat stick. The second effect works on KO, draw 1 card.

I like to call Supreme King, Conqueror Haki as this is the translation when I've read and watch One Piece. Conqueror has an effect which will be still usable without the Rayleigh in the build. The counter effect is 1 of your Characters or Rayleigh gains 2k power for this battle. Then, you may rest 1 of your DONs, if you do, your opponent's Leader and all of their Characters loses 1k power for the turn. You will only be able to use Conqueror on your Characters as this won't work with the Leader if you want the counter power.

This is also why I am running Bad Manners who can work with the Leader as well as the Characters. Although, you want to use Bad Manners on your Leader more because of Conqueror. The counter effect is you may trash 1 card from your hand, your Leader or 1 of your Characters gains 3k power for this battle. The trigger effect is reduce 1 of your opponent's Leader or Characters by 3k for this turn.

Straw Hat Supports

The rest of the SH supports will be pretty much the same I think to the previous build, but I don't really remember. Brook is optional as you can just run Law so you could get more Characters to the field. Brook has 2 effects, the first effect works on play, rest 1 of your opponent's cards. The second effect is an activate main, you may trash this Character, if your Leader is SH type, untap 1 of your 8 cost base or less Characters. As this deck doesn't have major beat sticks, having multi attacking options will help to reduce your opponent's hand.

I'll Go All Out is a card that can stop your opponent's attacks which is important if this build can't rely on high power Characters. The main effect is you may rest 2 DONs, 2 of your opponent's rested 7 cost or less Characters will not become active during your opponent's next Refresh Phase. The counter effect is your Leader gains 3k power for the battle.

Dead Man's Game is a card that will be able to rest your opponent's Characters so you could attack into those Characters, or combo it with I'll Go All Out. The main effect is you may rest 3 DONs to rest up to total of 2 of your opponent's Characters or DONs, costing you 4 to play altogether. The counter effect is your Leader gains 3k power for the battle.

Mole Pistol is a removal and getting 6k beat stick on the field to use the full effect of this card is not difficult to do, especially with the Leader's effect who can power up Luffy. The effect is reduce 1 of your opponent's Characters power by 5k for this turn. Then, if you have a Character with 6k power or more, KO 1 of your opponent's 2k power or less Characters. The trigger effect is activate this card's main effect.
