Just like OP16 Ace, OP13 Ace will get some supports from OP17, unless they've decided to focus on mono colours. So this will be a temporary build until we can see the supports from the next set. There are a few cards from OP16 that could be used in this build, so it's not just a 1 or 2 card upgrade.
OP16 Ace |
|---|
Leader Character (42) Event (4) Stage (4) |
How it Works?
As you know, this deck has plenty of draw power, so you could use Ace right away without worrying about low hand size. Plus, Ace also has his own draw power as well when your 6k power or more, or you take damage. You only start with 3 Life cards, so you need to try and protect your Leader early against your opponent's attacks until we can get the big drop to the field.
Draw
The draw power is mostly the same with the new addition of Mr 3 from OP16 set, but you will still have plenty of draw power to pull off. OP13 Otama is a card we can play on the very first turn without the need of your opponents to reduce your Life cards. The effect works on play, if you have 3 or less Life cards, draw 2 cards and trash 1 card from your hand. You can also get Jozu to bounce Otama back to hand for the 2k counter if needed.
PRB02 Marco is just a 6k Blocker, which will be very helpful to block any early attacks since we start with 3 Life cards. The effect works on KO, draw 2 cards. This is very easy to trigger, unless your opponent bounce Marco back to hand, and we don't really want Marco in our hand.
OP16 Mr 3 is a card that not only has draw power, but also can stop 1 of your opponent's attacks which will be very useful. The effect is an activate main, you may trash this Character to draw 2 cards, and up to 1 of your opponent's 9 cost or less Characters cannot attack until the end of your opponent's turn. You do want to attack with Mr 3 first, unless you really need to stop the high power Character.
OP13 Yamato is just like Otama where we can play her to the field as soon as possible, since we only start with 3 Life cards. The effect works on play, if you have 3 or less Life cards, draw 2 cards. Then, attach 1 rested DON to your Leader. The attaching DON will also help you trigger Ace's effect if you only have 5 DONs on the field.
Lastly, we've got OP13 Whitebeard who is a 12k Blocker, but can be used for an attack if you are going for the final push for game. The effect works on play, draw 2 cards and trash 1 card from your hand. Then, attach up to 2 rested DON to your Leader and 1 of your Characters each. Not only, we can trigger Ace's effect, but you can also power up 1 of your Characters to hit deadly numbers.
Power
The 2 power cards of the deck to make 6k Leader Ace even harder to hit, plus you can also swing with your Leader with massive power. EB04 Zoro is mainly for the power up effect rather than the other effect, but if you can pull off the other effect, that will be a bonus. Zoro has 2 effects, the first effect works on play, your Leader gains 2k power until the end of your opponent's turn. The effect is an activate main, if your opponent has 8k power or more Character, this Character gains Rush Character. This might be difficult to trigger, especially if you play Zoro early.
I am Whitebeard not only lets you play your 10 drop Whitebeard for 8, but also powers up your Leader. The effect is if your Leader includes WB Pirates type, play 1 Whitebeard from your hand. Then, you may add 1 card from the top or bottom of your Life cards to your hand, if you do, 1 of your Leader gains 2k power until the end of your opponent's next turn. We do lose a Life card, but if you managed to maintain your Life area, this shouldn't be much of a problem.
Searchers
Draw power is not the only way that this deck can let you gain massive hand size. We are also running 3 different searchers, although, 2 of them, only look for WB Pirates cards. ST22 Izo is a special searcher as we have 2 effects on this card. The first effect works on play, look at the top 5 cards of your deck, reveal 1 including WB Pirates type card except Izo and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. The second effect works during your opponent's attack, you may draw 1 card and place 1 card from your hand to the bottom of the deck.
OP13 Garp can't search for your low costs cards and there's a total of 4 max out copies in this build where Garp can't search. Hopefully, you won't be able to see those top cards when you use Garp's effect. The effect works on play, if your Leader is Sabo, Ace or Luffy, look at the top 4 cards of your deck, reveal 1 card with cost 3 or more and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order.
OP16 Moby Dick is another searcher, so even if you don't see your other 2 searchers, this card can acts as a back up. Moby Dick has 2 effects, the first effect works on play, if your Leader is WB Pirates type, look at top 3 cards of your deck and add 1 card to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. The second effect is an activate main, you may trash this Stage to attach 1 rested DON to your Leader or 1 of your Characters. Thanks to this effect, you can attach rested DONs to Ace to trigger Ace's effects.
The Supports
The rest of the supports is the same as last time with 2 of these cards being WB Pirates. OP08 Jozu can bounce our searchers back to hand or Otama so we can use their on play effects again as well as reducing your opponent's field. The effect works on play, you may return 1 of your other Character to the owner's hand to return one 6 cost or less Character to the owner's hand.
ST23 Uta only works when we have high beat stick on the field which shouldn't be difficult to do in this build. The effect is if you have a Character with 10k power or more, reduce this Character's cost by 4, making Uta only cost 2 to play for a Blocker. This would work very well with I Am Whitebeard as you will only have 2 DONs left to work with when you play your 10 drop Whitebeard.
OP08 Whitebeard only works the best when your opponent has a full field, otherwise, you will mainly be targeting OP13 version instead as OP13 version has a better effect. The effect works on play, if your Leader includes WB Pirates type and you have 2 or less Life cards, select all of your opponent's Characters on their field. None of the selected Characters can attack unless your opponent trashes 2 cards from their hand until the end of your opponent's turn.
Another 1 copy is Roger, Roger will work amazing if your opponent has Blockers, as this can stop your opponents from using Blocker ability if we meet the requirements. The effect is when your opponent activates Blocker, if either you or your opponent has 0 Life cards, you win the game. So as long as 1 of us have 0 Life cards, this effect will always be active, and you do not need to attack with Roger, you only need him on the field for the effect to be active.
