Nami was a build I didn't post when EB03 set got released as I was waiting for EB04 set as well as OP15 to post this build. I guess there was also the time aspect as I wanted to prioritise the decks that won't be updating for awhile. But this deck got plenty of new cards, especially the yellow side that I couldn't cramp every cards I want to this build.
OP15 Nami |
|---|
Leader Character (47) Event (3) |
How it Works?
As you know the TB Pirates engine can take up a lot of spaces, but Nami can discard some cards, so we can set up certain TB Pirates from our trash and play them. Of course, we will also need to place some cards to the Life area either using Life gain or with Hiyori's effect, so we could hit those trigger effects and start spamming Characters to the field.
You also have some draw power for this build, but mainly, we want some cards to trigger Nami's effect easily, so we can trigger the draw no matter what situations we are in. Of course, attacking will be the easiest, but not all the turns where your cards could hit your opponent's Leader which is why we want to rely on our own cards.
Life Gain
There are plenty of good low cost Life gain cards that we don't need 6 drop Kuma in the build. OP06 Kiku will still be needed as this card can reduce your opponent's attacking options if we meet the requirements. The effect works on KO, if your opponent has 3 or less Life cards, add the top card of your deck to top of your Life area. The trigger effect is if your opponent has 3 or less Life cards, play this card.
OP15 Zoro is a great addition as not only we've got Life gain, but we can also discard cards in our hand which can be useful if we want to maintain 7 or less cards in hand to get the draw power. Not only that, we can also set up TB Pirates in the trash too. The effect works on play, you may trash 1 card to add the top card of your deck to top of your Life area.
EB04 Kizaru is an obvious choice as we can reduce our Life area, so you can easily use the effects during the early turn, and not wait for your opponents to attack your Leader. Kizaru is a 6k Blocker as well which can stop your opponent's attacks than using counters from hand. The effect works on play, if you have 2 or less Life cards, add the top card of your deck to top of your Life area.
EB03 Robin is 1 of the card we must need to trigger Nami's Leader effect. Robin has 2 effects, the first effect works on play, you may trash the top card of your Life area, if your Leader is SH type, add up to 2 cards from top of your deck to top of your Life area. We can trash our Life cards before we get the Life gain, so this could easily trigger the draw power. The second effect works during your opponent's turn and on KO, you may deal 1 damage to your opponent. Just like Kiku, we can put some pressure toward your opponents and not KOing any Characters they want.
Draw
Extra draw power is always useful, especially if you have low hand size, and Nami's draw is not enough. Girl is a promo card with 2 effects. The first effect works on play, draw 1 and trash 1 card. This is only a hand filter effect, so nothing special. What we do want is the second effect which is an activate main, once per turn, attach 1 rested DON to your Nami cards. You do want to attach this with the Leader, so we don't need to use active DONs.
PRB02 Marco is another 6k Blocker with an on play effect that let us draw 2 cards. So not only we can block your opponent's attacks, but we can increase our hand size, and would be very useful with Nami's second effect that powers up the Leader.
OP13 Whitebeard is another Blocker, but this is a beefy Blocker with 12k power. The effect works on play, draw 2 cards and trash 1 card from your hand. Then, attach up to 2 rested DONs to your Leader and 1 of your Characters. This effect is very good as we will be able to make use of the rested DONs even if we used up all the DONs to play Whitebeard, giving you the ability to trigger the Leader's effect on your opponent's turn.
Removing Your Life Cards
We can trigger Nami's draw with these 2 cards as they remove our Life cards. OP11 Zeus also acts as a removal, and that could be useful if we want to remove your opponent's Characters. The effect works on play, you may add the top or bottom card of your Life area to your hand to KO 1 of your opponent's 5 cost or less Characters.
OP06 Hiyori is great for this deck as not only we can trigger Nami's effect, but we can also place trigger cards from our hand to the Life area. The effect works on play, you may add the top or bottom card from your Life area to hand to add 1 card from your hand to top of your Life area.
Thriller Bark Pirates Supports
OP14 TB Pirates is a very good engine, especially if you can discard certain cards from your hand to set up the trash. Kumacy, Dr Hogback and Perona has the exact same trigger effect which is you play one 4 cost or less TB Pirates Character from your trash rested. Dr Hogback does has a main effect which works on KO, play one 4 cost or less and a Trigger Character except Dr Hogback from your trash. Not many options we can choose from, it would be either Perona or Kiku.
Perona is definitely useful if you can play her. The effect works on play or on KO, 1 of your opponent's 6 cost or less Characters cannot attack until the end of your opponent's turn. This will help us to prevent your opponent's attacks even if we don't have Blockers to stop them.
Moria is a 8 drop with 10k beat stick, so this is very strong if we can play him to the field. The effect works on play, select one 4 cost or less TB Pirates Character from your trash and play it or add it to top of your Life area face up. You could set up the trigger effect or fill the field. The trigger effect is play one 4 cost or less Character from your trash. The trigger effect can also play any 4 cost or less Characters, so you can play OP15 Zoro and set up the Life gain.
Straw Hat Supports
The rest of the build are the SH cards. OP15 Sanji is another 4k Blocker, but the effect can be useful, especially when we have big drop Characters in play. The effect works on play, 1 of your Characters gains Unblockable for the turn, this will force your opponents to use a lot of counters from their hand, if they have Blockers on the field.
EB03 Nami is another great card, but this card can go in any yellow build as long as you have the room. Nami has 2 effects, the first effect works on play, attach 1 rested DON to your Leader. Then, if your opponent has 3 or more Life cards, add the top card of your opponent's Life area to their hand. We do want to attach rested DONs so we can trigger the Leader's effect, so it doesn't really matter if we can't reduce your opponent's Life area. The second effect works on KO, you may turn the top card from your Life area face up to play one 6k power or less Character from your hand. There are plenty of Characters you can play with this effect, so this really depends on which cards you have in hand.
Be My Servant is the only searcher of the deck. The effect is if your Leader is Nami, look at top 4 cards of your deck, reveal one 2 cost to 8 cost card and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. The only card we can't add is Kumacy and Whitebeard as one cost 1 and the other cost 10, but we can add majority of the cards to our hand. The trigger effect is activate this card's main effect.
