OP14 Hancock also got some nice upgrades from the yellow side rather than blue, so this build will be mainly running yellow cards more. Although, there are a lot of cards I want to cramp in this build, but I couldn't since I want to aim for Hancock's effect to constantly draw cards as this is not once per turn for the draw power. So you could end up drawing a lot of cards with trigger effects.
OP15 Hancock |
|---|
Leader Character (45) Event (5) |
How it Works?
This deck is very straightforward as we want to put our main Amazon Lily or Kuja Pirates to the Life area so we can trigger their trigger effects that would let us play those cards for free. We've also got a lot of Life gain effects, so your opponent will take a while to get through our Life area, especially when the Life gain cards are low cost.
You also want to attach DONs to your Leader as this will make your Leader trigger the effect, making your opponent loses a Life card when they try to KO 1 of our Amazon Lily or Kuja Pirates cards. This would put some pressure to your opponents rather than just trying to reduce our field as much as possible.
Life Gain
There's a lot of Life gain in this build, and this would increase the chance of getting the trigger effects working for this deck. OP15 Zoro works on play, you may trash 1 card to add the top card of your deck to top of your Life area. This won't be difficult to do as we are drawing a lot of cards if you can get the trigger effect working.
EB04 Kizaru has a timing and can't be played straight away unlike Zoro. But, we do have a 6k Blocker on the field we can use. The effect works on play, if you have 2 or less Life cards, add the top card of your deck to top of your Life area. The only card that can reduce our Life area is Zeus but I'm not running a lot of copies in the build.
OP12 Kuma is needed, even though both Zoro and Kizaru are the best replacement, as this card is a 7 Warlord which works well with 1 of our Events that I am running in the build. Kuma has 2 effects, the first effect works on play, you may trash 1 card from your hand, add the top card of your deck to top of your Life area. Then, this Character gains +2 cost until the end of your opponent's turn. The +2 cost won't matter too much as we just want the Life gain effect. The second effect works during your opponent's turn and on KO, add the top card of your deck to top of your Life area, forcing pressure to your opponents if they don't KO Kuma, we have a 7k beat stick on the field.
OP14 Hancock is our main beat stick of the deck, just in case we need more power and not just spamming Trigger Characters to the field. The effect works on play, if your Leader is 7 Warlord, add the top card of your deck to top of your Life area. Then, your opponent add the top card from their Life area to their hand. Hancock can reduce your opponent's Life area even more without the need to attack your opponent's Leader combined with our Leader's effect. The trigger effect is play one 6k or less Character and has Trigger from your hand.
Arranging Life Area
Life gain only increase the chances of hitting trigger effects, but if we want the best chance of hitting trigger effects, then, we need Hiyori and Nyon in the build. OP14 Nyon is a card that works the same as Hiyori. The effect works on play, you may add 1 card from top or bottom of your Life cards to your hand to place 1 card from your hand to the top of your Life cards. The one difference is that Nyon can be searched out from the deck with our searcher and also has a trigger effect. The trigger effect is play this card.
OP06 Hiyori is also important as we want to trigger Hancock's Leader effect using our trigger effects, so even if you don't see Nyon, we can always play Hiyori as back up. The effect works on play, you may add 1 card from top or bottom of your Life cards to your hand to place 1 card from your hand to the top of your Life cards. Hiyori has a 2k counter, which is why I would prefer to play Nyon unless I don't have her in the hand.
Removals
Not much for removal as we've got these cards. OP11 Zeus is a nice 2 drop removal we can use for the build. The effect works on play, add the top or bottom card from your Life area to your hand to KO 1 of your opponent's 5 cost or less Characters. We can reduce our Life area so we can trigger Kizaru's effect. We also have a 2k counter we can use if we don't want to use the effect.
EB03 Nami can reduce your opponent's Life area even more, so we don't have to attack your opponent's Leader, but it would make them use their counters early as we also have Hancock reducing your opponent's Life area. Nami has 2 effects, the first effect works on play, attach 1 rested DON to your Leader. Then, if your opponent has 3 or more Life cards, add the top card of your opponent's Life area to their hand. We can also attach DONs to our Leader which is important to trigger the Leader's effect. The second effect works on KO, you may turn the top card from your Life area face up to play one 6k power or less Character from your hand. This would allow us to trigger the Leader's effect as we can play Characters during your opponent's turn.
OP14 Rayleigh requires timing to work, and if you reveal this at the wrong time, then the effect wouldn't work. The effect works on play, if your Leader is multicoloured and your opponent has 3 or less Life cards, KO 1 of your opponent's 7k base power or less Characters. 7k base power is a lot, and we can target a lot of cards with this effect. The trigger effect is activate this card's on play effect.
Attaching DONs
We have more cards that can attach rested DONs, so we don't need to use an active DON for the Leader, and can use the extra DONs to play other cards. Both of these cards have the exact same trigger effect which is if your Leader is Kuja Pirates, play this card, and both have activate main for attaching rested DONs which is useful. Ran's effect is attach 1 rested DON to 1 of your Kuja Pirates Leader or your Characters. This is very easy to do as long as we can play a card.
Gorgon Sisters on the other hand requires hand size, and if you don't have certain amount of cards in hand, the effect won't work and this card will just a plain vanilla with 2k counter. The effect is reveal 3 Amazon Lily or Kuja Pirates cards from your hand to give all of your Leader and Characters 1 rested DON each. On the bright side, this card does power up the field to make the numbers hit better since we are mainly running 5k base Characters.
Amazon Lily/Kuja Pirates Supports
Not much supports for the AL or Kuja Pirates supports as I am still using these same cards for the build. OP14 Marguerite is our main searcher of the deck. The effect works on play, look at the top 5 cards of your deck, reveal 1 AL or Kuja Pirates card and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order and trash 1 card from your hand. The trigger effect is if your Leader is Kuja Pirates, play this card.
OP14 Shaku is a nice hand filter, so we can get rid of the cards we won't be needing. The effect works on play, if your opponent has 3 or less Life cards, draw 2 cards and trash 2 cards from your hand. 3 or less shouldn't be difficult to trigger, but during the early turns, this card will just be a plain 2k counter vanilla if we can't meet the Life requirements. The trigger effect is if your Leader is Kuja Pirates, play this card.
Slave Arrow is our main card, especially to recycle on play effects like Nyon, Hiyori or even Zeus. The counter effect is by returning one 2 cost or more Character to the owner's hand, your Leader or 1 of your Characters gains 4k power for the battle. The trigger effect is draw 2 cards and place 2 cards from your hand to the bottom of the deck in any order.
Lastly, Perfume Femur is mainly for the power up to make your 7 Warlords cards hit much better power. If they also have Blocker on the field, this will be even better. The effect is 1 of your 7 Warlords Leader or Characters gains 2k power. Then, when that card attacks during this turn, your opponents cannot activate Blockers. The trigger effect is just draw 1 card.
