EB03 Purple/Yellow (Robin) Deck Profile

We have some nice EB03 supports for Robin as well as using the OP14 supports for this build. But, I waited until EB03 so I can post this deck altogether. However, just like the previous build, there is a problem, and that is the colour purple will mean nothing, as I will be mainly running the new yellow cards for the deck.

EB03 Robin

How it Works?

The TB Pirates engine works very well with this deck as Robin can discard trigger cards for the ramp, so we mainly want to discard some TB Pirates Characters, so we can hit 1 of their trigger effects to play the Characters from trash. You do have Kuma and Robin for the Life gain, so we can increase the amount of triggers we can hit. There are only 3 non trigger cards, 2 Life gains and 1 Event. You have to be very unlucky to hit all 3 of them in your Life area and not trigger the trigger effects for TB Pirates.

What's more, it's the Banish keyword from our Leader. The more DONs you can attach to your Leader, the more counters they would need to use, otherwise, they will be losing Life cards instead of adding those cards to the hand. We don't really have much to play during the early turn of the game, so we can make use of the Banish keyword, but during the mid to late game, it will be mostly thinking time to how to make use of Banish Leader.

Life Gain

I've removed Kiku in this build as I wanted instant Life Gain for this deck to work, and these 2 cards work the best for this build. OP12 Kuma is the main Life gain card of the deck as he cost 6 to play. Kuma has 2 effects, the first effect works on play, you may trash 1 card from your hand, add the top card of your deck to top of your Life area. Then, this Character gains +2 cost until the end of your opponent's turn. You will be discarding 2 cards in a turn if you want to use both Robin Leader and Kuma's effect on the same turn. The second effect works during your opponent's turn and on KO, add the top card of your deck to top of your Life area.

I have no idea why they made EB03 Robin this way, but I personally think, this should be a secret rare over super rare even if we are restricted to SH Leaders. The effect is just too good to pass. Robin also has 2 effects like Kuma. The first effect works on play, you may trash the top card of your Life area, if your Leader is SH type, add up to 2 cards from top of your deck to top of your Life area. Of course, we want to hit the maximum 2 as this is a trigger effect deck. The second effect also works during your opponent's turn and on KO, you may deal 1 damage to your opponent. This would put some pressure as we already have a Leader with Banish keyword.

Searchers

The 2 main searcher of the deck for obvious reasons. OP13 Lilith will work great in this deck as I am mainly running trigger cards in the build, unless you get really unlucky and see our non trigger cards. The effect works on play, look at top 4 cards of your deck, reveal 1 Trigger card except Lilith and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. The trigger effect is activate this card's on play effect.

OP14 Absalom only works on KO, but because of most of our TB Pirates trigger effects can play Characters as rest, we do want your opponent to try and KO Absalom for the search effect. The effect is look at top 3 cards of your deck, reveal 1 TB Pirates card and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. The trigger effect is play one 4 cost or less TB Pirates Character from your trash rested.

Draw

Draw power is always useful because of the discarding for Robin's Leader ramp, and also Kuma if you use those 2 cards during the same turn. Although, both of these cards will have certain requirements. OP12 Baby 5 is just a vanilla with 2k counter, and to trigger the draw effect, we would rely on luck. The trigger effect is if your Leader is multicoloured, draw 2 cards.

Giant is the only Event in the deck as I am mainly focused on the Character's trigger effects rather than Events. The counter effect is by returning 2 DONs, you may trash 1 card from your hand, if your Leader is SH type, your Leader or 1 of your Characters gains 4k power for the battle. Then, draw 2 cards. The returning DONs doesn't matter too much as we've got the ramp, but we do want the discarding part, as the more TB Pirates in trash, the more choices we will have.

Free Play

Aside from trigger effects, we do have these 2 cards who can play Characters for free. OP14 Dr Hogback is another card like Absalom where we want to play this card at rest for your opponent to KO. The effect works on KO, play one 4 cost or less and a Trigger Character except Dr Hogback from your trash. There's not a lot of choices in these build as most of them are vanillas, but we could bring back Olvia and make Robin an 8k base Leader for the turn. The trigger effect is play one 4 cost or less TB Pirates Character from your trash rested.

Moria is our 8 cost Character, and what I do like about this card is that we have 2 choices, either use the main effect or the trigger effect depending on your luck. You don't really want to discard this card as it is not a 4 drop or less Character we could play from trash. The effect works on play, select one 4 cost or less TB Pirates Character from your trash and play it or add it to top of your Life area face up. You could have this as an additional Life gain, or to fill up the field depending on the situation. The trigger effect is play one 4 cost or less from your trash. Just like Hogback on KO's effect, we can play any Characters we want as long as it fit the cost requirement, so you could play cards like Olvia to make Robin an 8k base Leader f or the turn.

Thriller Bark Pirates Supports

The rest of the TB Pirates engine that was available to use for this build in OP14 set. They all have the exact same trigger effect which is play one 4 cost or less TB Pirates Character from your trash rested. OP14 Kumacy is just a vanilla with 2k counter whilst Cindry is a 1k Blocker, but we don't really want to play this card with the trigger effects as Cindry will come in at rest instead of active.

OP14 Perona is the main card we want to get to the trash area because of her effect. The effect works on play or on KO, 1 of your opponent's 6 cost or less Characters cannot attack until the end of your opponent's turn. Thanks to this effect, we could reduce the number of attacks your opponents can pull off if the timing is right.

Other Supports

Ohara supports have actually been fully replaced, leaving only Olvia in the build because Olvia works very well with our TB Pirates supports. The effect works on play, 1 of your Robin Leader gains 3k power for the turn. You can use Olvia for attack or defence which is very helpful in this deck. The trigger effect is if your Leader is Robin, draw 3 cards and trash 2 cards. It really depends on what card is in your hand, we could set up more choices for TB Pirates in trash, or we want to keep this card's main effect.

OP14 Rayleigh is another card like Baby 5 where we need multicoloured Leader to work. I guess having Robin as a multicoloured Leader is not a bad thing after all even if we are running mostly yellow build. The effect works on play, if your Leader is multicoloured and your opponent has 3 or less Life cards, KO 1 of your opponent's 7k base power or less Characters. 3 or less is not difficult to do unless your opponent starts with 5 Life cards, so this is a great removal for the build.
