OP12 Yellow (Katakuri) Deck Profile

I don't think Premium booster will have the updates for Katakuri, so I'm just going to keep the set to OP12 version. Although, compare to Enel who gain access to the constant Life gain cards, this build will gain access to BM Pirates cards. Katakuri's effect being able to constantly check the top card of your Life area is very useful, especially when we want to hit trigger effects.

OP12 Katakuri

How it Works?

We want to constantly check the top card of our Life area with Katakuri's effect so we could hit any trigger effects that could be useful, especially if we get new cards in the Life area. Most of the deck will rely on the trigger effects for this deck to work as some of the cards are mainly dead cards if they end up in our hand. This is also why OP08 Nami is important as we could use those cards as a discard fodder as well as reducing your opponent's field.

Life Gain

With the addition of Kuma, we've got plenty of Life gains available even if 2 of these Life gain cards doesn't work because of their requirements. Kiku is one of these card with the effect that only works on KO, if your opponent has 3 or less Life cards, add the top card of your deck to top of your Life area. It will depends how nice your opponents are giving you Life gain, hoping to get that trigger effect, otherwise, we would have a 6k beat stick on the field. The trigger effect is if your opponent has 3 or less Life cards, play this card, giving us an extra body on the field, ready to attack during our turn.

OP12 Kuma is definitely the best addition to the build as this card only cost 6 to play for the Life gain ability. Kuma has 2 effects, the first effect works on play, you may trash 1 card from your hand, add the top card of your deck to top of your Life area. Then, this Character gains +2 cost until the end of your opponent's turn. The +2 cost doesn't really matter for this build as we mainly want the Life gain ability. The second effect works during your opponent's turn and on KO, add the top card of your deck to top of your Life area just like Kiku, but we can mostly use the on play effect.

ST07 Big Mom will works the best if your opponents got Life cards, otherwise, we would just have a 8k beat stick on the field. The effect works on play, your opponents chooses one of the following, they either trash 1 of their their Life cards or you gain a Life card. I personally like either of the options, especially if we are not playing much Characters during the early turn.

Another Life gain card like Kuma is OP03 Big Mom. She does cost 10 to play, so you won't be able to activate Katakuri's effect for that turn, but in return, we do have a nice effect. The effect works on play, if your Leader is BM Pirates type, add the top card of your deck to top of your Life. Then, trash 1 card from your opponent's Life.

Removals

As for the removal, we've got cards who can KO Characters as well as your opponent Life cards, so even without attacking, you can easily reduce the amount of cards in your opponent's Life area. OP11 Zeus being a BM Pirates card means we can search it from the deck with our searchers. The effect works on play, you may add the top or bottom of your Life cards to your hand to KO 1 of your opponent's 5 cost or less Characters. I wouldn't worry too much if we can't use the effect as the 2k counter will be very useful.

OP10 Hawkins is mainly for the trigger effect over the main effect as we would have difficulty in triggering this, unless your opponent doesn't mind losing a Life card. The effect works on KO, trash the top card of your opponent's Life area. The trigger effect is you draw 2 cards and trash 1 card from your hand. The extra draw will be helpful to filter out the cards in your hand.

OP08 Nami is another card that can KO Characters with the effect as well as discarding some trigger cards we won't be using. The effect works on play, you may trash 1 card with trigger from your hand to KO 1 of your opponent's 5 cost or less Characters. Then, if you have 3 or less cards in your hand, draw 1 card. 3 or less cards in your hand shouldn't be too difficult, especially during late game where we need the draw power. The trigger effect is just activate this card's on play effect.

OP10 Kid is for extra Life removal. I know we already got Big Mom for the Life removal, but it doesn't hurt to run more, especially when this deck works the best during mid to late game, where we have DONs to play the high cost Characters. Kid has 2 effects, the first effect work on play, you may rest this Character to trash the top card of your opponent's Life area.  The second effect works at the end of your turn, if your opponent has 2 or less Life cards, draw 1 card and trash 1 card. This is just a nice hand filter effect if you get too much non counter cards in your hand.

Big Mom Pirates Supports

The rest of the BM Pirates supports for the build are these cards. It is not a huge number in the build, so you could potentially hit and miss with the search effects. OP03 Pudding works best as your turn 1 play. The effect works on play, look at the top 4 cards of your deck, reveal 1 Sanji or BM Pirates card other than Pudding and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order.

OP03 Perospero is a different type of searcher, instead of being an on play effect, the effect works on KO. The effect is look at the top 3 cards of your deck, reveal 1 BM Pirates card and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. However, the trigger effect would be very useful as we could get a Character on the field, ready to attack on your next turn. The trigger effect is you may trash 1 card from your hand to play this card.

ST07 Brulee is just a Blocker with a trigger effect that allows us to play this card, whilst ST20 Brulee only has a trigger effect, but with 2k counter. The trigger effect is look at the top of your or your opponent's Life cards, and place it on top or bottom of the Life cards. Then, add this card to your hand. This is pretty much like Katakuri's effect, helping us to manage the Life cards.

Triggers

Now the cards for the trigger effects which we are mainly focusing on for these cards, but 2 of them can also use their main effect if needed. OP06 Onami also have a nice main effect, but I usually aim for the trigger effect if I can as the trigger effect provide extra removal for this deck. The effect works on play, your Leader or 1 of your Characters gains Banish for this turn. The trigger effect is KO 1 of your opponent's 5 cost or less Characters.

OP04 Bege is a plain vanilla with a 2k counter in hand as we don't want to play this card to the field. The trigger effect is your opponent's Leader or 1 of their Characters cannot attack this turn. With Katakuri's effect involve, it is not difficult to trigger this at the right timing.

Lastly, Who Should Disappear is the only Event I am running in this build as I've made the room to fit more Characters to the build. The counter effect is the same as any other colours. You may trash 1 card from your hand, your Leader or 1 of your Characters gains 3k power for this battle. The trigger effect is if you have 0 Life, you may add the top card of your deck to top of your Life. Then, trash 1 card from your hand. If you can see this in your Life area with Katakuri's effect, you will want to place this card as the last card in your Life area.
