OP12 Purple/Black (Luffy) Deck Profile

Not an huge update for this deck as there's only 1 new card that could fit in this build for OP12 set. At least, it won't be a mono purple deck even though our Leader is multicoloured. Premium booster will have more support for this build, but then again, those cards will work with any purple SH Leaders and not just Nika Luffy. The build will be similar to the last one, so I'll just be copying and paste some information for this build as the style is still the same.

OP12 Luffy

How it Works?

The deck still focuses on ramping triggering Nika Luffy's effect to get DONs onto the field when we return DONs back to deck. We do want to trigger the Leader's effect to increase our Characters cost as this is especially good against cost removals, forcing your opponents to reduce their options. ST26 Luffy is still one of our key cards for the deck to make our Leader much more harder to get hit, so we can stall for time to play our Rush Characters. Most of our low cost Characters are mainly the support of the deck, so they won't be able to deal much damage unless we power those cards up using DONs.

We also got plenty of draw power for this deck, so you can easily filter out the cards you don't want with the cards you need, as there are a few cards that doesn't have counter, and counter will be important in protecting your cards. But both search and draw will help you get the cards you need as soon as possible, since some cards cannot be searched out from deck as they are not SH cards.

Ramp

The ramp is still the same as the last build where these 3 cards will act as our main ramp card for the deck. ST26 Robin technically works the same as OP09 Zoro as this is another card design for Nika Luffy Leader. The effect works on play, by returning 2 DONs, add 1 DON as active. So just like Zoro, we could gain 2 active DONs with this effect, but unlike Zoro, Robin has a 2k counter we can use.

OP09 Zoro works on play, by returning 1 or more DONs on your field, add 1 DON as active. This effect specifically works with Nika Luffy Leader as we can trigger Nika Luffy's effect to get 2 more DONs, so in total, we return 2 to gain 3 DONs in 1 turn. Although, for Zoro he is a 5k beat stick unlike Robin who would need a DON if you want to attack the Leader.

As we will be returning quite a lot of DONs when you already used Nika Luffy's effect, we will need Maria in the build to recover those lost DONs, or make use of the rested DONs. The effect is an activate main effect and the effect only works if you have no other Maria Characters in play. You can add up to 5 DONs as rest. Then, at the end of your turn, return DONs to the DON deck until you have the same number of DON as your opponents. The more DONs your opponent has on the field, the less DONs we will need to return when we use our effects.

Rush

As this build rely on big drop Characters, it would be better if some of these Characters have the Rush ability so we can attack as soon as they hit the field. EB02 Luffy has 2 effects, the first effect with require you to have a multicoloured Leader and your opponent needing 5 DONs to work to gain Rush. This is one of the easiest requirement to do in this game. The second effect works when attacking, you may return 2 of your active DONs to your DON deck to untap this Character. Then, add the top Life card to your hand. Although, you would rarely use this effect unless you are going for the final push for game as we mainly want the Rush ability.

OP09 Sanji has a really nice effect to use on top of Rush ability compare to EB02 Luffy. Although this is personal preference, considering Sanji cost 7 to play whilst Luffy only cost 6. The effect works on play, you may return 1 or more DONs on your field. This Character gains Rush and rest 1 of your opponent's 6 cost or less Characters. The ability to rest 1 of your opponent's Characters will help you attack into those Characters or stop any Blockers as we don't have any removals in this build.

OP09 Luffy is a card we want to play if we managed to get enough DONs on the field, as he is a 10k beat stick for 9 cost. The effect works on play, you may return 1 or more DONs on your field. Draw 1 card and this Character gains Rush this turn. We can return more than 1 DON, at least 2, so we can trigger our Leader's effect to gain more active DONs on the field.

Draw

I haven't included Giant as this would be in another section, but when it comes to draw power, we've got these 2 cards who are also Blockers to stop any of your opponent's attacks. Both OP09 Franky and ST18 Onami will have the same trash 1 card to draw 2 cards. The only difference is that Franky needs you to return 2 DONs from your field whilst Onami needs 8 or more DONs. We can mainly play Franky sooner as Onami takes time to set up as well as triggering the Leader's effect with Franky, setting up active DONs.

Straw Hat Supports

As for the rest of the SH supports, we've got some really obvious choices. OP09 Law is mainly the searcher of the deck. The effect works on play, look at top 4 cards of your deck, reveal one 2 cost or more SH or Heart Pirates card and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. Its mainly our Events we can't add to our hand as most of them are 1 cost and below.

ST18 Usohachi will need 8 DONs on the field for the effect to work. The effect works on play, if you have 8 or more DONs on your field, rest 1 of your opponent's 5 cost or less Characters. Although, if you don't plan on using the effect, the 2k counter will be useful for defence.

ST26 Luffy is one of the key card for this build. If we can get this card on the field, we wouldn't need to worry too much about counter cards. The effect works on play or when attacking, by returning 2 DONs, if your Leader is multicoloured and your opponent has 5 or more DONs on their field. Your SH Leader will have a base power of 7k until the end of your opponent's turn. 7k Leader are definitely harder to break through, not to mention we can trigger this effect constantly as long as ST26 Luffy is on the field, so every turn, we can easily make a 7k base Leader.

OP12 Robin is the only new card I've added to the build, she is a 7k Blocker which can easily stop low power attacks without getting KO. Robin has 2 effects, the first effect only works if we are using certain Leaders. The first effect is if your Leader is Koala or Luffy, this Character gains Blocker and +3 cost. If you combined this with Nika Luffy, we could easily make Robin a 10 drop Blocker, making it really hard for your opponents to remove this Blocker with cost removal. The second effect works on play, you may trash 1 card from your hand, if your opponent has 5 or more cards from their hand, your opponent trash 2 cards from their hand. A nice hand destruction in case your opponents gains a lot of cards whilst we were setting up for big plays.

Events

This time around, I've added Black Vortex to the deck for more counters and the effect can be really useful against some cards. As you know, Giant is a must have in the build for SH build because of the effect, unless somehow this card got limited. The counter effect is by returning 2 DONs from your field, you may trash 1 card from your hand, if your Leader is SH type, your Leader or 1 of your Character cards gains 4k power for this battle. Then, draw 2 cards. We don't need to worry about returning DONs as we've got plenty of ramp cards to recover the lost DONs.

Fight against Pirate is another searcher to search for SH cards considering we lack searchers for this build at the moment. The effect is look at top 3 cards of your deck, reveal up to 1 SH Pirates, Heart Pirates or Kid Pirates and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. Unlike Law, we will be able to search for our low cost Events if you need them in your hand. The trigger effect is activate this card's main effect.

I've decided to add Black Vortex in the deck for extra defence and very useful against certain cards. But this is up to you if you want to run this card in the deck or not. The counter effect is negate the effect of your opponent's Leader or 1 of your opponent's Characters and that card loses 4k power for the turn. Not only we can negate the effect but that power reduction can be very handy as it is very good against high power Characters. The trigger effect is negate the effect of your opponent's Leader or 1 of your opponent's Characters. This is the same as the counter effect but without the power reduction.
