OP10 Blue (Hancock) Deck Profile

Hancock was one of the builds that took some hit by the ban list, but it didn't matter too much for me as Hancock is more of a control build rather than an aggro build like Doffy. But losing Jinbe did mean I have to find some replacement, and added more control utilising Hancock's effect. For me, this deck is pretty much a rebuild from my previous versions of Hancock builds.

OP10 Hancock

How it Works?

The deck still focuses on low cost because we want to burn up our hand to trigger Hancock's effect easily rather than just throwing counters to stop your opponent's attacks. Without Jinbe this is still easy to do, but Jinbe helps us play our 4 cost 7 Warlords easily to the field instead of paying the full 4 cost. Although, there are lack of 7 Warlords in the build, so we can hit and miss with our searcher. But at least in return, we could return your opponent's Characters, not giving them a chance to fill up the board easily.

Returning

We do have no shortage in returning your opponent's Characters to hand or to the bottom of their decks. This is not including the 2 Events that I will mention below the post, although all of these cards can return your own Characters if you need to trigger their on play effect again. ST17 Law works on play, you may return 1 of your Characters to the owner's hand, if your Leader is 7 Warlords type, return one 4 cost or less Character to the owner's hand.

OP07 Crocodile only targets 2 cost or less Characters, and they can be your own Characters too, and doesn't need be your opponent's Characters. The effect works on play, by paying 1 DON, returning one 2 cost or less Character to the owner's hand. Otherwise, he can be used as 2k counters from hand.

OP08 Jozu works similar to ST17 Law where we need to return a Character to hand in order to use the effect. he effect works on play, you may return 1 of your other Character to the owner's hand to return one 6 cost or less Character to the owner's hand. But I guess we can return 6 cost or less which makes a huge difference compare to 4 cost or less as there are some 5 drops we can target.

OP10 Kyros is the only new card I've decided to run in this build, you can replace Kyros with one of the 7 Warlords Character if you prefer not to run him in the build. The effect works on play, return one 5 cost or less Character to the owner's hand. 5 cost or less is not a lot compare to Jozu, but Kyros is a 9k beat stick for a 7 drop which is plenty of power to swing at your opponents.

Finally, we've got OP04 Kaido who is a 10 drop which will definitely used up all your DONs for that turn, and you won't be able to play your other cards. The effect works on play, return one 8 cost or less Character and one 3 cost or less Character to the owner's hand. We could literally target 2 Characters in one go with this effect, but with the low cost, we may want to target our cards so we can reuse their on play's effect again.

Checking Top Cards

We've got 2 cards who can check the top cards of our deck, so we could draw into the cards we need with Hancock's effect. ST17 Buggy is similar to OP01 Perona's effect, but being a Warlord Character means we can search him from the deck if needed. Plus we also have 2k counters, so once we used Buggy's effect, we can bounce him back to hand for the counter power. The effect works on play, look at the top 3 cards of your deck and place them on top of your deck in any order. The only downside, we won't be able to put the cards to the bottom of the deck, so if the top 3 cards are unwanted cards, you may have a problem.

But this is also why we've got OP01 Doffy, but Doffy is also a Blocker, so we may not want to spam the effect unless we've got the DONs to do so. The effect works on play, look at top 5 cards of your deck and place them on top or bottom in any order. At least for Doffy, we can place the cards at the bottom of the deck if we don't like the cards.

7 Warlords Supports

There are not many 7 Warlords now we've excluded Jinbe from the build, and we are going through ST03 cards for this build. ST03 Law is just a 1 drop Blocker, but being a 7 Warlord Character means we can search him from the deck and play him to the field, ready to block one of your opponent's attacks whilst we can also reduce our hand size to trigger Hancock's effect easily.

OP07 Sengoku is just a searcher, the effect works on play, look at top 5 cards of your deck, reveal one 7 Warlords card and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. With the cards being able to bounce Sengoku to hand, we could use this effect over and over again, but this might increase our hand size.

ST03 Moria is to look for 7 Warlords from the trash, and this might be important if some of the cards we want ended up in the trash. The effect works on play, add up to one 4 cost or less 7 Warlords or Thriller Bark Character other than Moria from your trash to your hand.

Non 7 Warlords Supports

The 2 non 7 Warlord cards will be these 2. Kaya can help to filter our hand since we have some high drops that can't be played during the early turns, so you might want to discard them for cards you can use on that turn. The effect works on play, draw 2 cards and trash 2 cards. Just like Buggy, we could bounce Kaya to our hand for the 2k counter to use during your opponent's turn.

OP06 Pudding is optional as it really depends on what type of decks you are playing against. Decks who can search and draw, Pudding will be amazing, but decks who have low hand size, and Pudding will be useless to play. The effect works on play, your opponent returns all cards in their hand to their deck and shuffles their deck. Your opponent draw 5 cards.

Events

The 2 best Events for this build will be Red Roc and Gravity Blade, although the only downside when playing these 2 cards will be their high cost, but it will be worth it if you managed to pull it off. Red Roc mainly targets high cost Characters we can't target with our cards, the main effect is place 1 Character to the bottom of the owner's deck. This effect helps us to remove any Characters we want, but of course I would personally save this card for high cost, unless you know your opponents doesn't run any high costs in their build. The Trigger effect is place one 4 cost or less Character to the bottom of the owner's deck.

Lastly Gravity Blade is mainly to go against wide boards, as some decks can go wide very easily, which is why I prioritise Gravity Blade over Red Roc in terms of copies. The main effect is place two 6 cost or less Characters to the bottom of the owner's deck. We can only target 6 cost or less, but usually builds with 6 cost or less can go wide pretty easily. Another reason why I am running 4 copies of Gravity Blade is because of the trigger effect. The trigger effect is similar to Red Roc, place one 5 cost or less Character to the bottom of the owner's deck. So instead of Red Roc 4, we have more options with 5 cost or less Characters.
