We've got a Kid Leader for yellow giving more Supernovas support, and yellow has plenty of great cards we could use for this build. I guess since Enel has been hit badly, people might move on to a different Leader, and Kid could be one of them if you are fan of yellow. The style is totally different than Green/Yellow Law build, so we don't need some of the new Supernovas stuff from that deck, as we want to focus more the Kid's Leader effect.
OP10 Kid |
---|
Leader Character (48) Event (2) |
How it Works?
As you can see, we have lack of Supernovas in the build, but that won't matter too much since the main Supernovas are mainly beat sticks, and we can change them into Blockers thanks to Kid's Leader effect. The one major different between Law and Kid build is that we don't lose Life cards, meaning we could constantly trigger Kid's Leader effect as long as we've got Life cards to flip. But of course, we want to use Kid's Leader effect on certain Supernovas Characters and not anyone of them, since some work better with Kid like Hawkins.
Honestly, you can run more vanillas in Kid build, but I am only running Cavendish for Kid's Leader effect. Not only he is a 6 drop to play, but also 8k beat stick which is what Kid's effect like to untap Cavendish and become an 8k Blocker during your opponent's turn. Although it might be a bit difficult running vanilla Urouge in the build as you might have to make some sacrifice.
Life Gain
This line up is the exact same as my Green/Yellow Law build where they are the only Life gain cards we should focus. But unlike Law who need Life cards to play Supernovas for free, Kid only replaces the top face up Life card with face down Life card instead, so we can make our Supernovas Characters gains Blocker as well as untapping them. EB01 Shirahoshi is a Blocker with an effect, when this Character is KO'd by your opponent's effect, add the top card of your deck to top of your Life area. The best thing about Shirahoshi is that if she stays on the field, we will be able to stop 1 of your opponent's attacks, but if she is KO'd by effect, then we can gain a new Life card.
OP10 Law is a Life gain card, however, you will need to use Supernovas Characters if you want the Life gain ability. The effect works on play, reveal 1 Supernovas Character and add it to top of your Life area face down. Then, attach 1 rested DON to your Supernovas Leader. The rested DON doesn't matter too much, but at least the effect would power up Kid Leader so we can hit decent numbers.
Lastly we have OP07 Ace since it is one of the best yellow cards to have in build if you want the Life gain ability. The effect works on play, add the top card of your deck to top of your Life area. Then, if you have 2 or less Life cards, this Character gains Rush. The Rush is optional, but if you want to trigger Rush, then you will need to wait until you have 1 or less Life card to work.
Removals
As you can see, Supernovas has lack of removals to remove your opponent's Characters aside from Damned Punk, so we will need to rely on non Supernovas cards if we want to remove your opponent's Characters. Gedatsu works better during the early games rather than late game, although he will still be a 6k beat stick for 5 DONs. The effect works on play, KO 1 of your opponent's Characters with cost equal to or less than the number of Life cards in your opponent's Life area.
OP07 Nami only works the best if we've got Trigger cards in our hand, but for this build, we may have some difficulties triggering Nami's effect. I am running Trigger cards, but it is not a huge amount where we can trigger Nami's effect easily. The effect works on play, you may trash 1 card with trigger from your hand to KO 1 of your opponent's 5 cost or less Characters. Then, if you have 3 or less cards in your hand, draw 1 card. If you want the draw, then we would have to wait until we get a low hand size, otherwise if you need to remove a Character, we would play Nami right away. The trigger effect is just activate this card's on play effect.
Damned Punk is a 4 cost Event and it is the only Event in the build since I want more removals in the build rather than just using Gedatsu and Nami. Another reason why I am running Damned Punk is that the effect helps Kid's Leader effect, replacing those face up Life cards with face down Life cards. The effect is look at the top card of your or your opponent's Life area and place it at the top or bottom of the Life area. Then, KO 1 of your opponent's 5 cost or less Characters. The trigger effect is draw 2 cards and trash 1 card from your hand in case you need the draw power.
Trashing Life Cards
What I like about this build is that not only we've got KOing Character's effects, but we can also trash your opponent's Life cards, so even if we don't attack your opponent's Leader, they will still lose a Life card. OP10 Hawkins work best with Kid's Leader effect as Hawkins work on KO, trash the top card of your opponent's Life area. The easiest way to trigger the on KO effect is by making Hawkins a Blocker with Kid's Leader effect and use him to stop one of your opponent's attacks. So not only we blocked an attack, but your opponent would lose a Life card, I think this is worth the sacrifice if we want to break through your opponent's Life area easily. The trigger effect is the same as Damned Punk where you draw 2 cards and trash 1 card from your hand. Personally, you only use this effect if your opponents doesn't have any Life cards we could trash, making Hawkins useless.
OP10 Kid is another card who we can trash your opponent's Life cards, so we don't have to rely on Hawkins's on KO effect. Kid has 2 effects, the first effect work on play, you may rest this Character to trash the top card of your opponent's Life area. Kid Leader can untap Kid, so we won't need to worry too much about resting. The second effect works at the end of your turn, if your opponent has 2 or less Life cards, draw 1 card and trash 1 card. This is just a hand filter effect and it is not difficult to get your opponents down to 2 or less Life cards in this build.
Trigger Characters
Pretty much the only reason we use these cards will be for their trigger effects and nothing else. Otherwise, you would have to use these cards for the 2k counter or as a discard fodder for Nami's effect. OP04 Bege is not a Supernovas card as Bege was released very early before we got Supernovas stuff for yellow, so you won't be able to search Bege from the deck. The trigger effect is your opponent's Leader or 1 of their Characters cannot attack during this turn. Meanwhile Satori's trigger effect is you may trash 1 card from your hand to play this card if you need to fill the board.
Supernovas Supports
Now for the SN supports we've got these cards. OP10 Luffy is the standard searcher for Supernovas. The effect works on play, look at the top 5 cards of your deck, reveal 1 Supernovas card other than Luffy and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order.
OP10 Apoo is just an extra Blocker without the need to use Kid's Leader effect, but you do need a SN Character on the field to gain Blocker keyword. If you have a yellow SN Character other than Apoo, this Character gains Blocker. Specifically that SN Character needs to be yellow which is why I didn't run this in Green/Yellow Law build who have mixed colours.
OP10 Drake has an activate main which lets you rest your opponent's Characters, however there is a Life requirement for the effect to work. The effect is, you may rest this Character, if your Life cards is equal or less than your opponent's Life cards, rest 1 of your opponent's 4 cost or less Characters. So I guess we could take out any 4 drop or less Characters we want to remove, then untap Drake using Kid's Leader effect to use as a Blocker during your opponent's turn.
