I must say, the starter deck supports for Katakuri totally abandon checking your opponent's top card style. I actually like it more as it means I can play cards without having the need to use the Leader's effect first before I can use my card's effects. Now, Katakuri's effect is just a power bonus where we could swing for better numbers as well as being able to see the next card of your opponent's deck.

How it Works?
The starter deck supports let us replace most of the cards from the Katakuri deck, only keeping the important ones. You will be doing a lot of ramping as we can also return a lot of DONs in this build with cards like Big Mom and Mamaragan, so I wouldn't worry too much about the costs.
I am also running a lot of searchers in this build as searchers will play an important role in order to get the cards we need. There are not many draw power, so you won't be able to draw the cards sooner. Also PRB02 Pudding will also be important to play our 8k power or less to the field more easily.
Ramp
The more ramp we've got, the sooner we can play our high costs Characters and also able to return DONs without ruining the next play. ST34 Cracker is a great addition to the build as this card only cost 4 to play. The effect works on play, if your Leader is BM Pirates type, add 1 DON as rest. Then, KO 1 of your opponent's 2 cost or less Characters. The KO part won't be too important as we could only mainly KO the searchers, so we are mainly playing Cracker for the ramp and a 5k beat stick on the field.
EB03 Pudding will only works best if you have less DONs than your opponents, otherwise, you will either play this card for the Blocker, or saving this card in your hand for the 2k counter. The effect works on play, if the number of DONs is equal to or less than your opponents, add 1 DON as rest.
ST34 Katakuri is a main card we want to have on the field because of the main effect. The main effect works during your turn and once per turn, when a DON card is returned to your DON deck, if your Leader is BM Pirates type, add up to 2 DONs at rest. Thanks to this effect, when we use our Leader's effect, we will be constantly getting a new DON, easily making our lost into an advantage. The second effect works on KO, play one 8k power or less Character from your hand. We don't have to worry about losing this card as long as we've got another beat stick to play on the field.
OP11 Katakuri will be one of the targets we want to play with ST34 version. Katakuri is an 8k Blocker, but with the ability to protect 2 of your BM Pirates Characters from getting attack into on top of the ramp effect. The effect works at the end of your turn, 2 of your 3 cost or more BM Pirates Characters becomes active. Then, add 1 DON as rest.
Free Play
I have kept these 2 cards as they can let us play Characters for free. Kid Katakuri will require your opponents to have DONs in order to work. The effect is an activate main effect. You may trash this Character, if your Leader is BM Pirates, play one 3 cost or more Katakuri that is equal or less than the number of DONs on your opponent's field. So, the more DONs your opponent has, the higher the cost we can play.
PRB02 Pudding won't need to require your opponent's DONs to work, instead, we need to get the Characters into our hand. The effect works on play, by returning 2 DONs, if your Leader is BM Pirates type and your opponent have 6 or more DONs on their field, draw 2 cards. Then, play one 6k to 8k power BM Pirates Character from your hand.
Searchers
What I like about this build is that we have 3 searchers in this build to search for our BM Pirates cards, so if you can see 1 of these cards in your opening hand, you will be good to go. ST34 Brulee works on play, look at top 3 cards of your deck, reveal 1 BM Pirates card and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order.
OP11 Pudding will mainly be used for the search effect as we don't need the second effect anymore, unless you want to trigger some of the effects. The first effect works on play, look at the top 5 cards of your deck, reveal one 2 cost or more BM Pirates card and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. The second effect is an activate main which is, by returning 1 DON and resting this Character, look at the top card of your opponent's deck.
Claiming One Piece is an Event, but if you can trigger the trigger effect instead of the hand, that will be even better. The effect is if your Leader is AK Pirates or BM Pirates, look at the top 5 cards of your deck, reveal 1 AK Pirates or BM Pirates and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. You will be mainly be adding BM Pirates as I am not running any AK Pirates in the build. The trigger effect is activate this card's main effect.
Removals
There are only 2 removals in this build which is not a lot. Tamago and Pekoms is mainly for the 2k counter as it will be very difficult to use the effect. The effect works when attacking, by returning 1 DON, KO 1 of your opponent's 2k base power or less Characters. 2k power or less is not a lot.
Which is why you will be mainly relying on Conquest of the Sea for the removal effect. The effect is by returning 2 DONs, if your Leader is AK Pirates or BM Pirates, KO up to 2 of your opponent's 6 cost or less Characters. 6 cost or less is more easier to target compare to 2k base power or less Characters.
The Supports
The rest of the supports are very simple. ST34 Big Mom is really useful compare to the other Big Mom available. The effect works on play, by returning 4 DONs, you may trash 1 card from your hand to add 1 card from top of your deck to top of your Life area. Then, 1 of your opponent's base power becomes 0 this turn. Not only we gain a Life card, you can also make 1 of your opponent's major beat stick down to 0, but unfortunately, we don't have the rest effects in the build.
Mamaragan is very useful and you can use the main effect easily since we have plenty of ramp cards that can get the DONs back. The main effect is by returning 2 DONs, draw 1 card. Then, rest 1 of your opponent's 5k power or less Characters. The counter effect will be difficult to get part of the effect active, unless you use this card early. The counter effect is your Leader or 1 of your Characters gains 1k power for the battle. Then, if you have 6 or less DONs, draw 1 card.
OP13 Divine Departure is the final Event I am running, and you can use both of these effects depending on the situation on the field. The main effect will require you to have an attach DON to work, by resting 5 DONs, if you have any attached DONs, 1 of your opponent's Characters loses 8k power for the turn. This will make your Characters easier to hit especially due to the lack of removals in this build. The counter effect is the same as any other 0 cost Event where we trash 1 card, your Leader or 1 of your Characters gains 3k power for the battle.
