OP17 Black (Luffy) Deck Profile

Elbaph Luffy is a strange one. I do think we need more supports for Elbaph then I could see this deck really good. We do have some of the old Straw Hat cards we can add to this build. For now, we will stick with what we got, and the Leader's effect will only be like an additional effect due to the lack of cards to make the Leader's effect activate more consistently.

OP17 Luffy

How it Works?

I've kept this deck simple as the am for this deck is going for the 2 drop Rush since our 2 drop gains 3k power constantly when we have a 12 drop on the field, so you wouldn't have to worry about your opponents swinging into your Characters. Although, we don't have any 1 drop searchers, as all of our searchers have high costs, so you wouldn't be able to get the cards you need.

The 12+ Costs

The 4 main cards we want to have on the field to trigger the rest of the deck effects. Rodo is a nice 1 drop we could play if we want to get 12 cost on the field. The effect is, if your Leader is Elbaph, this Character gains +12 cost. This effect is also permanent, so can work well with the Leader's effect.

Gerd has the exact same effect as Rodo which is if your Leader is Elbaph, this Character gains +12 cost. However, we do have an additional effect that works on play, you may trash 1 card from your hand, add one 8 cost or less except Gerd from your trash to hand. You could use Gerd during the early turn if you need a 12 cost on the field, as we will just be wasting the on play effect.

OP17 Saul has an additional effect on top of gain +12 for the cost. The effect works on play, look at top 3 cards of your deck, reveal 1 Elbaph card and add it to your hand. Trash the rest. On the bright side, we could add another Saul to our hand if there is another copy on top of the deck.

Loki is the last card that can gain +12 cost, but we do have additional effect on top of +12 which is if it's your opponent's turn, this card gains 3k power, making Loki a nice 11k Blocker on your opponent's turn. The effect works on play, KO up to a total cost of 4 or less. This will be difficult as I am not running any cost reducers in the build.

Removal

Not much for removals since we didn't get much, so I am just running these 2 cards. OP17 Brook is 1 of your 2 drop which can gain 3k power if you can get a 12 cost on the field. The effect works on play, if there is a Character with 12 cost or more, your opponent trashes 1 card from their hand. This is important considering there are a lot of draw or searchers for the decks, so your opponent could easily gain a massive hand size. Plus, we can also play Brook when your opponent has 4 or less cards in hand.

Kong Gun is the other removal in the deck and a very decent one to have. The main effect is you may rest 6 DONs, if there is a 12 cost or more on the field, KO up to two 6 cost or less Characters. This will cost you 7 altogether, and if you have cost reducers, then, Kong Gun can be deadly. The counter effect is your Leader gains 3k power for the battle.

Free Play

Only 2 cards in this build who can play Characters for free, and both cards can only play 2 drop, which is why I've went with a 2 drop build. Docking 6 gains +6 cost making an 11 cost Character on the field. The effect  works on play, you may mill 3 cards from your deck to play one 2 cost or less SH Character from your trash. Unfortunately, some of our 2 drop cards also mixed with some Ebalph Characters too.

On the bright side, I am running OP17 Luffy who will be able to play any 2 drop or less cards in this build, but he does cost 8 to play. Luffy also gains Rush if you have a 12+ cost Character on the field. The effect works on play, draw 1 card and play one 2 cost or less Character from your trash. This should gives you plenty of options if you have set up the mill.

Draw

Not many for draw power as we only got these 2 cards including OP17 Luffy for draw power. OP17 Sanji is just like any 2 drop in this build where if you have a 12 cost or more Character, this Character gains 3k power. The effect works on play, you draw 2 cards and trash 2 cards from your hand. This is just a hand filter, so you won't be able to gain a hand size, but you can filter out the cards in your hand.

ST14 Sunny works well with Pirate Docking 6 as the main effect makes all your black SH Characters gains +1 cost, making Docking 6 a 12 cost, meeting the requirements for your Leader's effect. The other effect works on play, if your Leader is SH type, draw 1 card.

Straw Hat Supports

All of these SH has the exact same power effect as Sanji which is if you have a 12 cost or more Character, this Character gains 3k power, so we do have a lot of beat sticks. The only difference will be their effect. OP17 Usopp has the exact same on play effect as Saul which is on play, look at top 3 cards of your deck, reveal 1 Elbaph card and add it to your hand. Trash the rest. Usopp will only cost 2 to play compare to Saul's 4.

OP17 Robin also works on play which is, if you have a 12 cost or more Character, 1 of your opponent's Characters loses 3k power. 3k power will be a lot, especially when our 2 drop can become 5k beat stick we can swing. However, if the power is 9k or more, we will need to rely on our beat sticks.

OP17 Zoro works well with our mill cards, so you don't need to worry about milling too much cards to the trash. The effect is if 1 of your Character is removed by your opponent's effects, you may place 3 cards from your trash to the bottom of your deck in any order instead. What's good is that this effect is not once per turn, so the more cards you can get to the trash, the more protection you will have for your Characters.
