OP15 Yellow (Luffy) Deck Profile

Another mono yellow Luffy Leader, but this time we can use the yellow Sky Island cards instead of purple. You can cramp the EB03 Straw Hat stuff for this build, but we won't be making use of the Leader's effect who only protects Sky Island Characters. There are also plenty of Life gain already, so you won't be needing the additional Life gain from EB03 set.

OP15 Luffy

How it Works?

I've kept the deck really simple as I've pretty much max out all the Sky Island cards except Enel who is a 10 drop. I've only added additional cards like Zeus for extra removals, Robin for a Blocker with the potential to play for free if you are lucky enough for the trigger effect and EB04 Kizaru who is a very powerful card. There are plenty of draw power as we are running Kalgara and can be searched out from the deck thanks to our SI searchers. So once you can get Kalgara on the field, you can easily get the draw power going.

Life Gain

As you can see, there are a lot of Life gain cards in this deck already, so you don't need to worry about running out of Life cards. OP15 Zoro is a really strong yellow Life gain card. The effect works on play, you may trash 1 card to add the top card of your deck to top of your Life area. This is a cheaper version of OP12 Kuma, so I can see this being run in a lot of yellow builds.

EB04 Kizaru was a main yellow Life gain card if OP15 Zoro wasn't around, but when you have OP15 Zoro, Kizaru can be a back up. Kizaru is a 6k Blocker with an effect that works on play, if you have 2 or less Life cards, add the top card of your deck to top of your Life area. It's very easy to get 2 or less Life cards in this deck as we have ways to reduce our Life cards even if your opponent doesn't hit your Leader.

OP15 Robin works in a very specific deck like this build and also the reason why I didn't run EB03 Robin as I would play OP15 Robin more on the field for 7. Although, the effect isn't really a Life gain, but just swapping cards around who will help to trigger Kalgara's effect. The effect works on play, you may add the top card in your Life area to your hand, if your Leader is SH type, add the top card of your deck to your Life area. Then, play one 5 cost or less SI Character from your hand. When it comes to 5 cost or less SI Characters, we have plenty of options to choose from to spam the field.

Then, we have our EB02 Enel, and EB02 Enel has a specific timing in order to pull off the Life gain which is why I am only running 2 copies in the build as we have other low cost Life gain we can play first. Enel has 2 effects, the first effect is if your Leader is SI type, this Character gains Rush. Works perfectly in this build because of our Luffy Leader. The second effect works when attacking, you may trash 1 card from your hand, if you have 1 or less Life cards, add the top card of your deck to your Life area. Then, this Character gains 1k power for the turn. Thanks to the Rush ability, we can easily trigger Enel's when attacking effect, and would be best if you could get both Life gain and power bonus at the same time instead of just the power bonus to have a 12k beat stick.

Golden Rifle is the only Event I am running and the main effect is similar to OP15 Robin where we mainly swapping Life cards around instead of having a fully Life gain effect. The main effect is, if your Leader is SH type, trash the top card of your Life area. Then, add the top card of your deck to your Life area and trash 1 card from your hand. You only want to use this effect if you have Kalgara on the field, otherwise, you will be aiming for the counter effect which is your Leader gains 4k power for the battle.

Removals

For the removals, your 2 main removal are Zeus and Gedatsu whilst Wyper only works against specific cards. OP11 Zeus works on play, you may add the top or bottom card of your Life area to your hand to KO 1 of your opponent's 5 cost or less Characters. You have plenty of Life gain cards and sometimes, taking a Life card away would help you trigger cards like Kizaru or Enel who requires low Life cards to work. Otherwise, we can use this card for the 2k counter.

OP15 Wyper is 1 of the card that can be played for free using Robin's effect. Wyper has 2 effects, the first effect works on play, you may turn the top Life card face up to reduce all of your opponent's Characters power by 2k for the turn. Then, KO all of your opponent's Characters with 0 power or less. The KO part might be difficult, but the power reducing is definitely useful as it would make our Characters more easier to hit your opponents. The second effect is an activate main, once per turn, attach 1 rested DON to your SI type Leader or Characters. This will help to make our attacks more effective especially combined with the power reducer on the same turn.

OP05 Gedatsu works best during the early game, or else, we could play this for free with Robin's effect and have another 6k beat stick on the field. The effect works on play, KO 1 of your opponent's Characters with cost equal to or less than their Life cards. The earlier you play Gedatsu, the higher cost we can target, and if they have Life gain, that would be even better for this card.

Searchers

The 2 main searchers for SI type which is why this deck is mainly running SI cards rather than SH cards. OP15 Nami is our 1 drop searcher and it took SI 10 sets to get a 1 drop searcher. The effect works on play, look at top 3 cards of your deck, reveal 1 SI type card and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. We don't have a name restriction for Nami, so you could actually search herself as long as she has the SI type.

OP05 Shura will be rotated out around next year, but for now, we have 2 searchers in this build. The effect works on play, look at the top 5 cards of your deck, reveal 1 SI type card except Shura and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. This card would work the best if you have 2 DONs to work with. The trigger effect is play this card.

The Supports

The rest of the supports is very simple. ST29 Robin is just a Blocker with a 2k counter, so it is up to you if you want to hard play this card or not. Otherwise, you will be aiming for Robin's trigger effect which is if your Leader is Luffy, play this card.

OP15 Luffy is the main card of the deck, and would work the best if you have at least 6 DONs rather than 5. Luffy has 2 effects, the first effect is if you have 6 or more DONs, this Character gains Rush. Another Rush Character other than Enel which can make our attacks more aggressive. The second effect works when your opponents activate an Event or Blocker, reveal the top card of your Life area, this Character gains 1k power for the turn per cost revealed on that card. I guess this might be the reason why people would run 4 10 drop Enel in the build as we could give Luffy 10k power. Although, you have to be really lucky unless you are running more 10 drops in the build. 5k power would be enough as the power is not once per turn, so as long as your opponents are using Events and Blockers, we can make Luffy swing for deadly numbers.

OP12 Kalgara is a card we want to have on the field as this is the only card with a draw engine. The effect works on your turn, when a card is removed from you or your opponent's Life area, draw 1 card. Then, you cannot draw cards using your own effects for the turn. This is a hard once per turn restrictions, but we have plenty of ways of triggering Kalgara's draw.
