Best of 3 format, I am surprised GCG has a sideboard considering DCG got removed in the end. I was disappointed with DCG with the removal of sideboard, but it did make sense as not only the non meta decks could get the benefits, the main meta decks can also utilised this, which is also why OPCG doesn't have a sideboard. OPCG having a sideboard will make deck building so much easier since there are a lot of cards I want to run, but the lack of spaces make it hard to run those cards.
If you came from MTG, YGO or any other TCG that utilises the sideboard, then sideboarding will be pretty normal. But if you play TCGs that doesn't have sideboard, then, you will have to play with the sideboard. Sideboarding is very straight forward, you want cards that can stop the meta decks, but also not affecting your deck too much.
As for me who barely side cards even though I play a bit of YGO, personally, it's a pain, unless I really need to side to stop against the top meta decks. I make most of the changes through the main deck, so there would be less side deck needed. Remember, you only have 10 cards for GCG, which is the same as DCG past side deck rules. 10 cards is not a lot, especially when you can have 4 copies in a deck, obviously, you don't want to run 4 in the side deck unless that card can change against meta completely.
Moving on, we also have card reveal which is why I've made this post. The past Link Station videos doesn't really talk much except the fights, and the Events mainly focused on Japan. So it never feels like the channel is made for global audiences.
Card
Only 1 new card got revealed in the video and it's Dynames. Looks like we could go Purple/Red or Purple/Green depending on the style, but my style is always Red as I like the burn damage in the game, so I'll be using Purple/Red Celestial build if it's possible with GD04 set. The one downside to the effect is that we need to rest Dynames, and by resting, it gives your opponents to attack these cards. I guess we need to rely on the Purple side to power up these cards, so we can destroy your opponent's units if they do try and destroy this card.
