EB04 Purple (Foxy) Deck Profile

Foxy is back, and the new Foxy Pirates supports from EB04 definitely makes a huge improvement for this deck. This definitely makes Foxy more annoying to play against as we can stop 2 attacks as long as we've got 3 Foxy Pirates on the field. Although, they don't really have a card who could change the state of the game, I think that's the only thing they are missing.

EB04 Foxy

How it Works?

The main priority of this deck is to get 3 Foxy Pirates Characters on the field, so we could use the Leader's effect as soon as possible. This is why I've mainly filled up the deck with low cost Foxy Pirates over high costs, the sooner we have them on the field, the earlier we can use the Leader's effect to stop your opponent's attacks. Plus, some of the cards in this build only works when you have less or equal DONs than your opponents.

Ramp

Our main ramp cards are low cost which is what we need as the sooner we can ramp, the earlier we could use the Leader's effect as well as playing plenty of Characters to the field. Gina works best when you have DONs equal or less than your opponents, so we won't be able to play Gina right of the bat. The effect works on play, if your Leader is Foxy Pirates type and the number of DONs on your field is equal or less than your opponents, add 1 DON as rest. On the bright side, we do have 2k counters we can use.

OP07 Chopper is another Character like Gina where we need DONs equal or less than your opponents, but we do have a Blocker ability to use to stop your opponent's attacks. Hopefully, you would have a Foxy Pirates Character for the replacement. The effect works on play, ithe number of DONs on your field is equal or less than your opponents, add 1 DON as rest.

Itomimizu is our main ramp card as this is the Character where DONs doesn't matter to use his effect. The effect is an activate main effect, once per turn, if your Leader is Foxy Pirates type and you have no other Itomimizu on the field, add 1 DON as rest. You only need to play 1 Itomimizu for the effect to work, and if you have other copies, you can use those as discard fodders or counters until your opponent manage to remove Itomimizu from the field.

OP08 Maria is definitely helpful as we will be returning 3 DONs when we use our Leader's effect, and playing the ramp cards individually would take time and use up some of our DONs. The effect is an activate main effect and the effect only works if you have no other Maria Characters in play, you can add up to 5 DONs as rest. Then, at the end of your turn, return DONs to the DON deck until you have the same number of DON as your opponents. You can use Maria's effect to get rested DONs, then use those rested DONs when you use your Leader's effect, so we don't have to worry about losing DONs during the next turn. Plus, you also want to use this effect so we can trigger cards like Gina and Chopper easily rather than needing to use certain cards to work.

Lastly, EB01 Bon Clay. I don't think I need to explain why Bon Clay is in the build since this is a ramp deck where we will be returning DONs, so having these cards will be very useful. Bon Clay have two effects, the first effect works on play, add 1 DON as active. The second effect is where we can make Bon Clay a decent beat stick. When attacking, select 1 of your opponent's Characters. This Character base power will become the same as the selected Character power.

Rest

There are some rest effects so we can rest your opponent's Characters to use our Leader's effect, but most of the time, I mainly use Usohachi for 2k counter, whilst EB04 Foxy for the other effect. ST18 Usohachi works on play, if you have 8 or more DONs, rest 1 of your opponent's 5 cost or less Characters. You would only play Usohachi if you need to use the rest effect.

EB04 Foxy on the other hand is our 9k beat stick we can use, however, doesn't work very well with the Leader's effect as we need to have at least 3 Foxy Pirates for the effect to work, and you wouldn't want to play a high cost Character like Foxy. Foxy has 2 effects, the first effect is by returning 1 DON, if your Leader is Foxy Pirates type, draw 2 cards and trash 1 card from your hand. Then, rest 1 of your opponent's 9 cost or less Characters. Not only we can rest, but we also have draw power which can be useful in filtering out some cards we won't be needing. The second effect is an activate main effect, once per turn, add 1 DON as rest. This would help to recover any lost DONs especially if you don't draw Maria.

Draw

We do have more draw power for this build and both of them are low cost Characters. OP10 Foxy would work best after you used your Leader's effect otherwise, we need to play another Foxy Pirate to the field. The effect is an activate main effect, you may trash this Character, if the number of DONs on your field is less than or equal to your opponents, draw 1 card.

ST18 Onami is another Blocker and since this card is not a Foxy Pirate like Chopper, we don't need to worry about the Leader's effect and can use the Blocker right away to stop your opponent's attacks if needed., The effect works on play, if you have 8 or more DONs, trash 1 card from your hand to draw 2 cards. Unfortunately, we do need to trash first before drawing.

Foxy Pirates Supports

Nothing much changed except I've added 2 new cards to the build. EB04 Porche is the standard searcher for Foxy Pirates. The effect works on play, if your Leader is Foxy Pirates, look at the top 5 cards of your deck, reveal 1 Foxy Pirates among them and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of the deck in any order. What I am surprised about this searcher is that we can search Porche herself.

OP07 Porche is 1 of the key cards we need for the build, especially to fill up the Leader's requirements. The effect works on play, by returning 1 DON, look at the top 5 cards of your deck, reveal 1 Foxy Pirates among them and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order and play one 4k power or less purple Character from your hand. The best thing about this effect is that we don't have to play Foxy Pirates, we could play cards like Onami and trigger Onami's effect to get some draw.

Pickles is in the deck to protect your Foxy Pirates against KO effects, since needing to maintain 3 on the field can be quite a handful, especially if your opponent keeps targeting your Foxy Pirates Characters. The effect is if the number of DONs on your field is equal or less than your opponents, your Foxy Pirates type other than Pickles cannot be KO'd by effects. This shouldn't be difficult as we've got plenty of ways to return DONs.

Groggy Monsters is okay for this build, but cost 5 to play and you will need 3 Foxy Pirates on the field. The effect works on play, by returning 1 DON, if you have 3 or more Foxy Pirates Characters, KO 1 of your opponent's 6k base power or less Characters. Honestly, for that kind of requirements, we can only KO 6k power or less Characters which is very disappointing, but at least we have a removal.

OP07 Foxy is another key card in this build, if you can get this card on the field, the effects will definitely help. Foxy has 2 effects, the first effect works if your Leader is Foxy Pirates type, reduce all of your opponent's Characters power by 1k. So if we can play multiple Foxy on the field, your opponent's Characters power could lose more than 1k. The second effect is an activate main effect, once per turn, add 1 DON as rest. This is another card who can ramp if you need more ramps, but I am mainly aiming for the first effect to try and reduce your opponent's attacks.

Nine Tails Rush will be useful, especially since I am running EB04 Foxy who is a 9k beat stick rather than use this with OP07 Foxy, but either card will do as we want to force your opponent to use plenty of counters from their hand. The effect is if the number of DONs on your field is equal or less than your opponents, set 1 Foxy card as active. The trigger effect is add 1 DON as active. Personally, you want to use the main effect over the trigger effect unless you haven't draw your ramp cards.
