As you know, the TCG ban list for YGO is out, all the other ban list got revealed in December, so TCG is the last one on the list. I've already accepted Herald would be banned in the TCG format because of the meta decks, which also means, I won't be able to use Herald in my Synchrons, but I can use Herald in both OCG and MD format.
I guess for TCG format, I would have to use my White Forest as back up plan or build Elevennote deck, even though I think Elvennote would be meta and could get hit in the ban list, whereas White Forest have the slimmest chance unless White Forest gets a new meta broken support that will make the deck amazingly strong.
Forbidden
I was surprised Maliss got hit since I haven't seen Maliss meta for a while, and Harpie's Feather Storm? Someone needs to fill me in why that card is banned because I don't keep up with the YGO meta formats. I do know why Barrier Statue is banned since the game is designed for special summon for modern YGO, and old cards like Barrier Statues are a nuisance to the game. But I blame Konami for creating this kind of format in the first place.
Limited
The main meta decks got hit, that is all I know.
Semi Limited
Only Droll got hit, and people was hoping for Ash. So the hand traps will be the same as MD I think except Maxx C, where we could run 3 Ash and 2 Drolls in the build.
Unlimited
They hit Hollie Sue but brought back the other VS cards, but I guess it's a fair trade off, otherwise VS could be back to full power. Looks like Chaos Dragon might be back to play seeing both Black and White Dragon being unlimited, but I know there are other combos to make the Dragon deck work.
